So basically our leader was demonstrating his vulnerability and needed outside or additional support to help him lead. Well, he got what he needed, a bunch of wanna-be Bishops to run and lead our church and write his speeches and press releases. Another misguided public appearance. Doesn't the Hill have a Public Media or Marketing Person to help AAA and provide him some damage control of HIS crumbling "Empire"? He has a lot of work if he is going to try and "build bridges". It certainly is not working the way he is going about it today. Oh and yes, the NEOCATS get the free ride to Korea. I guess our Archdiocesan Priests are no longer a priority as far as AAA is concerned. Their actions now are just rebuttals and reactions to him purposely giving out false information. How sad it is to be a Archbishop and get caught up in lies that are exposed. Sad but true. Of course no comment from AAA or the Hill to the Media. Again, Wow! He indeed may have felt "lost" in a role, that he has not had the training, vision or leadership skills to administer effectively. He may be like a fish out of water. Because of the title he bears their are expectations that come with it. Perhaps he really didn't know how to carry out the duties effectively. Perhaps he has been trying to survive under the guise of people being subservient. Perhaps he allowed others to make decisions for him and those he liked he acted upon. Perhaps he froze in silence when people stated questioning him and speaking up. Perhaps he retaliated because he was accustomed to subservience. According to reports it seems he has a history getting others to speak for him and write for him. Perhaps in the Neo way he found a place to meet his needs. Structure, decision makers, support, singing and dancing. Perhaps it was there he could "let go" and breathe a sigh of relief. Unlike Bishops else where, he has found comfort with the Neo's and became ONE with them. I do not know of course if any of it would be true for him. I just know however, that "nice people" can be thrust into positions they are not trained for, nor have the skills for. They become "survivors". IF this is what happened to ArChIe then joining the Neo's would make sense for him. I think it would also make sense why he feels safe and secure surrounding himself with Neo leadership. However, it does not make it OK or even acceptable for a lack of planning, organization, time management, memory problems, meta-cognition, sustained attention or unchecked impulsiveness, bullying and procrastination, happening within the leadership and management of the church. Seems a bit like survival tactics. A mindset others are lost. An answer to that may have been consciously or unconsciously to create a passive aggressive manipulative form of persuasion to pressure others to join the Neo Way to feel safe and supported? I dare say PRAY for him and FORGIVE him. Knowing he is doing the best he can, with what he knows and has. Pray for Catholics island wide. With that in mind, let's shuffle our feet taking action for the highest and greatest good of the Catholic church and all Guam's present and future Catholics. I don't believe that this visit was not for the sole purpose to send the message that this blog is bad. I was a student at three Catholic institutions for 11 years (1999-2010). In every one of those years, the Archbishop made visits. They usually involved a mass, a panel session, and a question session. I only ever remember him making one or two comments about theology itself much less anything about the Neocatechumenal Way.

In respect to students asking questions, it was usually the same questions every year - What's your favorite color? Why did you choose to become a priest? How long were you Archbishop? So, I understand that students didn't ask many questions. It's just what kids do when they're not so interested, or don't really have an opinion on what's going on.
