INTERESTING UPDATE FROM "THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HILL"

Anonymous says: So here is an update from the "other side" of the hill.

Something is going down at the Korean Catholic Church-St. Andrew Kim- issues with land disputes, property rights, etc. which will

THE ILLEGITIMATE REMOVAL OF FR. PAUL GOFIGAN - PART I

On July 16, 2013, Fr. Paul Gofigan was called to the chancery where he was handed a letter by Archbishop Apuron demanding his resignation under canons 1740 and 1741 which establishes the reasons a bishop may remove a pastor.

Unfortunately for the Archbishop he chose to ignore the Code of Canon Law (cc. 1742 - 1747) which establish the process by which a pastor may be removed, particularly canon 1742 which instructs: "he paternally is to persuade the pastor to resign within fifteen days, after having explained, for validity, the cause and arguments for the removal."

YOU ARE GOING TO BE VERY SORRY

Dear Anonymous,

Did you check with the archbishop before you wrote the following? Because you are going to be VERY sorry you wrote this. Here's why. When these violations of the archbishop first came up, the audience on this blog was yet quite small. And since we first brought them up awhile ago, they have somewhat receded in the conversation as discussions about the Neocatechumenal Way have come to the fore. However, today, the audience on this blog is exponentially larger, and you have demanded that I substantiate, once again, these violations by the archbishop. He's not going to be happy.

I NEVER RUN OUT OF MATERIAL

I think it's becoming quite clear who this person is, but no matter, we'll continue to let him hide. See here for the context.
"And "idiot"? What else to call people like you who make malicious and ignorant generalizations like the one you just made about the supposed group I belong to. For the record, I only know one person in that "group" who opposes the NCW."I invite you to check again and clarify. There are bad apples who are making your "group" victims of this generalization.
That's strange. You're the one making the generalization and thus making them victims, victims of your generalization. That's intelligent.

JUST AN FYI

...to those who think I'm losing. Every time you come here, I win. Thanks.

WHY WE ARE HERE

"Who is going to save our Church?
Not our bishops, not our priests and
religious. It is up to you, the people.
You have the minds, the eyes, the ears
to save the Church. Your mission
is to see that your priests act like priests,
your bishops, like bishops, and your
religious act like religious.”

Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, before the
Knights of Columbus, June 1972.

ARE THERE NO MEN AMONG YOU?

To see the context for the following go here.
Thanks Tim for the attention given to my comment. It doesnt deserve it but I will take it gratis. Lets just be clear about one thing, I am not Fr. Adrian or Msgr. David, I am anonymous who chooses to remain anonymous on my own will. Why do I stay anonymous? To show that one does not need to be an ordained or a person who has been theologically educated. I do all my reading freely and on my own will.
Oh, I see. Makes a lot of sense now.

MORE FUN WITH ZOLTAN

We have to assume that the gems we continue to get from Zoltan are precisely what is taught in the Neocatechumenal Way. No one has stepped forward on this blog to discredit anything he has said. And obviously he has not been reined in by any Catechist. In fact, by the looks of it, he is encouraged to sally forth on this blog in the name of the Neocatechumenal Way. So we will let him speak:

POPE JOHN'S LOST SYNOD

It's no secret that a major part of the reason for John XXIII's being declared a saint was his role in calling the Second Vatican Council. Here is what he intended:

"[The Second Vatican Council… wishes to transmit the doctrine, pure and integral, without any attenuation or distortion, which throughout twenty centuries, notwithstanding difficulties and contrasts, has become the common patrimony of men. It is a patrimony not well received by all, but always a rich treasure available to men of good will… The salient point of this Council is not, therefore, a discussion of one article or another of the fundamental doctrine of the Church which has repeatedly been taught by the Fathers and by ancient and modern theologians, and which is presumed to be well known and familiar to all.

HYPOCRISY AND BROOD OF VIPERS - A REFLECTION FROM JANET

Jesus warned us about individuals, especially those in authority, that we should be very wary of their actions when they stray off course. Whimsically, a select few condemn Mr Rohr for bringing to light the dangers of straying from Church doctrine, magisterium, and liturgical norms.

We should call these the Neo-Ostrich Way (NOW). It is a fitting acronym as it reminds them, and all of us that we need to pull our heads out of the sand NOW! Jesus did not allow himself to be nailed on the cross so we could happily ignore problems and turn a blind eye to abuses. As Christians, we have many rights, but we also have responsibilities. One of those responsibilities for us normal Catholics is to speak the truth, speak out and do our best to make things right. It is a very Christian form of resolving problems.

I FORGOT TO INCLUDE THIS ONE WITH THE "FRUIT"

Anonymous April 9, 2014 at 7:22 AM
Tim when you say WE, are you including yourself? Your not even from here, why does it matter that you would like the anonymous? The anonymous made a clear point , point your barrel somewhere else. You are not from here, ur self proclaim Guamanian turd.

Gino

NOTE: I've invited "Gino" to meet me on several occasions. There's been no reply except for more evidence of peace and joy like this one.

SINCE JULY 21, 2013

That's 17.84 comments per day. And there's another 500 I didn't publish. Oh, don't worry, most of them weren't from the Kiko's. I actually like there's. Most of the ones I didn't publish were those which had some very bad things to say about the Archbishop and a few others.

JUST A FEW EXAMPLES OF THE KIKO "FRUIT" OVER THE LAST 24 HOURS

Now why in the world would anyone not want to be one of them?
(Click on the link if you want to see the context.)

¡CONTAMINADO!

Would you be shocked to hear that seminarians at our Redemptoris Mater seminary were being taught that Catholicism has been “contaminated” by archaic religious systems?

Don’t be.  It’s a deeply held belief of men who have taught at the seminary here and they have committed themselves to teaching it.

Let me explain.

ON SECOND THOUGHT

On second thought (see first thought), I don't want to (yet) release the full audio recording of Archbishop Apuron's fateful KOLG interview nor reveal the content of the cover up that followed. We'll save that. I would rather have a little fun with Anonymous April 23, 2014 at 7:55 PM.

First, several people believe they recognize this commenter and their observations pretty much confirm my initial suspicion. He's attacked me before in pretty much the same way. But let's leave his identity aside for now and look at what he says.

I WAS WAITING FOR THIS

Your zeal for the Pope whom you thought was going to take us all back to the Rite and Era which you prefer and have passion for, Pre Vatican II. Your hopes were cut short when he became Pope Emeritus. Now that we have Francis as our Pope and you see his Jesuit Style in Pastoral Care, in shepherding our flock, you feel it necessary to go ahead and incardinate yourself as church hierarchy. Youve done a good job at it because you now have faithful followers who consider every notion that you have as truth. You fail to correct them, then causing more conflict because it raises an argument that could have been avoided. You want truth but yet you yourself have failed at this and continue to push forward nonsense. Its time that you understand that the way in which you want to receive the information, documents etc. is not going to happen. You are creating a paper trail that only serves as evidence of your lack to confront the problem upfront. You want something from the Archbishop then go and see him. You know where he lives, eats and celebrates. Joy!

WHERE IN THE WORLD IS FR. ALBERTO?

During Holy Week, Fr. Michael Jucutan's absence from the Cathedral was noticed by some. Holy Week of course is the busiest week of the year and every available priest is usually needed. So we decided to ask.

Here's what we received back: Fr. Jucutan was sent to Agat by the Archbishop to cover for Fr. Alberto. Where was Fr. Alberto? Here's what we received back: he returned to his home in the Canary Islands to celebrate Holy Week with his neo-community.

If this is not true, feel free to provide the correct information.

CLEVER

I suppose most people my age would not object to a picture of themselves in the local newspaper where one is actually ten years younger. But this was a clever ploy by the PDN.

It is no secret that the editors of the paper are pro gay-marriage, as they have consistently stated so again and again. And it no secret that I am their biggest public nemesis, calling them on it again and again whenever they run an article in support of the gay marriage or LGBT lifestyle in general.

However, and the record shows this, I have never written or spoken against LGBT persons, but only against the arguments used by advocates that either lack substance or, as in the article I criticize here, simply presents a lie.

TO HELL WITH IT: AN EASTER REFLECTION ON THE REAL PRESENCE

This is probably the most profound thing I've ever read about the Real Presence:

“I was once, five or six years ago, taken by some friends to have dinner with Mary McCarthy and her husband, Mr. Broadwater. (She just wrote that book, “A Charmed Life.”) She departed the Church at the age of 15 and is a Big Intellectual. We went at eight and at one, I hadn’t opened my mouth once, there being nothing for me in such company to say. . . . Having me there was like having a dog present who had been trained to say a few words but overcome with inadequacy had forgotten them.

ANONYMOUS COWARD DEMANDS A VERDICT

Anonymous Coward has insisted that I produce the "verdict" that the July 2013 firing of Fr. Paul Gofigan was illegal. You can thank him/her for my dragging this back into full public view. So here it is.

The Archbishop produced his own "verdict" when on September 10, 2013, he wrote Fr. Paul Gofigan:
"Following my request for your resignation as pastor of Santa Barbara Church in Dededo on August 20, 2013 (Prot. No. 013-057), this is to inform you that I am proceeding with the removal process observing the canonical norms."
Had the Archbishop followed canonical norms back in July, there would be no need to begin the "removal process observing the canonical norms" two months later.

DOES THE NCW HAVE PUBLIC CONFESSIONS?

Technically, the Neocatechumenal Way does not have public confessions. Members are asked to share their "crosses". Think of it is as an AA meeting. There is nothing wrong with this of course and it can be, as the AA has proved, the first step towards healing.

THINKING OF VOTING FOR SEN. RESPICIO? THINK AGAIN.

"So I've read where Sen. Rory Respicio has created a "FOIA" Council to increase government transparency. Really? The words "Respicio" and "transparency" in the same sentence?"

WHY THE NEOS NOW WANT TO DUMP THE ARCHBISHOP

There appears to be some discussion amongst some in the Neo-communities as to how to delink the fate of the Neocatechumenal Way on Guam from the fate of Archbishop Apuron.

QUESTION

Does anyone know why Kiko doesn't use his real last name...the one all the way at the end?

IS THAT YOU, FR. ADRIAN?

From Janet B:

Tim - I know who that anonymous is. It is Fr Adrian, who was off-island playing missionary in Denver when the conference took place, so he really does not know what was said.

Instead, typical of his efforts, he merely tries to support anything neo-kiko.

Fr ADrian - you should be horribly ashamed of yourself for all that you have done in the name of the Archbishop's office to hurt so many people. While I don't relieve Tony of responsibility for allowing you to carry your your sub-reign of terror...he is a big boy and should know better, we all know you are the mastermind of all the terrible things being done in the Archdiocese these past few years since you got back from Denver. It was no different when one were the stooge before heading to Denver to lick your wounds. Only now, you seem more vicious than ever.

We know who you are and what you are. We cannot figure out why you are that way.

WE WERE APPALLED...BOTH SAID NOT A THING!

In response to an infantile attack (here and here) on Chuck White for his post on David Atienza's view of Chamorro prayers for the dead, Maria writes the following:

6:47am-- Yet, again, a neo sputtering accusations without factual basis for his accusation. But then, we're all used to your lack of substance-evading-the-issue-no-factual-or-documentation-ways in "the way".

CHAMORRO PRAYERS FOR THE DEAD - THE NEO VIEW

RMS professor, David Atienza has some interesting views about Chamorros:

"...Chamorros believe that personal decisions and behaviors do not determine our salvation, but rather how many prayers our family offers after our death."

Just remember, you are paying for this.

FUN COMMENTS

On my post AT THE HEART OF OUR DIVISIONS wherein I point out two major departures of Kiko's teaching from Catholicism, the following comments ensue:

Anonymous: The Jesuits were accused of heresies. The LAW crucified Christ.

Me: The Jesuits were accused of heresies by who? The law did not crucify Christ. Our sins did. But thanks for letting us know what they teach you in the NCW.

Anonymous: When the Jesuit mixed science and Christianity Timmy. The Gallileo affair. I taught you know everything since your starting your own church. Pope Rohr. LOL!

Another display of the type of neo-defender intelligence that we have become all too used to on this blog: can't spell, can't construct sentences, no clue about anything, and of course, the usual anonymous personal attack. Again, these comments are more useful in discrediting the Neocatechumenal Way than anything I can post. We do appreciate them.

THE XIPHIAS GLADIUS PROJECT

By Chuck White

The Xiphias Gladius Project.  It sounds like something from a sci-fi movie, but it’s not.  ”Xiphias Gladius”, a phrase taken from the Greek and Latin words for “sword”, is the name of a team of Neocatechumenal academics dedicated to researching and teaching the theories of Rene Girard,  a French-born American academic.  Girard is famous for his theory of religious anthropology called “Mimetic Desire.”  I will describe this theory and it’s great danger after I describe how we stumbled upon the issue and the discovered the Xiphias Gladius team.

A PERSONAL TRIBUTE TO A GREAT MAN

Conductor Paul Salmunovich makes his final appearance as conductor of the Los Angeles Master Chorale at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in 2001. (Los Angeles Times / April 20, 2001)

Yesterday, April 3, I had some time between a plane and a train, so I visited the nearby campus of my old college, Loyola Marymount, where I met a friend for lunch and recounted how I had come to Loyola in 1978.

NOT WILLING TO CALL THEM GNOSTICS, BUT....

Anonymous accused me of "paraphrasing" Kiko in my post AT THE HEART OF OUR DIVISIONS. I guess he/she didn't know what the word "paraphasing" means. The quotes I used from Kiko were exact quotes, not paraphrases, and I provided the sources.

AT THE HEART OF OUR DIVISION

At the heart of our faith is the Eucharist. And at the heart of our division with other Christian religions is what we believe about it.

Catholics (and our close Orthodox cousins) believe that when Jesus said "This is my Body...This is my Blood", the bread and wine in his hands truly, actually, and substantially became Him - as it does today in the hands and at the same words of our priests (who are not otherwise impeded).

BOSTON HAS THE SAME QUESTIONS

I hear all the time about how "Tim Rohr is out to destroy the Catholic Church on Guam." Aside from how pathetically grasping, self-incriminating, and laughably untrue that statement is, every question I have posed on this blog relative to the Neocatechumenal Way has been posed elsewhere. And it looks like the Bishop of Boston doesn't want to answer any questions either...other than with pre-manufactured Kiko answers.

http://bostoncatholicinsider.wordpress.com/2012/05/19/neocatechumenate-questions/

Here's an excerpt from one of the comments that we can relate with:
Friends in Denver and Newark have told me that it is standard operating procedure for the RM seminarians to spend more years in formation than they do incardinated in the diocese that paid all their bills.

THE SALVATION OF THE NEW EVANGELIZATION

The following originally appeared as a comment to which I have already replied. However, I would like to examine it again here in a bit more detail.
Zenit 1/20/12 quotes Kiko "What is important, above all, is the fact that the Pope has reiterated that the communities can celebrate the Sunday Mass as a community. It is a sociological fact of immense importance, which means that the small community is the salvation for the New Evangelization. The Eucharist, in fact, creates and forms the Christian community, it makes it stable, unites it."

ROBIN KIKO HOOD

Here's a quote from Kiko when he's about to count the loot that people "donate" during the 2nd Scrutiny Convivence:
“Now we will read the records of the spoil that we have torn from the idols in the victory over the demons. When Israel ends a battle, she picks up the loot, right? So are we. That booty is for the poor, and is the money that the selfishness had taken from the poor.  That is why there are poor people in the world.  There are poor and miserable people who are suffering because there is selfishness in the world, because there is sin.”  Catechetical Directory, Vol. IV
Spoken like a man who never had to care about anybody but himself.
