MORE ON THE RON RICHARDS KERFUFFLE

From the look of things, this story still has some legs.

After articles here, but also on Church Militant, many questions have been raised, most of them without good answers. This weekend Kandit News followed up with an article of their own, which brought more questions, following less than candid answers from the Chancery through their spokesman.

Lets review that issue first. Following some pointed questions by Troy Torres, himself a victim of the Apuron administration, Mr Diaz (a holdout of the Apuron era, like most permanent staff at the Chancery), answered the following:

*"The Archdiocese has viewed the post on social media regarding the ministry of Fr Ron Richards in the Archdiocese of Detroit, including his personal message to the congregation of his parish. That's the extent of what we know"

*'Fr Ron formerly served with us temporary as Episcopal Vicar, before leaving us on May 31 2022 and returning to the Archdiocese of Detroit, a year and a half ago"

*"He served the Church faithfully, properly and effectively during his time with us. We care for his well being, and offer prayers for him"

FAKE JOURNALISM AT PNC TAKING SIDE WITH LLG

Sycophant extraordinaire, wannabe journalist, and brown noser to the rich and famous,
Jeffrey Marchesseault, of PNC News firts, did not miss the opportunity to prove that when it came down to fake journalism, Guam had nothing to envy the Mainland.

In his column of Tuesday October 16, titled "Broadching and Bridging the Abortion Divide"; our local candidate for the best platitudes in journalism, did a fantastic job, demonstrating how low people of the fourth estate can stoop to, when their career ambitions inspire them to defend untenable positions.

I think the level of disinformation and fake balance of that particular piece, was an amazing demonstration of the elasticity of journalism, when it comes to describe the mental split necessary to achieve, in order to bridge fiction with reality.

Lets be sure that the LOU & Josh campaign cadre will have appreciated his emulation of the best plagiarism of a Neocat's speech.

DON'T WE DESERVE BETTER THAN A BUNCH OF AMATEURS??

A follow up on our story on KOLG's manager conflict of interest.

One might think that the people responsible at the Chancery for the integrity of their offices would take things seriously .

Unfortunately it does not seem to be the case.

Pale Mike, who was just voted best parish priest in the Pika yearly survey, apparently does not have much common sense.

Surely he is a nice guy, but we need leaders, not nice guys.

As the go to, responsible for KOLG, Pale Mike should have asked Therese Arroyo Matanane, the general manager of the island's Catholic radio station, for her immediate resignation, as soon as he was made aware of her decision to take a paid position as Press secretary for the Campaign of Lou Leon Guerrero.

Instead nothing happened.
Even when members of the staff threatened to quit over the issue, the reaction of the Chancery was a lackluster series of attempt at covering their butt.
A first meeting was cancelled at the last minute, and finally when this blog exposed the whole disaster, another meeting was convened, which did not amount to much.

I guess 30 years of Apuron's leadership cannot be wiped out overnight.

The Best thing Father Mike, Tony Diaz (the communication director) and Paul Fisher (the Chancellor) could come up with was that Mrs Mantanane was on a leave of absence.

NEW CCOG PREXY IS OUR EARS ON HON

AB Hon who at one time wouldn't even give Walter Denton the time of day, now apparently has talkitis--a press conference, radio and newspaper interviews, on-and-on. It's funny how being served with a summon and complaint bearing his name so suddenly caused a metamorphosis from no-talk to talkitis!  

But an increase in quantity was not matched by an improvement in quality.  It's still all Hon Doublespeak.

Today Hon took to the airwaves of the Chancery's own radio station, KOLG to be interviewed by the Chancery's equivalent of Mike Wallace, Tony Diaz, that is. Fortunately for us newly elected CCOG President Dave Sablan was listening in to Tony's hard-hitting interview.  Dave put together a summary of the interview and included his well taken comments in red:

Dear Tony,

Please tell us that you did not have a hand in this lie. Most people I know still respect you and believe that you are doing your best in a difficult situation. But this is a lie. There were not "errors in the original edition". The original edition had a full hit piece on Msgr. James (AGAIN) and it was only recalled when the Archbishop got "that letter" stamped "Received" last Friday at 4:10PM. Don't you know that I and others have the full copy of that article? Please distance yourself from this grossly corrupt group while you can.

Dear Tony,

Your column in this weekend's U Matuna is well-written. I commend you for your courage in calling a spade a spade:

"One of the most obvious and most painful fractures that many of us have had to witness is the shattered relationship between our Shepherd on Guam and our clergy in the Archdiocese of Agana."

You went on to sound the trumpet of hope and called on the Archbishop and the clergy to build unity:

"So please, our beloved Archbishop, our dear brother priests, as the Apostolic Delegate and official representative of the Holy Father said during his recent visit to Guam: build unity, build bridges."
