Bishop Apuron had appealed the initial finding in 2018 but the Vatican announced on April 4 of 2019 that the Tribunal had “upheld the sentence of First Instance finding the Archbishop guilty of delicts against the Sixth Commandment with minors.”With the removal of office, the Archdiocese has still remitted a monthly honorarium of $1,500 to former Archbishop Apuron, even during this time of bankruptcy.“The monthly honorarium has been, to say the least, very difficult for the victim survivors of sexual abuse to comprehend,” Father Ron Richards, Episcopal Vicar of the Archdiocese of Agaña said in a letter to Bishop Apuron last week. “The victim survivors see this honorarium, to a credibly accused violator of delicts against the Sixth Commandment, as contrary to justice and a continuation of the abuse they suffered at the hands of the clergy.”“Archbishop Byrnes has heard from more of the victim survivors,” said Father Ron. “Recognizing the pain these survivors have experienced from the sexual abuse in the past, he sees the continuation of remitting this honorarium as a further deepening of the wounds they are trying to heal from.”Archbishop Byrnes remains on extended leave off-island after undergoing hip surgery earlier this month.Sent by Tony C. Behind
the Masks: Marxism and Black Lives Matter
By
Jeff Minick

“Black Lives Matter.”
It sounds good, yes? Even noble.
As Tucker Carlson reported, a
recent poll found Black Lives Matter (BLM) is popular with many Americans and
is viewed more favorably than Donald Trump, Joe Biden, Congress, or either
major political party. Carlson goes on to point out that BLM is deceptive,
concealing its real agenda and using intimidation, rioting, and force to achieve
its goals. Disagree with BLM, or even innocently remark that “All lives
matter,” and you can be accused of racism, fired from your job, and even have
your family threatened.
On Saturday June 20, Black Lives Matter
marched in Front Royal, Virginia, where I live, ending at the town’s landmark
gazebo in the center of town. I’d estimate about 10 percent of the crowd, which
numbered a few hundred people, was black. The majority of the participants
appeared under 30. In what was more a street party than a protest, some people
wore masks, some didn’t, and no one practiced social distancing.
As I watched them, I wondered: Do these
people really understand the group they are supporting? Have they or the tens
of thousands of others who have marched in similar protests across the country
ever read the mission statement of BLM? It’s readily available at their website.
Let’s take a look.
BLM’s “What We Believe” begins with
declarations most of us would agree with. The writers claim that they want to
create “alongside comrades, allies, and family a culture where each person
feels seen, heard, and supported.” They go on to say “We acknowledge, respect,
and celebrate differences and commonalities.”
Like their name, those aspirations
sound worthy, but in reality BLM takes down anyone who disagrees with them.
It’s easy to do: they simply smear that person as a racist, and everyone then
understands everything.
BLM claims to want to “build and
nurture a beloved community that is bonded together through a beautiful
struggle that is restorative, not depleting.”
That sounds sweet as maple syrup, but
this is the same group, as Carlson points out, that called for the death of
police officers and is now leading the charge to defund police departments.
Some of our city officials, again frightened of being labeled racists, are
doing just that.
BLM claims to make their organization
family friendly, but in the very next paragraph states, “We disrupt the
Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each
other as extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one
another….”
How many supporters of BLM realize that
this organization wants to “disrupt” the nuclear family? Does that young
newlywed I saw at the protest know that BLM disdains her marriage?
BLM spends a fair amount of words in
this manifesto touting its support for transgendered men and women. Near the
end, the writers also declare: “We foster a queer-affirming network. When we
gather, we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from heteronormative
thinking, or rather, the belief that all in the world are heterosexual (unless
s/he or they disclose otherwise).”
This point, especially the part in
brackets, is confusing, but we can gather that, like their attack on the
nuclear family, the BLM writers are no fans of heterosexuals, especially men.
Former Deputy Assistant Director of the
FBI’s Counterterrorism Division Terry Turchie explained the Marxist background
of BLM in a recent interview. He
begins by looking at groups from the 1970s – the Black Panthers, the Weather
Underground – that were Marxist to their cores, and then goes on to tell
viewers why BLM is so much more dangerous than these predecessors. The last
fifty years, Turchie tells us, have brought into the mainstream ideas that once
seemed radical or foreign to the American people. As Turchie points out, the
Democratic Party in particular embraces concepts such as ending capitalism,
putting limits on speech and religious practices, and fundamentally
transforming American laws, government, and society.
One of the founders of BLM
reinforced Turchie’s interpretation of the group’s motives by proudly
proclaiming, “We are trained Marxists.”
BLM’s declaration ends with this
statement: “We embody and practice justice, liberation, and peace in our
engagements with one another.”
Again, there’s confusion here. How do
we interpret “with one another?” It sounds as if they embody and practice those
values only with one another. Disagree with them – and those values – and you
get kicked out the door.
Like the Democratic People’s Republic
of Korea, also known as North Korea, Black Lives Matter is a fine name. And
like the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, that name is a mask hiding
reality. The reality is that BLM is after power rather than justice,
suppression rather than liberation, and class and racial warfare rather than
peace. If you doubt this contention, all you have to do is tune into the news
and watch them.
Actions speak louder than words.

NEO-MARXISM AND USEFUL IDIOTS AS MADE KNOWN TO US BY PATRISSE CULLORS AND TIMOTHY GUILE

This piece is very theoretical, yet makes an interesting empirical claim: 'The grand unifying principle for the Marxists behind the Black Lives Matter movement is that everything—and they mean everything—can be reduced to “oppressors” versus the “oppressed.”' The author offers no evidence that Marxists are behind the Black Lives Matter movement. Furthermore, I was recently at the BLM demonstration on Guam. I heard no mention made of Marx, Marxism, or Marxists. Instead, one could see a billboard with Martin Luther King, Jr.'s image on it. One could also hear the name of Anglican Archbishop Desmond Tutu mentioned in conversation. Both of these men were (or are) Christians and men of the cloth. Although they were not present physically, they were present spiritually. At least some of those demonstrators understood themselves to be both Christian and supportive of BLM...without contradiction.
If BLM brings about a more judicious use of police force, a national conversation about race relations in American society, an awakening to the many inequalities in America, an historical appreciation of how America became America, and policies to make good the civil rights of her citizens, then I will gladly accept the tag to my name: Timothy Guile, useful idiot.
Black Lives Matter Co-Founder Patrisse Cullors Confirms They
Are ‘Trained Organizers and Marxists’ (VIDEO)

We already knew Black Lives Matter are
radical neo-Marxists and the co-founder confirmed it during an interview this
week.
Patrisse Cullors, the co-founder of
Black Lives Matter proudly admitted she’s a radical, anti-white Marxist.
“We actually do have an ideological
frame,” Cullors said. “Myself and Alicia are particularly trained organizers —
we are trained Marxists. We are super versed on ideological theories…”
Black Lives Matter is seeking to
transform America by defunding the police, dismantling capitalism, ‘destroying
the patriarchy,’ breaking down the nuclear family unit, emptying prisons,
redistributing wealth in the form of reparations among other far left
objectives.
Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters
have destroyed small businesses, targeted churches and razed buildings to the
ground.
Their goal is to bring chaos where
there is order, fan the flames of class warfare and demonize Christians and
conservatives.
The media praises Black Lives Matter
and anyone who doesn’t bow down to them gets canceled.

CHRISTIAN OR MARXIST? YOU CAN'T BE BOTH
"It’s unclear how many Christians are going along with the current neo-Marxist collective guilt movement out of fear, a misunderstanding of what they’ve signed onto, or an authentic conversion to the cause. What is clear, however, is that you can’t be a Christian and a Marxist at the same time—not without irresolvable contradictions."

CATHOLIC ADULT STUDY GROUP - NO NEED TO BE CATHOLIC TO JOIN
This is something some of us have been doing since about 2005: meeting once a week for about an hour and engaging in a variety of studies from Apologetics to a read through of the Bible.
It's called a Catholic Adult Study Group because, in our opinion, while church leadership spends untold resources on our kids, their parents, Catholic adults, are mostly neglected...despite the fact that the constant mantra from the top is "faith begins at home." And then we wonder why the kids leave. SMH
Initially, we spent several years on apologetics, i.e. learning how to share the faith with others, both Catholic and non-Catholic.
Then we did a complete read through and study of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Currently we are doing a chronological read through of the Bible. This has proven to be especially challenging because not only are there many different versions of the Bible - even approved Catholic versions, some of those versions differ so radically that if you don't have the same version it's hard to know what the others are reading. However, we persist, and even the radically different versions of the same scripture give us cause for study.
After the Covid thing and we were no longer able to meet physically, some of us began meeting virtually. The virtual meeting had an added benefit. Per the "share screen" function, we could all read from the same version and we could collectively use helpful online commentaries.
While we have never put this out to the general public before, we are now. Feel free to join us per the following information. While we are using the Douay-Rheims version of the Bible (Challoner edition), you are welcome to follow along in whatever version you prefer to use and share how your version translates/interprets the same verse(s).
Oh, and no need to be Catholic to join.
Tonight (Monday, 6pm, Guam Time) we will be doing this:

DO THIS! BUT ONLY IF YOU'RE CATHOLIC
"We, as individuals in the community, should also carefully consider whether we should celebrate Mass inside the building or via livestream, which has become a common channel of communication for many local churches. While we all want to resume a normal life, the simple truth is the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19, a sometimes fatal respiratory infection, is still out there." Guam Daily Post Editorial, May 24, 2020
It is time to engage the central issue of what makes Catholic worship different than every other "worship" and why Mass "via livestream" CANNOT be our "common channel" to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass - if you are Catholic, of course.
For almost every other Christian expression of public worship, "worship" is, for the most part, a combination of singing and sermons. That's something that can be done at home, at church, in a barn, on the beach, or sitting in front of a screen.
But Catholic worship is not that. The sermon usually makes up only about 10% of a Catholic worship service ("The Mass") and is sometimes optional, and singing (this will surprise most Catholics) is not even permitted except for under a very strict formula (as outlined in the post-conciliar document Musicam Sacram).
Catholic worship is different because the Catholic Mass is exactly what Jesus commanded us to do when on the night before he died, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ instructed his apostles to "DO THIS."
He didn't give a sermon, and other than the strictly formulaic psalms as prescribed for the Passover he was celebrating, he didn't lead them in song.
Worship is very serious business for anyone who takes Jesus Christ seriously. For a Catholic, there are three main instructions in Scripture relative to worship:
1. "Do this in memory of me." While Christ's command is found in Matthew, Mark, and Luke, the most complete form is provided by Paul: And giving thanks, broke and said: Take ye and eat: This is my body, which shall be delivered for you. This do for the commemoration of me. 1 Cor 11:24
2. "And on the first day of the week, when we were assembled to break bread." Acts 20:7. Here we see that the first Christian communities understood that they were to assemble on the first day of the week, every week, and "break bread," which is of course in obedience to Christ's command to "DO THIS."
3. "Every one therefore that shall confess me before men, I will also confess him before my Father who is in heaven. But he that shall deny me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven." Mt 10:32-33. While confessing Jesus before men certainly means preaching, sharing, and living the Gospel, our Church teaches us - as Jesus did - that the highest form of confessing Christ before men is the public celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. And millions of Christians have gone to their certain and often horrible deaths over the last two millennia for daring to "assemble to break bread," and many still do.
By the way, that last verse is also why it is a mortal sin to willfully miss Mass. Another word for "confess" is "acknowledge" (See: New American Bible) And how did Christ command us to acknowledge him? With songs? With sermons? With private prayer? No. While all of the above still count, Christ commanded us to acknowledge him, to commemorate him, to confess him before men with our physical - and for centuries often life threatening - presence at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
"Corona" is Latin for "Crown." It is time for us to come out of our holes and take the crown we have conceded to Caesar (wherein we have denied him "before men") and give it back to Jesus Christ. But only if you're Catholic.

PANIS ANGELICUS
For weeks now, and especially in the wake of President Trump's "open the churches now" order, we are bombarded with mantras such as "we don't need a building to worship" and the like.
Well, if you're not Catholic, you are right. If you're not Catholic, your "building" is well, a building. And you are also right, if you're not Catholic, that you can "worship" at home or wherever. But that's if you're not Catholic.
If you're Catholic, then it really is about the building. Because if you're Catholic, your church building is not a building, it is a sacred space, a consecrated space, a descendant of the Tabernacle of Moses wherein was kept the Ark of the Covenant and upon which the Shekinah, the cloud of God's glory, settled.
And our modern Catholic churches, despite the oft irreverence and sometimes sacrilege that occurs in them, are no different.
The Ark of the Covenant of Moses' day, which once held the Manna from Heaven, is now our Sacred Tabernacles, which now hold the True Manna from Heaven, the Bread of Angels, the Panis Angelicus, the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
But only if you're Catholic.

CANON LAWYER: BISHOPS' CANCELLATION OF SACRAMENTS "A JOKE"

CATHOLIC PASTOR SUES NEW JERSEY GOVERNOR
Robinson alleges he was threatened with arrest if he hosted Mass at his church.
Priest suing Murphy over ban on religious gatherings, claims order violates Constitution
A Catholic priest in North Caldwell is suing Gov. Phil Murphy over the governor's stay-at-home directive, alleging in a new federal lawsuit that the state's prohibition of religious services during the coronavirus outbreak violates the U.S. Constitution.
The Rev. Kevin Robinson, of St. Anthony of Padua church, says in the four-count complaint that churches can easily accommodate the kind of social distancing that keeps some commercial businesses open. Murphy issued the directive, Executive Order 107, on March 21, banning all gatherings of individuals with some exceptions, not including religious services. CONTINUED

PRAYING WITHOUT PERMISSION
While most of us await the "all clear" from our government to go back to church or back to work or back to getting regular haircuts, some of our Catholic laity have decided to go back to praying together without permission from anyone.
On Wednesday about 20 people gathered at the former police “koban" in Barrigada for a rosary in celebration of Our Lady of Fatima, the Blessed Virgin Mary, despite a government mandate limiting gathering to no more than 10 people due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I thought if they are opening the mall, then we should be able to have our rosary.”

BISHOPS CANNOT FORBID COMMUNION ON THE TONGUE...NOR SHOULD THEY WANT TO
Note: Aside from the current Covid frenzy, this is the problem with "Eucharistic Minsters" generally. At least we get to see the priest wash his hands before he distributes Holy Communion. Who knows where the "minister's" hand have been prior to their "handing" the sacred host to a communicant.

Communion in the hand is no more hygienic than Communion in the mouth. Indeed, it can be dangerous for contagion. From a hygienic point of view, the hand carries a huge amount of bacteria. Many pathogens are transmitted through the hands. Whether by shaking other people’s hands or frequently touching objects, such as door handles or handrails and grab bars in public transport, germs can quickly pass from hand to hand; and with these unhygienic hands and fingers people then touch often their nose and mouth. Also, germs can sometimes survive on the surface of the touched objects for days...
....The next time you stop at McDonald’s, you may want to skip the new self-order machines, as a recent study found fecal matter on every touchscreen tested at the fast food restaurant. Conducted in November [2019] by U.K. newspaper Metro, the study swabbed screens at eight different McDonald’s locations in London and Birmingham. All of the self-order kiosks tested positive for an array of harmful bacteria.

CARDINAL SARAH: "INSANE"
...one of the solutions being considered is a “take-out” communion, because the distribution of the Eucharist is considered to have a “high contagion risk.” This proposal would see hosts placed in plastic bags to be consecrated by the priests and left on shelves for people to take.
“No, no, no,” Sarah told Nuova Bussola Quotidiana, an Italian conservative site, in an interview published Saturday. “It’s absolutely not possible, God deserves respect, you can’t put him in a bag...
Top Vatican cardinal dismisses ‘take-out communion’ as ‘insane’
As Catholic bishops across Europe and in the United States discuss reopening Mass to the faithful and ponder what to do about the distribution of communion, considered a “high risk of contagion” moment, Cardinal Robert Sarah of Ghana, head of the Vatican’s liturgical office, warned that the answer cannot be the “desecration of the Eucharist.”
The cardinal said that “no one can be denied confession and communion,” so even if the faithful cannot attend Mass, if a priest is asked to give either they must oblige. CONTINUED

IT'S TIME FOR OUR RELIGIOUS LEADERS TO COME OUT OF THE CLOSET

Advice for the Church: Better Call Saul

A local pastor is walking dozens of miles to raise funds for the poor and hungry, many of whom have been created by the government’s COVID-19 economic lockdown. That’s a nice thing to do. But his own church in the Washington, D.C. area remains essentially closed, except for “private” displays of Christianity. Some of his parishioners entered the church to fill the pews with pictures of the people who used to be there. That’s sad. (CONTINUED)

CORONA VIRUS THUGGERY VS REDEMPTIONIS SACRAMENTUM
Amidst the discussion of permitting Mass again, some bishops are prohibiting the reception of the Sacred Host on the tongue. Catholics need to know their rights as Catholics in order not to be bullied out of those rights by their pastors in the same way Catholics were bullied out of their rights by the secular caesars.
"I am a parish priest in a Midwestern diocese. Our bishop is allowing us to celebrate the Mass publicly again soon. One of the stipulations is that communion can only be given in the hand. Do you have any words of comfort or wisdom for members of my congregation who only receive on the tongue?"
Words of comfort for those whose bishop demand Communion only on the hand?
by Fr. John Zuhlsdorf
Since I have not seen the wording, the text, of what the bishop sent out, I can’t say much. Past experience suggests that these documents really express the preference of the bishop (or rather the one who wrote it for the bishop) but expressed in such a highfalutin way that people who read it thing that it is a legitimate law, even when it contradicts the Church’s universal laws.
