WHERE ARE OUR CATHOLIC LAWYERS???

Guam has plenty of them. Wouldn't it be great if one of them went to bat for our church like this AG is doing?

Reopen churches to in-person services or face legal action, AG says

FRANKFORT, Ky. (KT) - Attorney General Daniel Cameron is calling upon Gov. Andy Beshear to reopen churches to in-person services or face legal action.

During a Tuesday press conference outside the Capitol, Cameron said, “The Governor should allow churches to resume in-person services, consistent with the (U.S.) Constitution and CDC guidelines.  And if he doesn’t, we will be forced to file a lawsuit and allow a judge to determine whether his order, as it pertains to religious groups, is constitutional.” (CONTINUED)

WE NEED A HERO

After Fr. Paul Gofigan, representing the Archdiocese of Agana, nicely asked Governor LLG for permission for Catholics to once again attend Mass, baptize babies, and anoint the sick - amongst other sacramental acts, Governor LLG, via her Director of Public Health, Mrs. Linda Unpingco DeNorcey, basically said HELL NO:

"DPHSS neither supports, nor approves any sacramental services..."

What an awesome opportunity we have here!

Let's face it. In the wake of Apuron's atrocities and now the world's largest clergy sex abuse scandal (per capita), it is understandable that certain Catholic Church leaders might be shy about standing up to Caesar LLG. But this is exactly what "they" need to do.

And I say "they" because, unlike the Apuron scandal wherein it was the laity who led the way, the laity cannot do a thing to restore the sacraments only priests can provide.

It's actually too bad the legislature didn't pass the bill which would have given Caesar LLG the power she wanted to arrest violators of her edicts. Just imagine the powerful regenerative power for our Church if Caesar LLG arrested Archbishop Byrnes - or any priest for that matter - for celebrating Mass!

Faith in our Church would be restored JUST LIKE THAT!

But even without getting arrested, our ordained Church leaders can accomplish the same thing by simply doing exactly what they nicely asked Caesar LLG for permission to do.

There is not a thing Caesar LLG can do to stop them. Only "they" can stop them.

Oh, and P.S. It's time for you to move all of your accounts out of the Bank of Guam.

YOUNG PEOPLE: "PLEASE GIVE US BACK THE HOLY MASS." OLD GUYS: "STOP WHINING."

“Such return to normalcy is still far away,” he added. But he insists that one should allow certain Masses with hygienic measures.

German cardinal: Access to public Mass is a ‘fundamental right’
'It is about a fundamental right that is essential for our free society.'

Woelki's statement comes at a time where one of his fellow German bishops, Bishop Gerhard Feige of Magdeburg, is calling those faithful who are asking for the Sacraments “whining,” and “belligerent.” (FULL STORY)

ARE WE FREE TO ENTER? .... YOU ARE NOW (SMH)

And while Walmart and other commercial enterprises will profit exponentially from the "virus-crisis," the real reason churches have been closed has nothing to do with their motives...only ours - or should we say - no motive at all. Shame on us.

BUYING BOOZE...OKAY. CATHOLIC MASS?...NOT SO MUCH

CNA Staff, Apr 21, 2020 / 06:00 pm (CNA).- Public religious services cannot be stopped “indefinitely” during the pandemic, especially when liquor stores are considered “essential” businesses, two law professors argued in the New York Times on Tuesday.

Bans on religious gatherings cannot last indefinitely, warn law professors

“Religious leaders and congregations will have to remember that the First Amendment is not an exemption from law applicable to all. And government officials must not forget that religious exercise is at the apex of our national values.” (CONTINUED)

POPE FEARS TV MASS WILL LEAD TO GNOSTICISM

"A familiarity without community, a familiarity without the Bread, a familiarity without the Church, without the people, without the sacraments is dangerous. It can become a familiarity - let's say - that is gnostic, a familiarity for me alone, detached from the people of God. The familiarity of the apostles with the Lord was always communal, was always at the table, a sign of community. It was always with the Sacrament, with the Bread...Even the Sacrament: today you have it, the Eucharist, but the people who are connected with us, only spiritual communion. And this is not the Church - From the homily of Pope Francis for Mass at Santa Marta on the morning of April 17, 2020

The Pope Against Masses on TV: "This Is Not the Church"

On March 12, Pope Francis had all the churches of his diocese of Rome closed, on account of the coronavirus pandemic. But he immediately regretted it, and the day after he had them reopened. CONTINUED

BAPTISTS BRING SUIT AGAINST THEIR GOVERNOR - SHOW THE CATHOLICS HOW TO DO IT

“Plaintiffs are likely to suffer irreparable harm in the form of denial of their constitutional right to the free exercise of their religion, arising from state-imposed restrictions on religious exercises that are not narrowly tailored to further the compelling governmental interest in halting the spread of COVID- 19, and which are more severe than restrictions on some comparable non-religious activities.” - John W. Broomes, United States District Judge

WITHOUT THE GRAVEST OF REASONS

"But it remains a tremendous spiritual loss to be unable to participate in the Mass, and it is obviously a serious abuse to prevent the faithful from participating without the gravest of reasons."

MAYBE THIS PLAGUE IS GOD'S JUDGMENT AFTER ALL

Let "the Church" (or even anybody who goes to church) speak publicly against such things as abortion and same-sex marriage, and he/she/they can expect to be immediately crucified on the cross of "separation of church and state." But let "the State" bully the Church - as it now is - and there doesn't seem to be a peep of protest.

It just seems odd that if we can go to the grocery store, the post office, the hardware store, the gas station, and even an auto repair shop - so long as we social-distance, why can't we go to church? The same precautions used in these places of business - such as tape on the floor, requiring masks, and greeters who spray disinfectant on your hands - could be applied at churches - at least for Sunday Mass.

We could even receive Holy Communion. We would line up 6 feet apart. Tape could be put in the aisle to insure this. The priest could wear a mask and even gloves -which he would put on just to distribute communion so that the gloves only touch the hosts. The host, even if it was contaminated, would not pose a health threat because once it is ingested, the stomach acids would kill the virus. (The virus has to get into your lungs to cause a problem.)

What is particularly disconcerting is the seeming embrace of so many Catholics of what is essentially Protestant worship. Protestant worship consists mostly of listening to a sermon and praising and praying, all of which can be done alone or remotely. Catholic worship is something different altogether. In fact, the first few verses of this past Sunday's first reading describes it exactly:

ACTS 2
They devoted themselves
to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life,
to the breaking of bread and to the prayers.

We don't go to Mass to hear a sermon, though we may. We don't go to Mass to sing and praise or even pray, though we may. We can do those things by watching Mass on television or on our phones. We go to Mass for the "communal life" and "the breaking of the bread."

That's not something we can do at home.

And then there's the cute stuff floating about social media posted by well-meaning people about how the church isn't a building, and "we are the church," etc. That is true to a point, but it stops at the Mass which (barring an indult) cannot be celebrated outside a consecrated space on a consecrated altar. But once again, that's why Catholicism is different.

On another, but related note, it is also a curious thing that the same governor who has issued the edict to close our churches is the same governor whose main concern only a few months ago was to recruit an abortionist. Of course, nary a peep was made about that either.

Maybe this plague is God's judgment after all. It wouldn't be the first time. Or maybe just a warning?

SEX ABUSERS’ PARADISE (Sounds familiar)

New allegations rock diocese of Honolulu

Honolulu (ChurchMilitant.com) - New homosexual clerical abuse claims are being leveled against the diocese of Honolulu, with accusations the Church knew about it and did nothing.

On Tuesday, attorney Mark Gallagher and noted clerical sex abuse law firm Jeff Anderson & Associates issued a press release regarding a new lawsuit filed against the diocese of Honolulu in reference to the sexual predation of Honolulu priest Bartholomew O'Leary and Bp. Joseph Ferrario — both now deceased. (CONTINUED)

LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE WONDERING

Can Priests Cancel Public Masses, and Say a Private Mass Instead?

Q:  I’d like to help my fellow parishioners clarify the difference between “canceling all Masses,” and priests who are saying a “private” Mass and either recording it or live-streaming it for the faithful to watch from home. Would this be a correct statement: It’s not that Masses are cancelled; it’s that the faithful coming to […]

GUTTING THE OPEN GOVERNMENT LAW NEVER OK, EVEN IN A CRISIS

"So, with a couple of strokes of her pen, the governor enabled regulatory chicanery, destroyed the public's right to know what its government is doing and violated the doctrine of separation of powers by invading the province of the Legislature."

PELL TO BE FREED

Soon after Apuron was accused by a lone accuser in 2016 - which caused "TONY" to "run to Rome," Cardinal Pell, who was in Rome at the very same time, was similarly accused.

But unlike Apuron who went into hiding, Pell immediately boarded a plane to Australia to face his accusers. And now this...which should tell you all you need to know.

Cdl. Pell unanimously acquitted of sex abuse charge by Australian High Court, will be freed

But things aren't over for Apuron.

There is a civil trial coming up in Federal Court. And he is still maintaining his innocence. His defense is that he was a victim of a real estate conspiracy LED BY "Tim Rohr."

"Tim Rohr and his associates launched a vicious and calumnious attack on the Archbishop and the Church." AOA - May 31, 2016

I hope I get called to testify. Because there are a lot more people than Apuron THAT I NTEND TO EXPOSE.

Some of whom are hiding IN PLAIN SIGHT....and some who are just hiding...just as fast as they can.

I don't quit.
