Just 105 years ago the Catholics of Guam found themselves having to petition the Vatican (thepacificaps.com). Although the issue then may not have been as contentious, since it was about whether German or Spanish Capuchins would guide the Catholics of Guam, the Catholic community united together to petition both Rome and the United States government for what they believed in and thought was best for them. Once again history is repeating itself. The unity of the Catholics of Guam and the Chamarro spirit has contributed to the strong Catholic faith in Guam. Many prayers for those leading this fight.R Yaegernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652940417109665141.post-13160265821778802142015-01-14T15:42:13.009+10:002015-01-14T15:42:13.009+10:00When the Neocatechumenal Way started on Guam, alto...When the Neocatechumenal Way started on Guam, altogether, we became victims. How it led us and continue to lead us in a spiritual warfare between each other. May it's story to the end go down in Guam's history books. It will also show that it took a lay person, and a non Chamorro Man to rise up, defend God's Church, warning us if we take delight in the way. Incredible!
Tim, thank you!
And to you're family, thank you too! Could not have accomplished what did manage to do and will do if it had not been for your constant daily input of a totally bizarre unbelievable tirade of events that no morally normal person would ever believe. You have literally accomplished something extraordinary. You have been the instrument that has changed the mindset of thousands of Catholics on the island of Guam. Through million of words, day after day you chunked down sentences one word at a time. Fearless you revealed truth. This is the one slow tedious action that was required to erode away the generations of fear years from speaking up about the church. You literally mentored thousands of others to do something against their cultural ways. But something they knew that was honorable and right in their hearts and minds. You can die peacefully knowing you did something that made a difference. This is a very blessed time for Guam as 400 years of fear and oppression is being released for the greater good. Real respect for human rights and justice. A God of love is transforming Guam's Catholic from fear to courage. To walk one with God for the greater good of all. It is a beautiful thing knowing this adversity has help people embrace their faith and renew their relationship with God and become Catholics. Amazing Process. So THANK YOU one word at a time.
