It is time to go back and see what it is that Pius and Genarrini worked so hard on, and why they used Apuron to get what they wanted.

I shall leave our good friend Bob Klitzkie to pursue the real estate fiasco, regarding this property, since he has become the de facto specialist of this sad swindle of both the original gift giver and the further snow job given to us, courtesy of our not such good friends in New Jersey.

It is rather illuminating, in retrospect that the three individuals, most involved  in the establishment of a Neocatechumenal Seminary on Guam, under the false pretense that it was a Diocesan operation, thanks to their manipulation of our failed Bishop; are still in place, and so far have not been subjected to any kind of inquiry of any sort regarding their misdeeds.

Pius, Cristobal and Quitagua, the triumvirate of the backroom deals and of false statements are still here.

RIGHT! AND THIS IS ALL WE ARE ASKING.

Archbishop Apuron has shown that he is obsessed with accountability when it comes to the entities formerly run by Msgr. James, and just as obsessed with a lack of accountability when it comes to his own affairs.

The CCOG and others have consistently called on the archbishop to be accountable and transparent in financial matters. He has refused.

However, for those of us who continue to ask, be it known that we are in good company: Pope Francis.

By approving the statutes of the Secretariat for the Economy with only a few minor modifications, the Pope signaled his support for Cardinal George Pell, who is determined to bring accountability and financial transparency to the Vatican.

NOW IT'S OUR TURN - STEP 2

In NOW IT'S OUR TURN, I recommended that in response to Archbishop Apuron's non-response we do two things: 1) STOP THE MONEY. Do not give to the Archdiocesan Appeal since Archbishop Apuron refuses to be accountable to us for our money.

Step 2 is as follows:

SO HERE'S WHAT THEY'RE GONNA DO

Archbishop Apuron knows that there is NO good reason NOT to publish the diocesan financials. He knows that the Vatican has urged transparency at every level of the church. He knows that Pope Francis himself has personally called for it. He knows that the U.S. bishops have had a transparency policy in place for over a decade. He knows that almost every other diocese has already complied with the policy. And he knows that he CANNOT comply lest we all see where the money is coming and going.

However, he also knows that the jig is up, that we are not going away, that the major media is finding this story ever more juicy, that his usual tactic of silence on this issue is NOT going to work, and that his pathetic "let's meet" response to the anonymous public call for transparency was worse than if he had said nothing at all.
