I wonder if that's the reason a certain someone didn't serve the Mass.... Hmmmmm. Poor guy tho', I felt kind of sorry for him, he didn't even merit an introduction by the commentator or the presider. He had to introduce himself and announce that he was there with all the responsibles of Yigo and two seminarians. Sorry I wasn't able to record the segment. We have a 'turn off all electronic devices' invitation before Mass begins. How ironic that they use the Mass as a vehicle to give out the invitation. Isn't the Mass, "Joy"? As far as I can see, I am already there. I don't need YOUR invitation. I already accepted the REAL Invitation to Joy! Instead of using a picture of Jesus, why don't they use a picture of Kiko and Carmen on the invitations and billboard/banner? Oh I forgot, the icon that's used resembles kiko's face. If the REAL Church that Jesus established is good enough for Him, then it's more than good enough for me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652940417109665141.post-61936599931589956212015-01-18T12:54:52.494+10:002015-01-18T12:54:52.494+10:00To Anonymous @ 11:14, kudos to the mother that le...To Anonymous @ 11:14, kudos to the mother that left and came back for the final blessing. Educate those who are not in know that the mass will contain a NCW recruitment effort and what the NCW is. Remove the secrecy a little. Perhaps not on Guam, but in many areas the laity is unfamiliar with the NCW. Hey, if I were to have a sarcastic disposition I'd say those are primetime slots.

I'll give you a moment to process that question.

I mean, these organizations and groups also need to recruit new members. We can never have enough members of the congregation take on roles within ministry.

So why can't they do that? Well?

It all comes down to the sanctity of the Mass. It's not rocket science - the faithful come to Mass to basically meditate on the readings of Christ and to offer prayers, not to act as the peanut gallery to your testimony.

As a former Altar Server leader, I taught my recruits one simple rule - we were never to draw attention to ourselves during Mass, because it will take away the attention of the congregation, even for a moment, from the focus of the Mass. For those who aren't following along, I'll give you a hint: his name is Jesus.

Anyways I digress. Keep the recruitment attempts to one specific timeframe: after Mass. Keep the focal point of the Mass (in its entirety) to Jesus.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652940417109665141.post-29579440086858791242015-01-17T18:23:49.685+10:002015-01-17T18:23:49.685+10:00Everyone should understand the grand designs of th...Everyone should understand the grand designs of these Kiko-sessions. They have a very strict and rigid schedule with detailed, predefined agenda. Attendees are considered future surrogates who will carry on the Kiko-cult. You will be formed into a Kiko-church feasting on the Catholic Church with a specific Kiko-hierarchy imposed on you. The word Catholic will be used only as a cover.

You will be told that you have to be "impregnated" by the message of Kiko, making you a spouse of Kiko, doesn't matter if you are male or female. They say an embryo starts to grow in you, fathered by Kiko's words that will lead to gestation, a growth in you as in a womb that ends when faith is born in you. They take it very seriously that Kiko's kerygma impregnates you and fathers your faith. It does not matter for them if you have been a good Catholic for 10, 15 or 20 years, even before these strange catechists came to the faith!

They will replace the name of Jesus in your mind, heart and soul by the name of Abraham. It will be very important that you don't even hear any reference to Jesus. In contrast, you will hear the name of Abraham about 150 times just at the initial session. Afterwards, Abraham's name will be repeated over and over again about 150 times at each subsequent session. Kiko considers Abraham as the founder of faith and not Jesus.

Be aware that all this cannot be done if you are free to speak during these sessions. So they will impose a strict silence on you. The only thing you will be allowed to do is singing Kiko's weirdo songs with them. You'll hear all Kiko's songs have strange tunes and twisted words. Some people should try to stand up and request question-answer session after the catechesis. It will be refused. If you ask about why Kiko's songs must be learned by everyone on these sessions, they will simply throw you out. They will say salvation is not for everyone... But do not be intimidated, be prepared to retort. This will make them grasp for air. Lol.
whispernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652940417109665141.post-39305286790577469022015-01-17T15:51:39.630+10:002015-01-17T15:51:39.630+10:00At least no one needs to record 9:30 mass at the C...At least no one needs to record 9:30 mass at the Cathedral. Jesus personally invites in some cases. In the case of this Sunday's Gospel....the invitation comes from another - Andrew, who invites Simon to meet Jesus. I bet the homily will be a spring board, as Tim suggested, to the "neo-ad" given by a layperson. At Agana & Tamuning, the priest (the "alter christus" who serves "in persona Christi" in the context of the Mass) is going to allow the "other"/layperson to invite. While any invitation to know Christ, Love and Serve Him is all call for ALL the baptized to do, the Church asks us all follow the rubrics for the liturgy. It is as simple as that. The priest offering the Mass should not allow a lay person to add to the homily......even if they claim it is not part of the homily (if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then its a DUCK). If a lay person wants to speak, they can do so after Mass. I pray they follow what the Church asks.

*We really do need a competent Canon Lawyer and Liturgist in our Archdiocese. No real remorse, and in some instances they seem to enjoy talking about the bad things they did.
As others have pointed out, the homily (for valid reasons) should not be tainted. Not once did I feel inspired by testimonies, and in fact it is just the opposite. I sensed how awkward it was, not only for the person giving the testimony, but also for the congregation.
