MEETING WITH NUNCIO: UPDATE
Archbishop Krebs is reported to have said that Rome cannot solve our problems, that we have to solve them ourselves. We know that. Rome normally does not intervene in internal diocesan problems. It depends on the bishop to resolve them. However, our bishop IS the problem. He knows this and he does not care. And before Archbishop Krebs leaves, he will know it too. Then we shall see.
POW! MAJOR UPDATE!
True to form, Archbishop Apuron tried to hijack the very important meeting with the clergy this afternoon with Archbishop Krebs. Instead of letting Archbishop Krebs speak, Apuron had Deacon Kim, the finance officer, go on for about 15 minutes about diocesan finances.
This very important meeting was only to last an hour, and already 15 precious minutes had been hijacked with financial report mumbo jumbo. WTH! But typical Apuron tactic.
Thank God for Msgr. David I.A. Quitugua for getting up and stopping Kim and reminding everyone in the room that they were there to hear from the Papal Nuncio. Msgr. David must have encouraged others to speak up and they did. In the presence of Archbishop Apuron the clergy demanded a private meeting with Archbishop Krebs with Apuron NOT IN THE ROOM.
FRENCHIE KNOWS...
One thing is obvious. The Chancery is keeping the situation as opaque as possible. Non NCW diocesan priest, are moved, retired, fired or at best not incardinated if they refuse to bow to his lordship Archbishop Anthony Apuron.
This a perverse game of musical chairs, which seems to accelerate of late. The murkier the situation the more difficult it is for the Catholic of this Diocese to make sense of what is happening.

A NEO DIRECTORY OF PARISHES
We've had requests for a list of "neo parishes and priests". Apparently people are increasingly wanting to know where else they can go once their parish is "taken over."
The following is the parish information currently posted on the Archdiocese's website. The "neo-priests" are highlighted in yellow.
While we are not able to designate "neo-parishes", it can be assumed that if a neo-priest occupies the position of pastor in a parish that the Neocatechumenal Way has been implemented in the parish.
Some of this information as found on the AOA website is incorrect.. If you know of changes, please advise. We will make this post into a page in the near future where it will serve as a permanent reference.

Archbishop Krebs' arrival delayed due to tropical storm

The arrival of Archbishop Martin Krebs, apostolic delegate to the Pacific islands, was delayed by a day due to the passing tropical storm.
Krebs was expected to arrive on Guam Saturday, but because of the passing Tropical Storm 09W, his flight was delayed by one day.
Krebs arrived last night, according to a press release from the Archdiocese of Agana.
Krebs was scheduled to join Father Gus Gumataotao at Mass yesterday at St. Jude Thaddeus Church in Sinajana, but as a result of the delay wasn't able to attend.
Anthony Sablan Apuron, archbishop of the Archdiocese of Agana, said last week he welcomes Archbishop Krebs to the island and to the Archdiocese.
"Archbishop Krebs will have an open ear for our groups and individuals who wish to share their input with the delegate," he said.
The archbishop's visit comes amid recent calls from the local community for more transparency on the part of the Archdiocese.

WHICH IS IT, ARCHBISHOP?
Archbishop Apuron is refusing to include the financials of Redemptoris Mater Seminary in a proposed archdiocesan report on the grounds that the Seminary is a corporation separate from the Archdiocese of Agana.
This is curious because in order to justify his demand for the transfer of Title to the multi-million dollar former Accion Hotel property from the Archdiocese of Agana to Redemptoris Mater Seminary, Archbishop Apuron wrote the then-members of the Archdiocesan Finance Council on 16 November 2011:
...the Seminary is canonically a public juridic person (canon 238) subject in toto to the jurisdiction of the Ordinary. Also, from a civil point of view, the Seminary is a Corporation-Sole in which the Sole-member is the Ordinary with absolute powers who remains, in any case, the exclusive holder of the Title to Property.

TO ARCHBISHOP MARTIN KREBS RE CONCERNS SPECIFIC TO THE NEOCATECHUMENAL WAY
Dear Archbishop Krebs,
Many of the laity have asked to meet with you and express their concerns. The fact that there are so many and so many concerns should itself speak loudly of our grave situation here. We know that you will not be able to meet with everyone and that many have already expressed their concerns to you via email.
Since your time with us is limited, I was asked to post the following list of concerns specific to the Neocatechumenal Way as it is experienced here in Guam. These concerns have been collected and compiled from the many comments and emails I have received. There are many more.
SO HERE'S WHAT THEY'RE GONNA DO
Archbishop Apuron knows that there is NO good reason NOT to publish the diocesan financials. He knows that the Vatican has urged transparency at every level of the church. He knows that Pope Francis himself has personally called for it. He knows that the U.S. bishops have had a transparency policy in place for over a decade. He knows that almost every other diocese has already complied with the policy. And he knows that he CANNOT comply lest we all see where the money is coming and going.
However, he also knows that the jig is up, that we are not going away, that the major media is finding this story ever more juicy, that his usual tactic of silence on this issue is NOT going to work, and that his pathetic "let's meet" response to the anonymous public call for transparency was worse than if he had said nothing at all.
THE STENCH OF SULPHUR
Alas, the Kiko's can not stop scratching themselves over having been exposed for lying to their own about the supposed invitation from Cardinal Tagle to come to Manila to worship at the feet of their prophet.
As you may recall, rather than admit that they had lied, they attacked me like rabid cats for exposing their lie by posting Cardinal Tagle's letter stating he had NOT invited them.
The truly crazy part is that if Jennifer Dulla/U Matuna/Chancery had actually posted the retraction as the Cardinal had requested, I would never have posted the letter. But no. Having been caught in the lie, in fact - as we now see - lie after lie after lie, the Kiko's simply turn rabid and hateful, even claiming that I stole the Cardinal's letter! YESTERDAY: MOST VIEWS EVER
JULY 10. Most views ever in one day. People care! Pay attention! Archbishop, though, says he doesn't respond to Tim Rohr's "blogs". Apparently he doesn't know that this is not just Tim Rohr. He will.
The storm may be doing us a favor. If the Nuncio's trip here is delayed, we will have more time to compile documentation. Interested members of the laity will also have more time to email him if you would like to meet with him privately. You may also want to contact your village mayors with your concerns since they for sure will be meeting with him. You may want to first contact Mayor Hoffman of Sinajana to find out which mayors will be at the meeting.

Church disclosure urged
It used to be taboo for Guam parishioners to ask Catholic Church leadership to be open about the handling of church funds, but under the new pope, it's what parishioners expect, Sinajana Mayor Robert Hofmann said yesterday.
A group calling itself Concerned Catholics of Guam last week published a notice in the Pacific Daily News, calling on the Archdiocese of Agana to publish audited financial statements annually on the Internet, like other Catholic churches in the country have done.
DEAR ARCHBISHOP KREBS
We thank you for your visit and for your wish to celebrate Mass with us (Sunday, St. Jude's, Sinajana, 8:30am). I heard the pastor there, Fr. Gus, took quite a grilling from Archbishop Apuron when he found out that you would be mixing with us little people. But no worries. We think it's great that you will be celebrating Mass in an ordinary village parish.
We have also heard that you may be joining Archbishop Apuron and his personal Neo-community at his home for their Saturday night Neo-Eucharist, or perhaps attend a Neo-Eucharist at the Neo-Seminary.
Either way, we are hoping that Archbishop Apuron, who is sure to celebrate in either location, will not make an exception for your presence and cheat you out of experiencing an authentic Neo-Eucharist, complete with the congregation standing during the consecration, distributing the consecrated host to the communicants before his own communion, and everyone consuming the host while seated.
If these practices are permitted and regularly practiced, then Archbishop Apuron SHOULD NOT change them to conform to the liturgical books simply because you will be there. In fact, he may show you the documents permitting these practices, in which case you can then put all our questions to rest since he won't.
I also hope that they will not omit the dancing around the flower-laden table in the end. Maybe you will be moved to join them. Given your heritage a polka or at least a Strauss waltz would be more appropriate. But alas, nothing but Kiko Arguello-approved dance steps will be permitted. I hear they are not hard though. Nevertheless, enjoy!

Note: "Subject property" refers to those lots, located in Yona, which once made up the Accion Hotel property, were deeded in 2002 to the Archdiocese of Agana, and are now occupied by the Redemptoris Mater Seminary (RMS).
As noted previously, Archbishop Apuron was at first in full agreement with the AFC (Archdiocesan Finance Council) when in September of 2011 four of the five members, in the presence of Archbishop Apuron, decided NOT to transfer the title of the subject property to RMS. However, two months later, something, or someone, made him change his mind.

Glad to be Back to Holy Mother ChurchHMMMM...
So I heard that the Chancery was not very happy with Fr. Paul's interview on the radio yesterday. I wonder what sort of back-handed retribution they have in mind? As you know, no good deed goes unpunished by "the Hill".
I say "back-handed" because the Chancery knows they cannot do anything visible - like canceling Fr. Paul's upcoming series of youth events (see below) - especially with Rome now knocking on our door. So they'll try to hurt him some other way. Just watch.
By the way, listen to the interview. You will hear that Fr. Paul did not bring up any of the issues he is having with the Archbishop, and when the host did, he handled it very diplomatically. Maybe that's why they want to hurt him even more. He's winning hearts.

It would appear that this is also one lesson the Archbishop has taken to heart. He will obey Kiko and Pius no matter what they ask him to do. This is truly a sad era for our Archdiocese. To think that we are getting ready to celebrate 70 years of freedom from Japanese occupation, but now we have another type of occupation on our shores.
When will we get to celebrate VK Day? (Victory over Kiko Day). I celebrated my personal VK 2.4 years ago! Praise be to God for that.
