That's the trouble. They were never expelled. Byrnes refused to do it.

 An as a reminder, here's why:

But to address "damages" specifically, and relatively speaking, the Neocats have done no damage at all compared to the damage we permitted to go on under our noses for decades while we busily planned fiestas. 

The Neocats, and more specifically The Gennarini's (aka The Kikos) have simply re-landed in Guam to lap up the carrion. 

The Church in Guam is still salvageable. 

But given who the majority of Guam Catholics elected governor - twice - it appears that God has abandoned us to the Babylonians.

Yes, it's "too bad they didn't leave Mount Carmel Church how it was for almost 70 years now." The question is: "Who is They?" And why is there a "newly raised altar area?" 

There is a newly raised altar area, an extension of the sanctuary actually, because the NCW "eucharists" require that the "brothers" sit around the "table." So apparently the NCW pastor, in order to accommodate NCW style "eucharists" extended the sanctuary, "the newly raised altar area" and then moved the main altar from the top of the three steps where it had been "for almost 70 years" down to the "newly raised altar area." 

And CRASH, BANG, BOOM!

Did Archbishop Byrnes authorize the extension of the sanctuary, i.e. "the newly raised altar area?" Did Archbishop Byrnes authorize the moving of the permanent altar? If so, then this is on Archbishop Byrnes. If not, then unfortunately this is still on Archbishop Byrnes. 

It's hard not to see the symbolism of this. And the message.

 GOOD BYE 2021, HELLO 2022

The usual celebrations about a coming new year, were for the most part, dull compared to what most of us are used to. As we are now entering a third year of hysterical reactions to what many now consider as an unrelenting campaign of fear, intimidation, half truths, and sometimes blatant lies; observers can only be dismayed by what has unfolded in the past two years.

Under the pretense of protection of the general population, most of the rights we held dear, have been pushed in a corner, dismissed, even completely ignored.

Chief among these rights, the first amendment of the United States Constitution, which reads as follow:

Freedom of Religion, speech and the press,

Rights of Assembly and Petition

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

One would hope that anyone with the reading comprehension of an eighth grader would be able to put their mind around this simple, but essential concept. 

Unfortunately,  we have seen legions of politicians, (elected or not) and a myriad of obscure, often anonymous "civil servants" trample with great enthusiasm these founding principles of our Nation.

 

What is more troubling for us Catholics is the tepid reactions of our religious leaders to these gross infringements to our religious rights. Worse, some of our most senior and learned leaders have embraced without any questioning the egregious abuses of our religious freedoms, going as far as to condone the inexcusable .

Under the leadership of the newest President of the United States, who like the speaker of the House claims to be a person of faith, and a respectable Catholic, we have seen a complete disregard for the values of life, a quasi endorsement of eugenic policies, and an incessant flow of lies, and misrepresentations.

Confronted by this, and the growing concert of questions coming from the Catholic faithful, the Catholic Conference of Bishops, refused the debate at first, then tried to ignore it, before conveniently kicking offside (to use a sport allegory)

This lack of courage, and integrity by our bishops, was even made worse by the violent, disgraceful and hypocritical  attacks on Catholic Tradition by the "modernist"wing  who embraced without debate the latest Vatican inanity, coming to us under the guise of a motus proprio titled :

"Traditionis Custodes"

A misnomer meaning "Guardians of Tradition"

 

A document that is so replete in major canonical errors, that one could attribute it to a bad essay by a seminary sophomore.

I shall not bore you today with the intricate details of this destructive document, but we will go back to it at a later date.

What can be noted is the disturbing resemblance of this document, to the many media pieces of the so called legacy media (another misnomer) which have bombarded us over the last three years with what Marxist operators call the reversed accusatory. (An efficient, often used tactic, which consist of accusing your target of the sins you are yourself guilty of)

I shall grant you that at least (for the time being) the US Catholic Church has not yet fallen to the dismal level of the once great Canadian Catholic Church. Nothing guarantees us that our leaders' lack of backbone will not lead us to a total capitulation where God is no longer at the center of our lives, at the center of the Church.

Already we see disturbing but telling signs of things to come, with Bishops acting like HR directors, or CPAs, even hiding behind a dreaded legal jargon, but occulting God from the life of their dioceses.

 

What is at the center of all these evils, is this omission of God at the core of everything we do.

The message Christ left us (through his apostles) is that God is truth and love.

Ergo, everything that is not of truth and of love is against God, against his people, against his Church.

Let this sink in for a while, and reflect on the web of deception that has surrounded us for the last two years, which threaten to continue to surround us for a long time, unless we declare Enough! and resolve ourselves to take the Challenge to put God back at the center of our lives.

 

We need to demand accountability from our Bishop, and the people he put in places of power.

We need to demand accountability from our politicians, for what they have done, and what they have failed to do.

We need to demand accountability from our priests, who except for a few courageous and often ostracized individuals have failed their flock

We need to demand accountability from the Media, who instead of their self professed tenets, have been the MAJOR CONTRIBUTORS, to the lies, half truths, and omissions enveloping us daily.

We need to demand accountability from ourselves for our weaknesses, and lack of courage.

Lets pray that God grants us these demands, so we can once more put him at the center of our lives.

COVID-19 VACCINES AND THE RELATIVE "REMOTE-NESS" OF MURDERED JEWS

THE MOST SECRET OF ALL SCANDALS IN THE CHURCH

Archbishop Byrnes is correct. Both abortion and the sexual abuse of minors are rooted in the "hardening of hearts." For what is abortion other than the ultimate abuse of a minor? 

And while we can be thankful that we have a Shepherd who is willing to not just condemn the evil of abortion, but willing to trace it to the root and tie it to what Pope Benedict labeled the "filth in the church," there will be no real conversion of hearts until the contraceptive mentality is just as bravely confronted. 

For abortion is just last-resort birth control. 

That's not my opinion. The Guttmacher Institute, the research arm of Planned Parenthood, the nation's number one abortion provider, noted in 2014 that "about half (51%) of abortion patients in the United States reported that they had used a contraceptive method in the month they became pregnant..." due to "method failure."

The Guttmacher study goes on to note: "The methods most commonly used by abortion patients in 2014 were condoms (24% of patients) and the pill (13%)."

This is not a surprise, the FDA states: "Out of 100 women whose partners’ use (condoms), 18 may get pregnant."

And what do contracepting couples do when they get pregnant and don't want to be pregnant? 

Condom failure is also probably at the root of Guam's Chlamydia epidemic:

And while the current government's answer is more of the same: “We want to focus on educating the community on getting birth control, condoms and having responsible sexual activities,” Flores said, our Shepherds, if they are serious about the real "reason to fear," the loss of one's soul - especially their own, must squarely face the most secret of all scandals in the Church:

"...every action which, whether in anticipation of the conjugal act, or in its accomplishment, or in the development of its natural consequences, proposes, whether as an end or as a means, to render procreation impossible" is intrinsically evil." - Catechism of the Catholic Church, par. 2370

THE CHANCERY DECIDES TO CREATE FOUR VICARIATES. IS THIS WISE?

Basically the Archbishop, under the recommendations of the Vicar General and the Vicar for Clergy (translate Fr Jeff and Fr Mike) decided to chop the Archdiocese in four regions.

North, South, East and West.

What we end up with is another layer of administration, instead of a lighter and more efficient Church.

I have often argued that Archbishop Byrnes has since the first day he arrived on island been under siege from all corners, and that we should not expect too much all at once.

Indeed after addressing the issue of the make believe seminary, the Archbishop has had to deal almost exclusively with the never ending cascade of lawsuits,  and the putting out of financial fires in many parishes. This is the legacy of 30 years of mismanagement and nepotism at the chancery and in the Archdiocese in general. 

It goes without saying that all these issues would overwhelm any good administrator, even without having to deal with the continuing issue of the nefarious presence of the NCW, and their continued work to undermine everything that is possible. (we shall come back on that subject, later)

All this having been said, the Faithful are starting to ask themselves many questions.

While many have been very pleased with the engaging style of Archbishop Byrnes, specially after having had to deal with the holier than thou approach of Apuron. 

People were expecting the Archbishop to take decisions frankly and decisively, when it comes to issues of administration and priest behavior.

So far it has not been the case. The fact that he has been very busy has been compounded by the Archbishop's desire to govern by consensus and with the participation of the priests of the diocese. He also has delegated a lot of his tasks to the team surrounding him.

This approach has had mitigated results, mostly because the people that should help the Archbishop making the right decisions have for many reasons (too many to be discussed here) been giving him bad advises, or have because of their shortcomings not been capable to bring the help necessary.

Some might argue that Archbishop Byrnes has taken the lead, in arguing against gambling, and against the legalization of Marijuana.

While it is true that on these occasions the Archbishop has been leading the way, Guamanians still have a bitter taste, regarding the mixed signals the chancery sent during the latest election campaign, and the lack of explanation of the reasons, the Chancery and the Capuchins remain so indebted to the BOG. 

Perhaps after the smoke of chapter 11 clears, a better picture of the reality of that relationship will emerge. 

Personally, I am not very positive on that subject, following the well executed co-opting of the Leon Guerrero campaign by the NCW, as well as the messy transition of power since their take over of Adelup, it appears that instead of having a simplified situation, the Chancery might end up with a Gordian knot worse than we have now.

This case of the Vicariates is a perfect illustration of the challenges we, and the Archbishop are facing.

With the installation of four Vicariates, the Chancery has also had to nominate four new Vicars.

One would expect that after what this Archdiocese experienced over that last 30 years, that our leadership would chose men of integrity and consensus.

 Let us look then, who the new four Vicars shall be.

1. For the Northern Vicariate:  Fr. Dan Bien
2. For the Western Vicariate: Fr. Romeo Convocar 
3. For the Eastern Vicariate: Fr. Manuel Tranchera
4.  For the Southern Vicariate: Fr Joseph Anora.

 Both Father Convocar, and Father Anora are well liked priests, with opposite personalities, yet they are engaging and easy to approah. Unless I am mistaken none of them is incardinated in the Diocese of Agana, and this could become a serious issue at a later stage.







On the other hand Fr Bien (aka the traveling priest) and Fr Tranchera are controversial priests who are better known for their negativity and propensity to divide rather than create a consensus.

In fact, Fr Bien has many skeletons in his closet (I shall revisit this separately)

Therefore, one could ask why both Fr Jeff and Fr Mike advised for these two priests to be given that very difficult responsibility of a Vicariate, while there are strong reasons to question their respective  administration, in their own parishes.

 

We shall revisit the issue of Fr Bien in a separate article.

 

The Chancery would be well advised to get their ducks in a row, and come clean regarding this administrative move, and the reasons behind their choice of leaders for said Vicariates.

After all the ultimate task of the priests of this Diocese is the salvation of the souls of their parishioners, that should trunk out all other administrative consideration.

For a leader to have the trust of his wards, it is essential that said leader be beyond reproach.

(Cameron Doody) .- A hard blow to the Kikos of Guam. Archbishop of Agana, Michael J. Byrnes, has announced a "pause" for the recruitment of new members of the Neocatechumenal Way on the island for a year, along with the appointment of an Episcopal delegate to review his Catechetical Directory, The "anguish" felt in the local Church by some of the movement's distinctive practices.

Since being appointed to Guam last October, Byrnes has worked to dismantle the influence of the Camino on the island, which had reached exaggerated proportions thanks to the patronage of Archbishop Anthony Apuron, the former leader of the Guamian Church currently suspended between Accusations that he sexually abused altar boys in the 1970s. Such work has, for example, taken control of one of the seminars in the United States, property with a multi-million dollar value that Apuron would have transferred to Camino leaders based in the state of New Jersey.

The eighteen page document is called the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. This past weekend, a very public "call to Joy" at the Cathedral Basilica has been a very rude awakening for many, to the fact that despite the spiriting away of Apuron and some highly publicized cosmetic changes, which includes the appointment of a Co-Adjutor in the person of Archbishop Byrnes, very little has changed in the day to day reality of our Archdiocese.

This is the 800 Lb Gorilla in the room, that almost everyone has failed to recognize since this past November.

Coadjutor Archbishop Byrnes' statement as reported in the Feb. 2 PDN:

"Byrnes, for a few moments on Sunday, joined dozens of Catholics led by the Laity Forward Movement and Concerned Catholics of Guam in a peaceful protest.

Byrnes said it’s safe to say he respects and supports the peaceful picketers’ desire for justice, and “a clear answer.”

The picketers have been calling for Apuron’s removal as archbishop of Guam and for Apuron to be defrocked because of his alleged sex abuses and his alleged leadership failures."

On another blog two bloggers, Anonymous and Diana, jousted over the activities of Archbishop Byrnes on Sunday. The contest is set out below with my emphases:

Archbishop Byrnes did not join the protest. That is a false rumor being spread in the jungle....just like the false rumor that there is no canonical trial. Tim created the rumor that is no canonical trial. He is wrong. It is the jungle who spread false rumors and you fell for it.
