THE IDES OF MARCH BODE WELL THIS TIME AROUND - THANK YOU ARCHBISHOP BYRNES

Posted by Tim Rohr

As I outlined in my post of March 8, WE WAIT, the monstrosities taking place before our eyes now in the Archdiocese of Agana can be traced back to January 2006, when Archbishop Apuron publicly took sides with the Neocatechumenal Way against the magisterial authority of the Holy Catholic Church (vis-a-vis the CDW Instruction of Dec. 1, 2005) as specifically regards the distribution and reception of Holy Communion.

At the root of the NCW's leadership and Apuron's refusal to conform to what the Church required is a fundamental difference of belief about what Holy Communion is. And what Holy Communion is is at the very heart of what is the Holy Catholic Church. Without getting into the theology of it (we've gone there before), the NCW has fought tooth and nail to maintain their illicit practice because it supports Kiko Arguello's illicit (and probably heretical) doctrine

But now, and whereas Apuron was the first bishop in the world to publicly support Kiko's heresy and illicit communion rite, Archbishop Byrnes appears to be the first bishop in the world to publicly DEMAND that it be abrogated and that the norms of the Holy Catholic Church be maintained.

I say the "first bishop in the world" because I am not aware of any other bishop, even those who have imposed a moratorium on the NCW, who have directly targeted the illicit practice and demanded full obedience of the NCW to what the GIRM requires and what the NCW Statute permits.

I say if we can trust Archbishop Byrnes to do the right thing in this regard, the very center of the division, then we can trust him moving forward on the many other things. That does not mean we can relax our vigilance. The Kiko's will wage an all out underground war against Byrnes and try to trip him up, or, failing that, they will simply continue to disobey as they have from the beginning. We must help Archbishop Byrnes continue to do the right thing.

Meanwhile: APURON OUT!

BODY OF CHRIST (Part 2)

Posted by Bruce Williams

"And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel." (Genesis 3:15)

The NCW downplays the role of the Mother of God, who by her FIAT, bore the Son of God, Jesus Christ. This was made possible by her "Immaculate Conception." Her womb became a spotless vessel for the God made man.

She is the Co-Redemptoris, the New Eve, whom the serpent has no power over. The NCW is an enemy of the Church and like a snake who hides in the grass, will be crushed beneath her heal.

THE BODY OF CHRIST

Posted by Bruce Williams

The Greatest Love story of all time is contained in a tiny white host.
-Venerable Bishop Fulton J. Sheen

We go to Mass to adore, worship and receive the Body of Christ in the Eucharist. This fact is so evident at a 6am Mass during the week. No bells and whistles. No homily or music or altar servers or congregation is necessary for the priest to celebrate the sacrifice of the Mass.

The NCW DO NOT believe in the Real Presence! This is the principle cause of the division in the Church, on Guam, and where ever the WAY sets up shop!

FROM ANTOINE RAY GARRIDO TAJALLE aka MR. A. T.

Antoine Ray Garrido Tajalle aka Mr. A.T. has left a new comment on your post "MY REPLY":
Dear Anonymous at 8:38pm,
Dont be a coward, next time sign your name to your accusation. I probably know you because you obviously know that my automatic "signature" for my gmail account ends with the popular quote from Saint Pio, "PRAY, HOPE AND DONT WORRY".
Sorry to burst your bubble but the comment above is not from me.

APURON: "EVEN THE WAY WE'RE RECEIVING COMMUNION."

On December 15, 2014, Archbishop Apuron paid a pastoral visit to St. Francis Parish in Yona. Let us take a closer look at this particular question and answer between parishioner Thomas Tanaka and Archbishop Apuron:

TANAKA:

Archbishop, I am concerned that the celebration of the Eucharist in the neocatechumenal communities is not in compliance with the exceptions to the liturgical books permitted in Statute of the Neocatechumenal Way.

The people receive the sacred host standing, but they do not consume it immediately as the rest of us are required to do. They wait till all have received then they sit and consume.

WE WAIT ANXIOUSLY TO SEE IT

Yesterday, December 15, Archbishop Apuron did a pastoral visit to St. Francis Parish in Yona. During the opportunity for Q & A, parishioner Tommy Tanaka read a list of concerns to the Archbishop. The following is one of them:

Archbishop, I am concerned that the celebration of the Eucharist in the neocatechumenal communities is not in compliance with the exceptions to the liturgical books permitted in Statute of the Neocatechumenal Way.

The people receive the sacred host standing, but they do not consume it immediately as the rest of us are required to do. They wait till all have received then they sit and then consume.

Is this practice of sitting to consume the consecrated host permitted by Rome, and if so, where?

And if it is permitted by Rome, why have you not made it clear to the entire diocese that this practice is permitted so that we are not scandalized by what we perceive to be a violation of liturgical norms?

This is a major concern for us because this practice separate the neocatechumenal way from the rest of the faithful and we feel that you have an obligation to clarify it for us.

According to some who were there, the Archbishop replied that the neocatechumenal way of distributing Holy Communion "was approved", but that he would have to look up the source.

If this is what he said, then great. We look forward to "the source". Because it must have come very recently since Benedict XVI, in an audience with the Neocatechumenal Way in 2012 said:

"The Decree approving the celebrations listed in the 'Catechetical Directory of the Neocatechumenal Way' has just been read. They are not strictly speaking liturgical but are part of the itinerary of growth in faith...It is the task of the celebration in the small communities — regulated by the liturgical books that must be faithfully followed, with the details approved in the Statue of the Way..."

- ADDRESS OF HIS HOLINESS BENEDICT XVI TO THE COMMUNITY OF THE NEOCATECHUMENAL WAY, Paul VI Hall, Friday, 20 January 2012

There is NOTHING in the Statute of the Way which permits a communicant to sit and consume. There is NOTHING in the Statute of the Way which permits the priest to delay his own communion until he has first distributed the sacred host to the communicants.

Yet these are the practices of Archbishop Apuron himself when he celebrates his neo-eucharist with his community and the practice of every single neocatechumenal community. So the permission, the Archbishop is said to have referred to must have been granted since January 20, 2012.

We wait anxiously to see it.

THE NCW COMMUNION RITE - WHAT THE POPE'S REALLY SAID

It is not the fault of most members of the Neocatechumenal Way that they are participating in an illicit communion rite. However, it IS the fault of their leadership. That same leadership likes to trumpet the approval of the popes. So, relative to the NCW manner of distributing Holy Communion, here is what the "popes" have actually said:

12/01/05 - Pope Benedict, via the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Sacraments, directs the leadership of the Neocatechumenal Way to conform its manner of distributing Holy Communion to the liturgical books:
"On the manner of receiving Holy Communion, a period of transition (not exceeding two years) is granted to the Neocatechumenal Way to pass from the widespread manner of receiving Holy Communion in its communities (seated, with a cloth-covered table placed at the center of the church instead of the dedicated altar in the sanctuary) to the normal way in which the entire Church receives Holy Communion. This means that the Neocatechumenal Way must begin to adopt the manner of distributing the Body and Blood of Christ that is provided in the liturgical books." - Congregatio de Cultu Divino et Disciplina Sacramentorum. Prot. 2520/03/L. From Vatican City, December 1, 2005. To the esteemed Mr. Kiko Argüello, Ms. Carmen Hernandez, and Rev. Father Mario Pezzi.

01/12/06 - Pope Benedict personally confirms that the above instruction was "imparted to you in my name" and that he expected the NCW to "attentively observe these norms...provided for in the liturgical books approved by the Church":
Precisely to help the Neocatechumenal Way to render even more effective its evangelizing action in communion with all the People of God, the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments recently imparted to you in my name certain norms concerning the Eucharistic Celebration, after the trial period that the Servant of God John Paul II conceded. I am sure you will attentively observe these norms that reflect what is provided for in the liturgical books approved by the Church. - ADDRESS OF HIS HOLINESS BENEDICT XVI TO MEMBERS OF THE NEOCATECHUMENAL WAY. Paul VI Audience Hall. Thursday, 12 January 2006
01/20/12 - Pope Benedict clarifies that he is approving ONLY those "celebrations listed in the Catechetical Directory of the Neocatechumenal Way" that are NOT "strictly speaking liturgical", but are those celebrations which are particular to Neocatechumenal Way:
"The Decree approving the celebrations listed in the “Catechetical Directory of the Neocatechumenal Way” has just been read. They are not strictly speaking liturgical but are part of the itinerary of growth in faith."
The pope uses careful language here but to make sure it is understood that he is NOT approving the liturgical anomalies practiced by the NCW in its celebration of the Eucharist, he emphasizes that the Eucharistic celebration continues to be "regulated by the liturgical books that must be faithfully followed, with the details approved in the Statute of the Way":
"It is the task of the celebration in the small communities — regulated by the liturgical books that must be faithfully followed, with the details approved in the Statue of the Way." - ADDRESS OF HIS HOLINESS BENEDICT XVI TO THE COMMUNITY OF THE NEOCATECHUMENAL WAY. Paul VI Hall. Friday, 20 January 2012
NOTE: Those details, as found in Art. 13 of the Statute of the Way are as follows:
  1. Communicants may remain in their place to receive communion STANDING (there is no permission to sit to consume or for the priest to delay his communion).
  2. Communion may be received under both species.
  3. The Sign of Peace may be moved to before the Offertory.
04/03/2014 - Pope Francis reminds Kiko Arguello that the Sunday Eucharist is regulated by the Statute of the Neocatechumenal Way. He makes no mention of any other document permitting any addition or variance to the regulation of the liturgy as found in the Statute:
"...as far as it pertains to the celebrations of the Paschal Vigil and the Sunday Eucharist, mentioned by you, articles 12 and 13, read in their entirety, constitute therefore the regulatory charter of reference."   - Archbishop Angelo Becciu's Letter to Kiko Arguello. Vatican, April 3rd, 2014.
