For those who have followed this blog for awhile, you may remember when my enemies posted many anonymous comments attempting to discredit me with accusations made by certain members of my family in a court proceeding that has been long since concluded and resolved. 

Because I don't want to harm the members of my family who made those false allegations, I won't go into details other than to say that I know that at least one of them was recruited by the haters who were trying to save then-Archbishop Apuron. 

Despite the resolution of this personal matter and the absence of further attacks on me on this blog, apparently the enemies are migrating to Chuck White's blog, ThoughtfulCatholic.com

In a post titled KIKO'S ICONS,  an anonymous poster leaves this comment:

The first part is directed at Chuck and the second part directed at me - with the implied threat to Chuck that his family will suffer too if he continues to question Kiko Arguello - the founder of the Neocatechumenal Way. 

The commenter makes a big deal about how one must "know the man" before we can question him. It's the usual absurd neo-nonsense. 

In the real world, people, policies, ideas, writings, whatever can and should be questioned by thinking people. We do not need to personally know someone to question his or her output. Do you need to personally know Pope Paul VI in order to question "Humanae Vitae," or President Trump in order to question his policies? 

Of course not. But when it comes to the Neocats and their sacred savior, Kiko Arguello, all sense and logic is lost. And they wonder why we call it a cult.

SO THERE ARE TWO CHOSEN PEOPLES....?

Once again, I confess that I NEVER bother with the DIANA blog. However, from time to time, others do send me links to posts they think are "Jungle-worthy." 

And perhaps, here's one. 

The DIANA, who claims to only speak for herself and not The Neocatechumenal Way (NCW) - which she constantly speaks for - says - within the current context of the Israel v Hamas conflict - that she "stands with Israel."

As an aside, I stand with the innocent on both sides - seeing that the innocent on both sides are victims of what Bob Dylan once labeled "Masters of War" half a century ago. 

But beyond the current and terrible atrocities committed by both sides, there remains the issue that is at the root of this ongoing agony. 

Contrary to much modern thinking that the current atrocities are simply the latest manifestations of an ancient, ongoing war that we can do nothing about...well, this is not true.

If the reader will permit me to reference the recent scholarly post by Frenchie, the current atrocities are a direct result of the Heresy of Christian Zionism, which not only dates back to the 1800's as some hold, but back to the 1500's and the Protestant Reformation. 

In his post, Frenchie lays out the whole Zionist HERESY. However, for a short course, and if you prefer to just chill and listen, there are these two scholarly podcasts during which you'll get the gist of all this.

But back to The Diana. 

The Diana claims:

"Both the Jews and the Christians are His chosen people. The Jews are known as Old Israel, and Christians are the New Israel."

Diana, at the outset of her post, claims to be speaking only for herself and not "the brothers" (aka the rest of the NCW).

However, Diana's declaration comports exactly with the views of NCW founders (Kiko Argüello and Carmen Hernández) who clearly championed the rights of the "Old Israel" which include the "Old Israel's" right to the land from which they were cast out 2000 years ago; and which, per European Powers who wanted to be rid of them (the Jews) anyway - created an artificial state (1948) in which to dump them. And Hell has reigned ever since.

Meanwhile, the real import of Diana's post is exactly the "theology of Kiko and Carmen" which is that Israel remains God's "Chosen People," and that Israel shall be granted the "political Messiah" Israel has long expected.

This belief is in direct contrast to the TRUE TEACHING OF CATHOLICISM that Jesus Christ is the MESSIAH prophesied throughout the Old Testament and that THE CHURCH is the "New Israel."

THERE IS NO OTHER MESSIAH!

The NCW rejection of this FACT, as again set forth by The Diana, is why Archbishop Athanasius Schneider has defined the NCW as a Protestant-Jewish Heresy.

KIKO ARGUELLO WANTED POPE BENEDICT DEAD

A decade after he resigned, it is still a mystery as to why Pope Benedict XVI became only the second pope in two thousand years to walk away from the papacy. Benedict himself blamed his health - even though he would live seemingly well for almost another decade. 

The real reason appears to be "the wolves" that Benedict himself told us about upon his election to the Chair of Peter:

"Pray for me, that I may not flee for fear of the wolves." 

Prior to his election, Benedict was so strong that he was nicknamed "God's Rottweiler." So those "wolves" must have been many and mean, for ultimately Benedict did flee the papacy. 

Apparently, as this video demonstrates, Kiko Arguello, one of the founders of the Neocatechumenal Way, was (and is) one of those wolves.

You presumably haven't read anything written in the article. Carmen Hernandez was not just a tough-talker who offended people; other Saints have been; Christ annoyed a lot of people. Hernandez taught un-Catholic nonsense, treated her supposed brothers and sisters in faith like trash and was hostile to aspects of Catholic devotion. Still hope she's canonised? If so I think you may be in the wrong Church.

DIANA TELLS FR. ROMY TO OBEY THE POPE

Every once in a while, someone sends me something related to Guam's Neocatechumenal Way that he/she/they want me to be aware of. Usually it's a link to a post on my old friend "Diana's" blog. I normally don't care to address it. 

Back when "the monk" was running this place (and running Apuron) it was necessary to engage the errors since no one else was. But the monk is gone and so is Apuron, so it's really the new guy's problem, not mine. 

And, as far as I know, the Neo's are conforming, or maybe just laying low in order not to raise any red flags while Rome searches for a new bishop for this place. 

The link someone sent me today had a comment from Diana which was refreshing to read given that Diana in effect said to "behave and mind your manners." 

Anonymous: Diana, the Way has its statutes and directory approved by Rome. With those approval from the Vatican, don't you think that would override the moratorium? Just asking. 

Diana: Dear Anonymous at 8:57 am,

The approved statutes and directory does not override the moratorium. According to Article 1 section 2 in the approved statues, “The Neocatechumenal Way is at the service of the Bishop as one forms of diocesan implementation of Christian initiation and of the ongoing education in faith.”

Furthermore, the letter of Pope Francis to the Neocatechumenal Way dated June 27, 2022 stated:

This missionary spirit, that is, of letting oneself be sent, is an inspiration for you all. I thank you for this, and I ask of you docility to the Spirit who sends you, docility and obedience to Jesus Christ in his Church. Everything in the Church, nothing outside the Church. This is the spirituality that must always accompany us: preaching Jesus Christ with the strength of the Spirit in the Church and with the Church. And the one who is the head, let’s say, of the various Churches is the bishop: always move forward with the bishop, always. He is the head of the Church, in this country, in this state…”

Therefore, the NCW should obey the moratorium issued by the Archbishop or to Father Romy who is the Apostolic Administrator. So, when the moratorium stipulates that the Holy Eucharist be held inside the Church before a consecrated altar, then the NCW should be obedient.

Diana's answer is solid. Thanks Diana. However, her answer reminds us that the Neo's do not normally celebrate "Holy Eucharist...inside the (c)hurch (on) a consecrated altar," and it takes a special instruction from the bishop to cause them to do so. As its founder Kiko Arguello has said: "any old table and any old place will do" (paraphrased). 

Meanwhile, it appears Diana still can't resist resorting to her old self. In her post above the comment, Diana implies that Fr. Romy is disobeying the Pope:

Easter was celebrated in the NCW in Guam differently as in previous years due to the fact that we obeyed Father Romy, the Apostolic Administrator. Father Romy made a few changes in our Easter Vigil so that it became a Sunrise Mass rather than a vigil...I am certain that in time we will celebrate the Easter Vigil again as we did before. Why? Because it is not only us who need to be obedient to the Bishop or Apostolic Administrator (as in this case). All Bishops must also be obedient to the Pope.

Diana goes on to copy a portion of an article from Crux and emphasizes the following:

An exception exists for “national churches,” like the U.S. Catholic community at St. Patrick Church in Rome, and for members of the Neocatechumenal Way, whose Vatican-approved statutes allow for small-group celebrations of the Easter vigil.

Sounds pretty authoritative, coming from Rome and all. However, the excerpt is from a document distributed by the "episcopal council of the Rome diocese" to the Rome diocese, which is why "the U.S. Catholic Community...in Rome" is mentioned. The full article in Crux clearly indicates that the matter concerns ONLY the Rome diocese, not the Archdiocese of Agana and NOT Fr. Romy.

Meanwhile, the episcopal council of Rome appears not to have read the NCW Statutes which say nothing about "small-group celebrations of the Easter vigil." 

Art. 12

[Paschal Vigil]

§ 1. Axis and source of Christian life is the paschal mystery, lived and celebrated in a pre- eminent way in the Sacred Triduum,42 whose brilliance fills the whole liturgical year with light.43 For this reason, it constitutes the fulcrum of the Neocatechumenate, since this is a rediscovery of Christian initiation.

§ 2. “The Paschal Vigil, focal point of the Christian liturgy, and its baptismal spirituality inspire all Catechesis.”44 It is for this reason that during the itinerary, the neocatechumens are initiated gradually45 into an ever more perfect participation in all that the holy night signifies, celebrates and realizes.

§ 3. In this way, the Neocatechumenate will stimulate the parish to have a richer celebration of the Paschal Vigil.46

The very next article in the Statutes addresses the small group celebrations which are permitted on other Sundays of the year. Sure, it doesn't specifically say "other Sundays of the year," but that's because the authors and approvers of the Statute assumed they didn't have to. It's clear that Art. 13 addresses "other Sundays of the year" given that Easter stands above and apart from the other Sundays.

[Eucharist]

§ 1. The Eucharist is essential to the Neocatechumenate, since this is a post-baptismal catechumenate lived in small communities.47 In fact, the Eucharist completes Christian initiation.48

§ 2. The neocatechumens celebrate the Sunday Eucharist in the small community after the first Vespers of Sunday. This celebration takes place according to the dispositions of the diocesan bishop. The celebrations of the Eucharist of the neocatechumenal communities on Saturday evening are part of the Sunday liturgical pastoral work of the parish and are open also to other faithful. 

As we have come to expect, unless the NCW Statutes specifically say "DON'T" or "NOT PERMITTED," then the Neocats (the leadership) interprets the Statutes to their liking. 

The Neocats, at least in Guam, don't do the Easter Vigil in small groups anyway. It's usually an islandwide bash with all the communities coming together. 

I don't have a problem with the Neocats doing whatever they want. In fact, I've experienced far worse "straying" from liturgical norms at "regular" parish Masses. However, I'll still set the record straight from time to time. Not that I'm an expert. I just read the Statutes, as written, and adhere to their plain meaning. You can do it too.

THE MORE IT CHANGES, THE MORE IT STAYS THE SAME

As it is often pointed out, humans have the inherent bad habit of not learning from their own mistake.

Both Tim Rohr and myself have warned our readers for the past several years, of the dangers there are, in underestimating the Neocatechumenal Way.

After a wait of several years, the Neos came back with a bang last night, with their biggest chingding, since they were slapped down by Archbishop Hon, and limited (in theory) by Archbishop Byrnes.

The nefarious and dangerous signore Gennarini, accompanied by the ever sickly Monsignor David Quitagua, Preston Perez, Jason, and Father Arriola all gathered at the Barrigada Church, the long time hideaway of the defrocked Fr Cristobal, and met with their adoring fans, as if this was the second coming of Christ himself.

The crowd was very large.

Deacon Martinez who is officially the Vicar for the Neos, had not been warned, and learned about it through other parishioners, displeased by the event. If Deacon Martinez was not aware, chances are that the Chancery was left in the dark as well.

What is the Vicar General going to do? He is now faced with an open coup in his own courtyard, while our Archbishop is off island on medical leave.

Leave it to crooked Gennarini to recognize a great opportunity to land back on Guam with absolutely no opposition, and demonstrating that the emperor has no clothes.

By trying to be inclusive with the Neos, and being a "good sport" Archbishop Byrnes gave an impression of weakness. Fr Concovar might be a nice priest, but in this case he is way out of his depth.

You better pray for Guam, the great deceiver is back.

APURON'S REAL GHOST WRITER AND THE NEW JERSEY MACHINE

In my initial response to Troy Torres’ editorial, “The archdiocese is a mess and needs a leader,” I noted that there were “some holes…and other missing links” in Troy’s history of what I’ll refer to as the "BJ Cruz matter" and mentioned that I might fill in the holes and missing links at some point. 

Troy responded that he was “very much looking forward to (my) next piece on this.” 

It’s actually a very small hole, but first I shall copy the following from Troy’s editorial:

“A mutual friend of Guam Public Auditor Benjamin F. Cruz, Jr. vouched for Mr. Cruz’s devotion to his Catholic faith during a tumultuous time for him. Apparently, when Mr. Cruz introduced a same-sex marriage statute and was attacked (quite ironically) by now-disgraced former Archbishop Anthony Apuron, the former legislative speaker continued going to Mass. Our friend despised how Apuron and others were treating Mr. Cruz. (Cruz)…tried convincing our friend to remain faithful despite the shortcomings of the church’s leaders. 'F***that,' this friend said of the Archdiocese of Agana. And just like that, the church lost yet another parishioner."

It appears that the "attack" referred to is an incident that occurred between certain members of the legislature, including Mr. Cruz, and select members of the clergy at a meeting at the Guam Hilton in October 2009. 

MEANWHILE...IN ROME

While the Vatican apparently wages war on the "rigid" faithful and "priests for life" - or at least one of them, the same Vatican is happily moving forward to canonize Carmen, the co-founder of what at least one bishop has called a "Jewish-Protestant heresy...with a Catholic decoration only."

Yes, it's "too bad they didn't leave Mount Carmel Church how it was for almost 70 years now." The question is: "Who is They?" And why is there a "newly raised altar area?" 

There is a newly raised altar area, an extension of the sanctuary actually, because the NCW "eucharists" require that the "brothers" sit around the "table." So apparently the NCW pastor, in order to accommodate NCW style "eucharists" extended the sanctuary, "the newly raised altar area" and then moved the main altar from the top of the three steps where it had been "for almost 70 years" down to the "newly raised altar area." 

And CRASH, BANG, BOOM!

Did Archbishop Byrnes authorize the extension of the sanctuary, i.e. "the newly raised altar area?" Did Archbishop Byrnes authorize the moving of the permanent altar? If so, then this is on Archbishop Byrnes. If not, then unfortunately this is still on Archbishop Byrnes. 

It's hard not to see the symbolism of this. And the message. 

PERHAPS JESUS SENT A MESSAGE

A new video of the damage at the Agat Church shows what really happened. The altar had been moved from the top of the three steps, where it been for decades, and was placed on the lower portion of the sanctuary. It's quite obvious from the size of the hole that the altar fell into that the lower portion was never properly constructed, but it was never intended to support the weight of what appears to be a fully concrete and/or stone altar, probably weighing a couple thousand pounds. 

If there was a proper engineering study performed prior to moving the altar then the company which conducted the study could be held accountable. But more than likely, given the entire rearrangement of the sanctuary under the present pastor, it was the pastor's decision to move the altar and that he did so without a proper engineering study nor permission from the Archbishop. 

If this is the case, then the pastor should be held personally accountable for the damage and required to pay for the repair. The people of Mt. Carmel Church and the Catholics of the Archdiocese of Agana in general have already suffered enough at the hands of negligent, careless, and sometimes willfully arrogant clergy. 

Note: Secular, i.e. Diocesan priests, which this pastor is, do not take a vow of poverty and are permitted to earn a salary and acquire material assets in their names. 

Further, it is quite clear that this pastor, a well-known "NCW priest," and in fact, the first priest ordained from the former Redemptoris Mater Seminary, had rearranged the sanctuary to accommodate NCW style services, i.e. placing the altar (they call it a table) and the lectern in the middle of their worship space. 

The video also shows that after removing the altar, which represents Christ, and placing "Christ" on the lower level, the pastor placed himself at the apex of the sanctuary where Christ once was. Perhaps, Jesus sent a message. 

THE SINS OF THE FATHERS

Today, the floor beneath the front portion of the sanctuary at Mt. Carmel Church in Agat appears to have collapsed. 

One cannot help seeing this and not connect the collapse of the floor with the terrible things that happened in this church when Apuron was pastor here in the 70's and from which we first began to hear about "the Agat boys."

While Carmen has left this earthly environment, creating a huge vacuum in the organization of the NCW, because she was the brain trust of the operation; the inside struggle for power continues with the Genarrini brothers jockeying for the control of the money machine, and its propaganda wing.

Carmen was not yet in the ground, that Kiko's backers were already clamoring for the Sainthood of the departed. This of course was received with great enthusiasm by the followers of the sect, while most real Catholics were shaking their head in disbelief. This is why it is essential that we understand how the Vatican proceeds, and how Kiko and his ilks are using corruption and influence peddling to influence and divert the process to their advantage.

This blog, thanks to its countless readers and participants has been able to unveil some of that process over the years. Recently we were contacted by a concerned Denver Catholic, whose parish is being slowly taken over by the NCW. This concerned Denver Catholic ended up reading many posts from this blog, as well as the "Thoughtful Catholic" blog, in order to comprehend what he was facing.

He was particularly interested in a post I made on the feast of St Michael the Archangel (September 29, 2016) almost 5 years ago. This post was titled : "it really makes a lot of sense, when you put all the pieces of the puzzle together". It can be found

What is so interesting in that inquiry by a Concerned Catholic  from Denver, (which is one of the original point of development of the NCW in the USA)....is the fact that good honest Catholics have no clue about what is going on in their own Diocese of Denver, after so many years of presence and work by the Neos, and how deeply rooted the NCW is in Colorado. It demonstrates the great duplicity and excellent talent of the NCW leadership to hide in plain sight, until it is too late when the laity finally realizes what is going on, in their own parishes. The cancer has already spread all over.

Perhaps many Catholics in Denver are still unaware of Kiko's church within the Church. We on Guam cannot pretend we do not know, yet despite their coverup for Apuron, their using of the Chancery as a political tool, their diversion of funds at several levels, the Neos on Guam have not been held to account. Despite a public stance, demanding obedience and abiding to canon law, Archbishop Byrnes has done almost nothing to bring the Neos to the fold. No longer able to meet at the fake seminary in Yona, they opened a new center in Asan in October of 2019. Many Neos when thinking they are in a friendly environment refer to this new "meeting" place as "our Church".

All this has been reported, yet Archbishop Byrnes has done nothing. Again, he has been empowered by Cardinal Filoni, with instructions, unknown to us officially. If we believe the neo's saying: " you can judge the tree, by the fruits it produces". If that is the case, it looks like Archbishop Byrnes real mission was to buy time and provide cover for the NCW on Guam. If you have any doubt, please look at the fruits..... Still prolytising, still recruiting, still undermining, still celebrating their heretical services, still advancing an agenda of conquest and submission of the Church to their sect.

 

It is certainly not the priests that Archbishop Byrnes is surrounding himself with, that are going to make a difference. Fr Ronald is too busy gathering power, and preparing the next victim to be thrown under the Bus (any bets?), and he is fairly close to several Neo presbyters. While the vicar of the Clergy Fr Mike has been so compromised by Fr Harold, that he has become their latest little puppet.

While the NCW was abetting Apuron on Guam, they also use their strong relationship with Cardinal Mc Carrick to open two seminaries, and expend their footprint in the USA. They also used his influence to open missions in several locations, and allow many of the NCW presbyters to be Pastors of parishes who were left at the mercy of the Genarrini mafia. Of course they made sure to cover up his proclivities, when they did not facilitate his sins, as they did with  Apuron. The best proof, being that they even built a nice suite in one of their seminary for him to retire. Knowing full well of his strong attraction to young seminarians.

Now that the Michigan administration is back on island, let see if they will address the continued disrespect the NCW has for them, or NOT?

Lets watch also if the failed priests like Fr Mike, will be called to order, or if Archbishop Byrnes will overlook these grave issues in order to advance his new upcoming agenda? 

MORE DUPLICITY FROM DR. RICARDO EUSEBIO

In the years leading to the departure of the failed and discredited Apuron, several members of the Neocatecumenal Way

 took the lead, in defending their protector, even though they knew of his sins and failures.

Of course no one can forget the infamous Diana and her blog, but also the strange professor, Magoo like Zoltan, the unsufferable Jackie Terlaje (the local attorney who is still representing Apuron, in his defense of civil suits), but no one came close to the arrogant, dishonest and zealous "Crazy Ricky", who during his leasure time poses as a respectable surgeon of the local medical community.

As I mentioned in my previous column, Ricky graced us with a letter to the Editor of the Guam Daily Post on Thursday June the 24th of this year, titled "Another option for the Manamko"

In his expose, Crazy Ricky first establish his argument that the island has a specific problem.

"For some who have fallen ill requiring hospitalization and prolonged postoperative care. This traumatic event creates a significant change in the direction of their lives, becoming more dependent on others. It may be temporary, but for many, depression with subsequent cognitive changes, leads to their decline and hastens their demise. Family support is critical to avoid the dire consequences of this dramatic event." 

Here Rick tells us something we already all knew, which is the consequence on aging for the individuals and their respective families. Most boomers are very familiar with this issue, and have faced this problem in their families or among their friends..... the "good" doctor to continues:

"Without family support, however, there are not too many alternatives in Guam. St Dominic's Senior Care Home in Barrigada is about the only option available, to my knowledge. Security deposits, insurance, the level of care mandated, availability and uncovered expenses are still required. Those unable to find placement or afford specialized care, can languish in the hospital for days and months incurring more hospital charges." 

As you can see the good doctor appears to be " very worried" about this whole situation, or is he? To me it looks like a solution looking for a problem. A solution the "good doctor"  most likely will share with us, out of his Christian moral duty. So here you go, better put your seat belt on.

"Thus I am elated to hear that the "Congregation of the Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly" desires to establish a mission here on Guam.

Their Mission is to care for the poor disabled elderly in all their needs, both spiritually and physically. They establish houses to cover the daily basic needs of the elderly, living by donations and welcoming anyone regardless of their financial situation".

As I guessed, the good doctor had a reasonable solution to this extremely grave issue.

Why would the great Ricardo Eusebio encourage the establishment of a new congregation of sisters on Guam, while he spends every ounce of his energy fighting for the supremacy of the NCW?

Who are these Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly? That is a very good question, and as you shall see, there is not a clear answer. 

 The congregation of the Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly was created in Spain in 1872 in the City of Barbastro by St Teresa of Jesus Jornet. The Generalate of the Congregation is located in Valencia Spain. There are around 2400 sisters around the world in 210 communities, located in 20 countries.

Their Motto is : Cuidar los Cuerpos para salvar las Almas.

meaning : taking care of the bodies to save the souls.

The Generalate of the order is where St Teresa of Jesus Jornet created her first community, Valencia.The first development overseas was in Cuba in 1885, with the sending of their 10 newest recruits.

As you see nothing out of the ordinary for a Catholic order, except for its relatively small number of Sisters and geographic impact.

That is until you start looking beyond the varnish.

Back in the 1980s and 1990s the congregation,like other religious organizations around the world was facing steep challenges, namely the aging of its members and the lack of vocation to replace the aging sisters, which led to mounting financial challenges.  Enter the smartest and most ruthless founder of the NCW, Carmen Hernandez. As we have seen in other exposes, Carmen hails from one of the most prominent commercial family in Spain. That same family has many interests in the city of Valencia where the little sisters have their generalate.

Carmen always a shrewd negotiator and a consummate politician, saw a golden opportunity in this situation, at a time when the NCW was planning to open their first Seminary. The plan was basically the same as for the seminaries. Develop a system where, you bring plenty of new recruits, and generate fundraising campaigns to support these non profit organizations, with the intent of capitalizing on the goodwill generated, show a recruiting success and generate opportunities for a free flow of cash, under the cover of charitable work

Thus Carmen was able to co-opt an hailing organization, give it a new life, and get a perfect cover for their work of evangelization. The only true giveaway being that almost all the installations of the sisters are located in Dioceses that are either run by the NCW,or NCW friendly Bishops

Now it makes more sense when Eusebio in his letter to the editor, declares:

Let us welcome these nuns from the congregation of the Little sisters of the Abandoned Elderly. They do not seek financial support from the Archdiocese but a mere welcome and acknowledgement of the requisite need to care for our elderly. We have everything to gain for our Manamko. Encourage your pastors, friends and government leaders to have the archdiocese roll out the welcome mat!

Unfortunately the Neos have already played that movie several times. When they first arrived on the island, when they opened their fake seminary in Yona, when they used Apuron and the Archdiocese (plus some other well known businesses around town) as a money laundering scheme. For my part I shall pass on that fake opportunity, and I will encourage all Catholics on Guam, not to fall for that bait and switch. Let your friends and favorite politician know what is at stake here, which is nothing less than a full fledge come back of the Neos and their corrupting ways. Hopefully the Chancery is not asleep at the wheel, like it has been for the last 18months.

DON'T BLAME HIM!

Hey, don't blame him. 

He is the product of Kiko's theology (see "Kiko and Purgatory") and Apuron's (fake) seminary. According to Kiko, there is no Purgatory. And the only reason for All Souls Day (today in Guam) is to pray for the Poor Souls in Purgatory.

So this priest makes the best of it... (sort of). 

However, let 's not get too excited about blaming Kiko or this priest or even the NCW. Almost all funeral sermons and nearly every funeral announcement in our local media - placed there by well-meaning families - misled by mostly cowardly teaching from cowardly clerics, canonizes their dearly departed loved ones as "already in heaven," or even an "ANGEL!" When in fact, they are probably suffering in Purgatory like most of us will.

Heaven, Probably Not Your Next Stop!

Personal note: Sadly. I like this priest. He normally celebrates the Mass in a reverential way which I seldom see anywhere else. Maybe the new archbishop will help. Meanwhile, the rest of us can stop "angel-icizing" and canonizing our departed relatives. They most likely need our prayers, not our platitudes.

MY COMMENT

The entire controversy would go away if the NCW Catechist(s) for Guam would simply submit the NCW Catechetical Directory to Archbishop Byrnes for his review and approval. As the Ordinary of this Archdiocese, his is canonically the sole authority to approve or disapprove of its doctrine and practice, as was Apuron before him (though Apuron never bothered to ask for it). 

The fact that after more than two years of asking for the Directory, the local NCW "authorities" continue to deny Archbishop Byrnes this simple request, is WHY the controversy continues. 

The entire Catholic Church has made its "directory" (i.e. the Catechism of the Catholic Church) universally available in every possible format, but the local NCW "authorities" continue to deny this very kind Archbishop even a glimpse of what the NCW "catechists" officially teach. In fact, they abuse him, telling him if he wants a copy, he has to ask Rome. (Note to NCW "authorities": HE IS ROME.)

That the NCW continues to exist at all in thIS Archdiocese is a testament to the great kindness and mercy of OUR NEW ARCHBISHOP. 

I put that in CAPS because now, with the final demise of Apuron and the elevation of Archbishop Byrnes to the "cathedra" (i.e. "the chair") by Pope Francis, Archbishop Byrnes is now OUR BISHOP. 

And I put "OUR BISHOP" in CAPS because the main argument by the NCW "authorities" has always been "Byrnes is NOT our bishop. Apuron is our bishop." But now, with Byrnes reception of the Pallium, to continue to hold this position is to place oneself OUTSIDE the Catholic Church (i.e. Latae sententiae - automatically excommunicated).

Now that Archbishop Byrnes is certainly, canonically, and officially OUR ARCHBISHOP, will the NCW "authorities" humbly present the NCW Catechetical Directory to a true descendant of the Apostles or will they continue to follow Martin Luther out of the one true Church?

The Pope will hand over the Pallium to 31 Metropolitan Archbishops, 13 of whom are Ordinaries from territories entrusted to the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, from Africa (8), Asia (4) and Oceania (1). Their names, in order of appointment...Mgr. Michael Jude BYRNES, Archbishop of Agaña (Guam)...

Note: I refer to NCW "authorities" because these are the true "responsibles." Most "members" of the NCW are truly good people who have found solace in what, sadly, their "traditional" pastors and priests never offered them, because, as we are now seeing, they were too busy pursuing pervetred sexual pleasures. Still, despite the gross sinfulness of these "Judases", WE HAVE JESUS AND HIS CHURCH. And because "the gates of Hell will NOT prevail," we have NO excuse NOT to follow HIM. 

WHY IS THE ISSUANCE OF THE PALLIUM TO ARCHBISHOP BYRNES IS SUCH A BIG DEAL

The Umatuna Newspaper has covered extensively for several weeks the Pallium attribution by Pope Francis to the 31 new Metropolitan Archbishops.

Archbishop Byrnes, as Archbishop of Agana, is the Metropolitan Archbishop of the archdiocese of Agana, and Archbishop to the suffragans of the diocese of Chalan Kanoa, the diocese of the Caroline Islands and of the Apostolic Prefecture of the Marshall Islands.

The official celebration took place this past Saturday, which marks the feast day of both 

St Peter (the patron Saint of Rome) and St Paul. (known as the two pillars of the Church)

It is therefore becoming that this highly symbolical handing down of the Papal authority should take place on that most special feast day.
