The following was written in response to the Pacific Daily News' invitation for a submission for today's Sunday Forum topic: "How can Guam better ensure equality to people regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity?"

For the purpose of the following, a “male” is defined as a human being with an X and a Y sex chromosome and who “gender identifies” as a biological male.
The U.S. suicide rate, categorized by sex, is scandalously disproportionate. Among males, the rate is four times higher than females, according to the National Institute of Mental Health in 2014. On Guam, the rate is six times higher, with males making up 87 percent of suicide victims, according to “A profile of suicide on Guam” in 2011. CONTINUED
There are several native Guamanians at our church. Well educated, cordial people who've lived on the US Mainland since childhood. One man said his father, now age 71, was a schoolmate of Apuron for years and his family despises the pervert. He won't say why, but I can guess.
ReplyDeleteThese parishioners briefly return to Guam only for funerals in their immediate family. They hate the place. Based on stats given here and what travel agents say, that's understandable.
The more militarized Guam becomes, the worse it will get. The days of wonderful US military districts are long gone. The big one I lived in for 10 years is one of many that are sadly unrecognizable now.
Not sure how you draw a connection to the military. Apuron and the other criminals clergy did this quite on their own. And what? The states is so much better?
DeleteArchbishop Byrnes. . . was Msgr. David C. Quitugua "elected" or did you appoint him to sit on the Council and College of Counselors? This guy should be not be put in a position of importance. He should in fact be reported to the police for conspiring to mislead the public by falsifying government documents. He and Adrian--who together with Apuron--ran the Chancery into the ground! It's scandalous to have him in a position of authority, even if only in an advisory capacity. He must be sent off to be with Adrian in Canada.
ReplyDeleteOf all the priests on Guam, Byrnes singled out bad-to-the-bone Adrian for preferential treatment as soon as he arrived. The fact that he knew nothing about him leads me to believe that Filoni is pulling the bishop's strings. That seems even more likely seeing how filthy Lurch was appointed to prominent archdiocese councils.
ReplyDeleteAgree with Anon 5:57 AM. Wish it weren't true.
