Several years ago I attended the weekend catechesis (the three day retreat at the end of the months-long sessions). I recall that there was a catechesis at the time as to why the community received the Sacred Species in their respective manner. I stopped attending the weekend Eucharists for a while but when I did return, they started the new and current practice of standing while the Priest or minister distributes Holy Communion. This of course was after Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI made his recommendations. If they're still continuing receiving Holy Communion in this way, I am not too sure why it is being continued. Perhaps they have to formulate a new catechesis?
While we're on this subject, perhaps you should find that list of recommendations made by Benedict and examine that. I thought that the communities were instructed to eventually have their celebrations in the main church; they were to go to their respective parishes at least once a month... etc. I also believe there was a time frame for them to conform. I will repeat it here:

Because you have asked kindly, I will comply. You sound like a good and intelligent person. Perhaps you would also be willing to tell me why the NCW persists in its particular manner of distribution of Holy Communion. Is there an authorization that the rest of us are unaware of? I look forward to your reply.Timhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01305960063884511003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652940417109665141.post-7128307400161132552014-02-05T22:25:16.072+10:002014-02-05T22:25:16.072+10:00Thank you, Tim for removing the post. We should take delight to see young people supporting the efforts of our Roman Catholic Church. I hope she wasn't discouraged too badly. If you had posted a log of the archbishop's travel and labeled the post "I wonder who paid for it" (I forget your original title), then that would have been fair; but thank you for being a fine gentleman and respecting "Kika's" request. At this point, let's not accuse him of that.

Having said that, I think we should still check it out. He lost our respect as spiritual leader, but we remained silent . Bit the time has come where by we should not just allow him to shoot at us, without making it known he no longer has the respect of Guam. He may stay until 75, but he lost our respect. He will never ever match archbishop Flores who is loved to this day.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652940417109665141.post-45984506012550525402014-02-05T16:18:22.201+10:002014-02-05T16:18:22.201+10:00Wow, our archbishop has made himself a very very r...Wow, our archbishop has made himself a very very rich man at the expense of the people of Guam. He was our Shepherd and by no means deserved any malice because his burden as a leader was so great and after all, he had our best interest in his heart. Being ignorant was bliss because I believed in faith that our Shepherd would always protect his flock maybe he once believed that was his duty. But after all these years of quietly observing, things just did not seem right to me. How unfortunate for us that he has gone off the deep end and has damaged us so much more than any evangelical faction ever could. He forgot about humility and compassion and caring. I noticed lately that whenever he drops some sort of bomb (Fr. Paul or AAA tax), he hops on a plane to go far away so as not to deal with the fallout and returns as though nothing ever happened. Unfortunately (for us), the offences keep piling on top of each other. No, this is not Tim's war. This is the truly the Archbishops war. He has fired shot after shot at his own people and we have taken it, some blindly, like myself, others quietly, praying and hoping for an end. Yet there are others, like Tim, who have spoken out in charity about these wrongs. This blog has opened my eyes to the reality of my beloved Catholic Church on Guam and though I am heartbroken by the Archbishop's actions, I am awakened with a purpose and I want to offer my help to make things right.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652940417109665141.post-79767140347999898652014-02-05T12:06:44.061+10:002014-02-05T12:06:44.061+10:00Tim is correct. As,a citizen of the free world, and a future citizen of heaven, decided to focus on my life with the Lord, rather than be hurt by him or play his games. Honestly, archbishop Apuron hurt many people over the years, many of us went silent, but now I reflect, why do all these things happen, in the last years of his ministry. Can you get away with destroying people for ever. No. Paul Gofigan represents others, he tried to destroy. As you rightly point out. This is a war that has been going on for many years in this archdiocese long before I came along and posted about it. The archbishop has been waging war on his own almost since the day he became the archbishop. I've heard people speak of it for years. Kika La Chika should not underestimate the severity of this situation. It did not initiate on the internet, nor is it only discussed, in importance, online. Maybe she should not relegate herself to just her's and her friends personal opinions on or off the internet, in order to obtain a more clear perspective. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
