  1. I regard you Tim as loyal opposition. I have appreciated you as a source of information regarding the case with Fr. Gofigan. I would have been more upset if I didn't know the accurate facts. I'm glad you have other sources of income because I worry that you could be pressured out of your cathedral giftshop position.

  2. A highly censored "admonition" from a heirachy. Ceased or dessist; and "highly recommended" at that? I thought we have grown up and the universe ecompasses ALL.

  3. It is obvious that the Archbishop is getting his backers in Rome ready for a fight by attacking anybody or anything that might challenge the ubiquitous nature of the Archbishop. I am afraid that Pope Francis has a lot of work trying to clean up our church from the ill mannered and ill will of some of the princes of the Church, who obviously do not understand, comprehend or grasp the concept of service to their flock.
If somebody has damaged (irrevocably?) the authority of the Archbishop on Guam, it is without a doubt the Archbishop himself, and nobody else but the Archbishop.
I am sure the Cardinal is uncomfortable with the light being shed on the inappropriate action of the Archbishop of Guam, but he should certainly try to see that the light free us from the darkness. By defending the Darkness, the Cardinal is on the wrong side of this struggle.
Lets pray that he will see the light.

  4. Yes there is a division within the Catholic Church. The archbishop needs to tend to all within the Catholic Church and not just the Neocathecuminal communities. Sometimes I wonder if the archbishop takes his orders from Father Pius.

  5. If you haven't already, check out the Wiki entry for Cardinal O'Brien. He appears very much to be a faithful, courageous and orthodox defender of the faith. Obviously, he has to take claims of scandalous conduct by a knight against an archbishop very seriously; and, without more information, accept the view of the archbishop and admonish the knight. So, his letter to Tim does not diminish my view of him. I just hope and pray that this situation will induce the Cardinal to more closely examine the Church on Guam. In addition to the Church being cleaved into two competing churches, there are problems that have been 25 years in the making that desperately need to be addressed.
