It was on the eve of my daughter's wedding that I came back to our BnB in San Diego and saw this story in the Umatuna:
We'll revisit all that soon because while the whole filthy mess has finally been exposed and the property is back where it should be, there is a trail of blood from top to bottom and we are NOT going to let the back door operators just disappear.
The first step is what appeared in the same Umatuna, almost a year to the date later:
Here is what it says:
By TONY C. DIAZ
Umatuna Si Yuꞌos
The Archdiocese of Agana’s newspaper, the Umatuna Si Yuꞌos is correcting previous information published in these same pages on Nov. 29, 2015.
An article provided to the Umatuna published on the front page of the newspaper on that date featured the headline, “Ownership of Seminary property confirmed”. It stated, “The Archbishop of Agana is the legal and sole owner of the Redemptoris Mater Seminary of Guam in Yona (former Hotel Accion property) according to the Certificates of Title issued by the Government of Guam, Department of Land Management.”
After examining a copy of the Declaration of Deed Restriction issued by the Department of Land Management on Nov. 22, 2011, the Umatuna reports that the information carried on the front page article on Nov. 29, 2015 was erroneous.
The Declaration of Deed Restriction clearly stated:
“NOW, THEREFORE, KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that the Owner hereby covenants and declares that the Property is and shall be held, used, transferred, sold and conveyed subject to the covenants and restrictions set forth herein:
Declaration. The Property shall be dedicated, to and for the use, of the REDEMPTORIS MATER ARCHDIOCESAN MISSIONARY SEMINARY OF GUAM, A NON-PROFIT COPORATION WITH IDENTIFICATION NUMBER #66-0626532, IN PERPETUAL USE AS A SEE OF THE REDEMPTORIS MATER ARCHDIOCESAN MISSIONARY SEMINARY OF GUAM, AND BY THE BLESSED DIEGO LUIS DE SAN VITORES CATHOLIC THEOLOGICAL INSTITUTE FOR OCEANIA.
The story of the Nov. 29, 2015 issue written “For the Umatuna Si Yuꞌos” was accompanied by a photocopied image of the Certificate of Title issued by the Department of Land Management.
However, the Nov. 29 newspaper article did not include any mention of or information about the Declaration of Deed Restriction.
The Umatuna apologizes for the error.
This week, the Archdiocese announced that it has “acted to transfer complete and unrestricted control and possession of the Yona property back to the Archdiocese of Agaña.” This was done, “through Archbishop Michael Jude Byrnes and concurred by Archbishop Savio Hon, with advice and support of both the Archdiocesan Finance Council and Presbyteral Council.”

IT WAS NO ERROR
Thank you tim for your hard work and dedication to your faith and for the truth. You've exposed a lot within this diocese and guam should be proud to have you. God bless you and your family for all your sacrifices.
ReplyDeleteI don't see any trained lawyers flapping their lips these days. Diana doesn't even count as a trained lawyer. He just plain STUPID and even saying that mother dawn was ignorant. But see that's the way these stupid neos think of people who pray for the entire community. It's either they walk in THEIR WAY or their just ignorant of their beliefs.
ReplyDeleteBut they say they are Catholic even though they love celebrating at hotels and stealing or taking advantage of the church. Just dum hypocrite neos idiots.
That was no error. It was a blatant cover up by Monsignor David and his Neo counterparts. Tony Diaz is not without fault in this also. Before you print something you should check the facts. It's not as if he wasn't made aware before it was ever published.
ReplyDeleteSome would say that Monsignor Quitugua (Lurch) should be arrested for knowingly publishing a fake government document. I totally agree with them.
ReplyDeleteHe attempted to deceive using a false government document. I'm on it.
DeleteIf possible, see what can be done with other individuals involved in the scandal - attorneys, government officials, etc. We need to root out the filth wherever we find it.
DeleteIt's probably immaterial, but as I read the 2016 article written by Tony C. Diaz I couldn't help wondering just who authored the "article provided to the Umatuna published on the front page of the newspaper on that date …" (29 November 2015)
ReplyDeleteThe byline of the 29 November 2015 article only indicated it had been written "For the Umatuna Si Yu'os." The fact that it had also been " … approved by Monsignor David C. Quitugua, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Agana" leads me to presume that most likely the author(s) can be linked to the NeoCatechumenal Way.
In light of the fact that the discovery of the Declaration of Deed Restriction on the Yona property had been revealed as early as January 2015 — ten months prior to the publication of the article in question — it's abundantly clear that there was absolutely NO EFFORT MADE to validate its contents by the editor and/or staff of the "Roman Catholic Newspaper of the Archdiocese of Agana."
"The Umatuna apologizes for the error" — seriously??? Does anyone actually believe an error was made?
Will anyone be held accountable? I doubt it.
UMMM TONY DIAZ,
ReplyDeleteYOU NEED TO PUBLISH MORE OF THOSE ERROR CORRECTION FRONT PAGERS!
MOST ESPECIALLY FOR THE MOLESTATION & RAPE VICTIMS.
AND CLEARING MSGR. JAMES FROM ALL THOSE SMEAR CAMPAIGNS THAT WERE NOT JUST FRONT PAGERS BUT WERE INSERTS, TOO. JUST SO EVERYONE READS AND THOSE NEOFU*CKERS WANTED TO TARNISH MSGR. JAMES' NAME, TO THE CORE!
DO THOSE NOW! PROVE THAT YOU'RE ACTUALLY SORRY FOR GOING ALONG WITH MAKING THIS CATHOLIC NEWSPAPER JUST A TABLOID RAG FOR A LONG WHILE!
Will AG Anderson and Mike Borja, Director of Land management claim their actions and decisions as an error as well? They need to resign!
ReplyDeleteGovernment officials interfering with Church issues! Both the Dept of Land Mgmt and the AG's Office had sinister hands in the coverup for making disappear the CT which deleted Apuron's Deed of Restriction. Don't forget that Asst AG Finney said she had to "work something out" first with the then Chancery Attorney (the learned one), before issuing an internally corrected CT - despite the decision the AG had quickly made earlier that "the only way to correct a CT is to bring it to Court", but just as quickly changed her mind and said that a DLM internal correction was legally sufficient - but this AFTER a "deal" was cut with the Neo learned attorney.
DeleteFor sure these government officials should be held accountable for their role in the "error" the Umatuna editor referred to.
Shame, GovGuam officials! Keep your cotton picking hands off internal church affairs. It was Church officials (Archbishop Byrnes) who corrected the wrong - despite your cooperative efforts to "work something out" with the Neo learned attorney. Now you have marred your integrity!
These officials should be held accountable for the sordid roles they played! Were they all Neos too - making birds of a feather flock together??
Is Tony Diaz finally seeing the light and having second thoughts about Apuron and the NCW after the reveal of bombs these past few weeks? Far be it for JW to say we told you so, Dammit Tony we told you so..Those NEO's Apuron, Quitugua, Adrian, Marian, Claros, Kim, Putrid, Alberto, the whole lot of them are Liars..and when you hang out with Liars, their juju rubs on you too.
ReplyDeleteTony Diaz, You are a year late and many thousands short. What do you hope to accomplish with your "Errata", especially since many have been hurt and evidence acquired by the efforts of many to expose the lies that you and your publisher printed purposely to deceive the people of Guam. You should have listened to the voice of concerns by many at that time, it is usually an indication that there is something wrong. As the editor, it is your responsibility to insure that what is published has been verified for factual accuracy. Perhaps you should consider resigning as you are unable to effectively carry out the responsibility of this work.
ReplyDeleteCall a spade a spade. This Umatuna headline was never an error but
ReplyDeletea deliberate lie and coverup perpetrated by the Chancery to deceive the faithful Catholics. Certainly, we also have to question the
motivation of the AG and DLM snd their role in this duplicity. Ann A.
Yes. It was a deliberate attempt to deceive orchestrated by the trained lawyer and the Vicar General with the willing assistance of the Umatuna. We'll get to that soon.
DeleteTim, I believe that when the editor of the Umatuna prints that the lie was "an error" he’s just allowing the lie to continue. That’s plain and simple to see. You don’t fool us, Editor Tony Diaz. You need to resign and step down so Archbishop Byrnes can appoint a new editor for the Umatuna and so Catholics can trust the Umatuna again. The Umatuna is our only source for Church news and information but you allowed lies to be printed and truths to be covered up. What would have been better to see in the Umatuna was, at least, a printed public apology from the editor for allowing lies to be printed and for cooperating with the NCW and their lies. Thank goodness for Mother Dawn and the Carmelites and their honesty. Since we’re cleaning house, the weeding out needs to be done in all areas and levels in our archdiocese and in the chancery. That’s just the way that consequences should fall on those who have a responsible position but don’t do what is right or even care to stand up for what is right. We don’t want to be silent anymore and won’t tolerate abuses in all areas and levels in our Church anymore. We expect our shepherds, pastors and leaders in our archdiocese, chancery and in our parishes to follow ethical and honest ways, and have the back bone to do what is right and stand by what is right, no matter what. That code of honesty goes for the editor of the Umatuna, too.
