ROME, 1048 - OR - AGANA, 2017

Dante speaks to Pope Nicholas III, committed to the Inferno for his simony, in Gustave Doré's wood engraving, 1861. (portrait of the Third Bolgia of the Eighth Circle of Hell)

"The whole world had fallen into malignity. Sanctity had disappeared, justice had perished, and truth had been buried. Evil reigned, avarice dominated. Simon Magus possessed the Churches. Priests did not blush to take wives, entering into abominable marriages and giving legitimacy to those with whom, according to the law, they must not even live together in a single house.… But worst of all, hardly any cleric could be found who was not a simoniac, or who had not been ordained by a simoniac.… Such was the Church, such were the bishops and priests, such were some of the Roman pontiffs, who had the obligation to enlighten everyone else. All salt had gone flat, and there was nothing with which it could be restored, 24 and if the Lord had not left us a seed, we would have been like Sodom and Gomorrah. 25,26" -St. Bruno, Bishop of Segni.

THIS IS ALL WE NEED TO KNOW

Posted by Tim

There is some thought that yesterday's announcement about the allegations of sex abuse against the Australian Cardinal Pell will somehow help our case against Apuron.

Maybe.

I don't like Pell because he's a neocat sympathizer. But he's also a hated "conservative," and as secretariat for the economy, he is tasked with cleaning up one of the most corrupt places in the Vatican, an assignment rife with land mines.

Pell himself, not the allegations against him, may be our greatest help in proving our case against Apuron. Upon being accused, Pell will be going from Rome to Home to face the charges against him. Upon being accused, Apuron went from Home to Rome to flee the charges against him.

PDN EDITORIAL STAFF - DESPERATELY UNINFORMED!

Posted by Tim

In "Our View: Repeal abortion law that violates patients' rights" (Pacific Daily News, June 28), the PDN editorial staff begins with this:
A law passed late last year that requires women, prior to an abortion, to certify on a government checklist they have received information regarding the health risks of abortion must be repealed.

SOME ACTUAL FACTS ABOUT GUAM'S ABORTION REPORTING LAW

Posted by Tim

The following is from a just released PDN story:
Sen. Frank B. Aguon Jr., D-Yona, who wrote the law, asked whether Public Health verifies compliance with the abortion law, particularly the requirement that printed materials be made available to patients prior to the abortion, and that a checklist is completed, certifying that the patient received the information. The printed materials provide information about the development of the fetus and about alternatives to abortion.
"We have not verified whether the law is being followed, as there may be issues related to HIPAA (The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996)," Public Health Director James W. Gillan said in a response letter to Aguon.

HONEST DATA

Warning: A very uncomfortable topic

Today's story in the PDN about the Mass and burial for unclaimed fetuses retrieved from the GMH morgue recalled to mind some research The Esperansa Project was working on a couple years ago.

At the time of our research, there were the bodies of 30 infants in the morgue. A source had confirmed that several fetuses were recognizable as developed babies (not pea pods).

Statistically, these bodies were not the product of a miscarriage, so what were they?

We knew from the personal account of one adoptive father that abortions gone bad end up at the emergency room at GMH. Children who survived an abortion prior to the enactment of THE INFANT CHILD'S RIGHT TO LIVE ACT in 2013 (an Esperansa effort), could be legally left to die.

I understand that the other Adrian (not Cristobal) is hard at work attacking Msgr. James on the other blog. Just letting you know we know it's you, Guamboy. LOL.

THE UNEXPLAINED DEATH OF POPE CLEMENT II

In his desperate attempt to get Pope Clement II to do something about the evil bishop of Pesaro, St. Peter Damian wrote:
"Therefore, most blessed lord, endeavor to raise up the justice that has been trampled and cast aside, thus apply the discipline of ecclesiastical vigor, so that the party of iniquity will be cast down from its place of arrogance, and the soul of the humble faithfully recover in anticipation of the good to come."
So what did Pope Clement II do?

The Introduction to the Book of Gomorrah tells us that while trying to eliminate the practice of simony (one of the practices of the bishop of Pesaro), his pontificate was "cut short by his unexplained death while traveling through (you guessed it) the diocese of Pesaro."

(My note: Do not think that things are any less vicious today amongst the hierarchy. They may be far worse. And there is no St. Peter Damian in sight. BTW, for a brief history of that mad period in the Church known as "The Iron Papacy, a 94 year period in which there were 24 popes, seven of whom were assassinated or died under suspicious circumstances, a period which provided for the evils St. Peter Damian would later attempt to correct, read THE STRANGE TRIAL OF THE GOOD LOOKING POPE .

PICKETING APURON. SUNDAY, JUNE 25, 2017

MORE THAN 1000 YEARS AGO....

Posted by Tim

More than 1000 years ago, St. Peter Damian wrote a letter to the then pope, Gregory VI, which is eerily like the letter we would, ourselves, write to Pope Francis at this very moment as he considers Apuron's fate:
"However, whether it might be reasonable for the world to expect these things of which we write, the Church of Pesaro will first give a clear indication of good hope. For unless the aforesaid church is taken away from the hand of that incestuous adulterer, perjurer and robber, all the hope of the restoration of the world that has been raised among the peoples will be completely drained. Indeed, all turn their eyes to this purpose, all raise their ears to this one voice. And if that bishop, implicated in so many crimes, is restored to the height of the episcopacy, the Apostolic See will be utterly unable to do any further good." (Book of Gomorrah - from the Introduction).
That last sentence says it all.

Ryan A. MacDonald has left a new comment on your post "FR. GORDON MACRAE: "On the Island of Guam, Is the ...":

Nowhere in Father MacRae's post did he suggest that all accusers are lying. He said that efforts must be made to distinguish the real from the fraudulent when large amounts of money change hands. Who could disagree with this? Those who do simply raise a cloud of suspicion above their own points of view. As for MacRae himself, this has been written about extensively. The Wall Street Journal thoroughly investigated claims against him and declared them to be fraudulent. I have research this case extensively, so before another stone is cast, you might consider some of my results documented and itemized here: http://araminthethicket.blogspot.com/2016/08/the-father-gordon-j-macrae-story.html

FR. GORDON MACRAE: "On the Island of Guam, Is the Eighth Commandment Discarded?"

I'm willing to cut Fr. Gordon Macrae some slack. He is in prison for something he said he didn't do. It happens. In fact, I personally am working right now to help someone who I believe to be wrongly accused.

However, unfortunately for Fr. Macrae, he thinks that Diana is a credible source and has composed this whole post based on "her" facts. It's too bad. Macrae might have actually found more support for his personal cause if he was willing to do a little real research and get his own facts.

His willingness to seek the truth, however painful it might be, about his fellow clergy, could have lent credibility to his own claim of innocence and might have inspired more people to support him. But he didn't. In fact, he uses St. Thomas More to defend Apuron - all based on "The Diana."

On the Island of Guam, Is the Eighth Commandment Discarded?

I don't know if Fr. Macrae will publish the comment I left on his post, so I will publish it here.

GUAM DAILY POST: Lawsuit: Boy abused more than 100 times, victim was 7 when it started

“Don’t worry, my boy. It won’t hurt. I’ll make sure I put a lot of coconut oil.”

A former Guam resident filed a civil lawsuit in the District Court of Guam yesterday alleging he was sexually abused by a priest “more than 100
times” beginning on his 7th birthday.

Now residing in Oregon, the plaintiff, using his initials J.A., sued the Archdiocese of Agana, alleging he was subject to three years of sexual molestation and rape by father Ray Techaira, who is now deceased. CONTINUED

GUILTY

Posted by Tim

If there was ever anyone who incriminated himself by his own actions it is one Anthony S. Apuron.

In the Father Paul affair, he incriminated himself by blabbering about how he had been stalking Fr. Paul for two years. If disobeying an order was the real grounds for firing Gofigan of Santa Barbara Parish, then there was no reason to stalk him for two years. Yet this is what he said he did at a clergy retreat in the Philippines in October of 2013.

In the Msgr. James affair, if the charges against Msgr. James were true then Apuron shouldn't have had any problem in giving Msgr. James the written list of charges. Yet he refused. Apuron NEVER gave Msgr. James a written list of charges because Apuron knew that Msgr. James could refute them.

In the RMS property affair, if Apuron knew that what he was doing was a good thing, then we would have seen a big announcement in the Umatuna about his giving the property to RMS "for perpetual use." We would have seen such an announcement because we had been told ad nauseum about how RMS was "gift for Guam." So giving the property to RMS "for perpetual use" would have been something to celebrate. Instead, the gift was kept under wraps and was only discovered three years later.

Regarding the sex abuse cases against him, if Apuron was innocent then there was no need to go into hiding and attempt to change his appearance. If he was innocent he would have walked outside into broad daylight and invited an investigation to clear his name. But he didn't. He ran and hid.

FR. JEFF WANTS IT BOTH WAYS

Fr. Jeff wants it both ways...or is he simply part of the Plan of Deceit?

He tells us that the priests who are not living in the archdiocese are "on mission."

He then tells us that they are no longer receiving financial support from us.

If these missing priests are really "on mission" then they are on official archdiocesan assignment and it is canonically ILLEGAL to withhold normal financial support.

So either these missing priests are NOT really "on mission" or Fr. Jeff is supporting a policy which violates Canon Law.

Of course the truth is they are NOT on mission. They are AWOL. Where is Wadeson, Apuron, Luis Camacho, Fabio...?

Why did we spend tens of thousands of dollars on Jason Granado and then give him to Saipan? Or is there another reason he is in Saipan.

On mission? Quit lying to us, Jeff.

SNAP - PERSECUTING VICTIMS OF CLERGY SEX ABUSE...AGAIN

Poor Joelle Casteix of SNAP. She has nothing better to do than brood over the fact that normal people like us in the pews were actually able to stand up to evil all by ourselves and not depend on the professionals like her and her lawyer friends who have made a nice career out being the "professionals."

It is critical for SNAP and the law firms it sleeps with to destroy any alternative to themselves, lest they cease to matter, and more importantly, line their own pockets. This is why Casteix is obsessed with destroying Attorney Michael Caspino to the point of laughable lies.

Casteix writes
In April, a mainlander church lawyer came to Archbishop Michael Byrnes and told him he had a plan. A plan get the sex abuse cases out of the courts. They’d disguise it as “Hope and Healing.” They’d focus messaging on rebuilding spiritual bonds with the church, prayer … things like that. And no one would ever learn the truth.
It is hard not to use profanity in responding to such a small brain pretending to be a big one. Casteix either doesn't know crap or she's a pathetic liar. After all we have been through to expose Apuron and his evils do you really think we would support an organization that was here to hide what we have worked four years to expose?

Hell no!

SO, ARCHBISHOP BYRNES!! WHAT IS IT GOING TO BE?

Well here we are dear Archbishop. We have arrived fairly fast to the famous cross in the road.
Now you have to decide which one of the "way" to follow.

You gave us hope that things will change, and  that the evil that almost toppled our Church on Guam,
would not prevail.

You have made a few mistakes, specially in regards to Adrian Cristobal, for which I was quite critical, but overall, until now, despite some poor advises and some confusing situations, you have made the best of a bad situation.

That was until last week. Then came the inane appointments to the Presbyteral council. It was closely followed by the disastrous presentation of Fr Jeff on K57.
What the heck has bitten you both?

THE SAINT OF THE DAY...AND FOR OUR DAY

A monk who stood up to other monks. A monk who obviously cared more about TRUTH over "peace."

For those in need of a little history, St. Peter Damian penned the infamous Book of Gomorrah a few years after Romuald's death:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liber_Gomorrhianus
In this, Petrus Damiani made an attack on homosexual practices, mutual masturbation, copulation between the thighs, anal copulation and solitary masturbation,[1] as subversive disruptions against the moral order occasioned by the madness associated with an excess of lust. He was especially indignant about priests having sexual relationships with adolescent boys. He singles out superiors who, due to excessive and misplaced piety, have been lax in their duty to uphold church discipline. He opposes the ordination of those who engage in homosexual sex and wants those already ordained dismissed from Holy Orders. Those who misuse the sacraments to defile boys are treated with particular contempt.

A GLIMMER OF LIGHT

Posted by Frenchie

To speak frankly, I was a little concerned last weekend, when I was first sent a copy of Archbishop Byrnes' Aviso.

The first six months of this year, have been a little bit of an emotional roller coaster for many of us.
We have been caught between the good feelings of the actions of a new and refreshing Archbishop, while at the same time, we also have been very frustrated at times by his lack of grasp of the evil at bay, specially in regards to the evil doings and plannings of the Neos.

Claims against church exceed $530M

CONTINUED

A note I posted on the news story:

If the Archdiocese follows the experienced advice of Attorney Mike Caspino and doesn't mess up, only "non-ministerial assets" will have to be sold and NO charitable works will be interrupted. But if the Archdiocese listens to the "San Francisco attorneys" and the others who want to fight this, the Archdiocese will have to declare bankruptcy and then all assets will be at the mercy of a judge. As for the picketers, their goal has nothing to do with law suits. The only goal from the beginning was the removal of Apuron as Archbishop of Agana, a title and position he still holds. So the picket will continue.
From the outset of this battle (and it IS a battle), I have prayed every day asking God to let me know if he didn't want me to do this. I didn't want to get involved in this in the first place. I had a lot to lose. And there was a million to one chance anything I did would make any difference.

But I decided that making a difference was not up to me. I believed God only wanted me to tell the truth and to stand up to lies. And so I did

WHY WE LOST

There are 34 priests incardinated in the Archdiocese of Agana. Of these 34, 24 (71%) are Neo’s. Of the 24 Neo’s 16 are not on Guam or are at RMS, i.e., not involved in the running of the Archdiocese of Agana. 24 minus 16 leaves 8 or 24%.

By permitting priests who have nothing to do with our archdiocese, some of whom have been gone for years, some of whom refused to respond to anyone but Apuron, some of whom are hiding (Apuron and Luis Camacho), Fr. Jeff and Archbishop Byrnes have permitted 24% of the Neo priest to become 71%.

Canon Law may require that all priests incardinated in a diocese have a vote in the election of the presbyteral council, but anyone with a brain would assume that these priests must be in good standing and not deserters, perverts in hiding, or priests who refused to accept their assignments so they were awarded with travel and furthering their education.

According to this list, and per what Fr. Jeff told us on the radio today about who voted, we have to assume that Apuron and Luis Camacho both voted, and of course, voted for David C. Quitugua, who Byrnes then further promoted to an exclusive position on the College of Consultors.

Note: Louis Brouillard is incardinated but since he most certainly was left out of the vote, he is not included in the count.
Note: This list was made from the 2016 Archdiocesan Directory. If there are updates, please advise and we will update the spreadsheet.
Note: It is very obvious that they voted to keep Msgr. James Benavente OUT.

This is a link to the spreadsheet.

APURON OUT, APURON OUT, APURON OUT, OUT!!!

Faithful Catholics,

The appointment of Msgr. David Quitugua  by Archbishop Byrnes to the College of Consultors of the Archdiocese of Agaña does not sit very well. Msgr. Quitugua The Lesser was one of the key players in the the deceitful scheme to give the Yona property to RMS. He also denied us (LFM ) visit to RMS.  Remember--we found out that he had orders from Cardinal Filoni (baloney)  not to allow the visit. Tim has published a complete "rap sheet" for  Msgr. Quitugua at A REALLY BAD GUY.  Quitugua was one of apuron's top henchmen--something to remember as we continue our quest for APURON OUT.

Please bring your friends, families, and neighbors Sunday, June 18, 2017 to the front of Cathedral Basilica from 9:00-9:45 a.m. Stay vigilant and keep the faith.

QUITE FRANKLY, FR. JEFF....

Janet B - Mangilao has left a new comment on your post "PDN: Concerned Catholics seeks removal of 5 church...":

What an amazing day on K-57 this morning! Tim called in to throw a bit of reality into the naming of Quitugua to two powerful councils. The average Catholic is asleep to the problems in our Church. They will only wake up when their personal world is rocked into reality.

But guess what. I think this is starting to happen with more people, as we see the cash spigot quickly going dry. This is a sure sign that people are finally catching on. But not all.

Sadly, our leadership is still asleep to the problems, having chosen a route of "make peace, not war". Fr Jeff himself said as much this morning in response to the reality Tim was painting. Fr Jeff doesn't see a war, he is just trying to make peace.

UPDATE ON "APURON OUT" - AND LOOKING FORWARD TO WATCHING DAVID SQUIRM

Posted by Tim
It's time to take a serious and sober look at what we are really after - or at least what I am after. My goals have always been twofold:

1. Expose Apuron and the evils he perpetrated - with the aim of having him removed as Archbishop of Agana.

2. Expose the machinations of the leadership of the Neocatechumenal Way, first within our diocese, and beyond that, the rest of the world.

While I would also like to see Apuron "defrocked," that was never my aim. "Defrocked" became more a battle cry for the desire of many to have Apuron punished for his demonstrable wickedness.

With talk of a forthcoming conclusion of Apuron's canonical trial, I believe that the most we can hope for from the Vatican is his removal from active ministry in the Archdiocese of Agana. As has often been speculated, he will be made to retire to a so-called "life of prayer."

Make no mistake, this is still a verdict of "guilty" even if the Vatican won't call it that. If they say anything, it will be more along the lines of he has "lost his ability to lead," or something like that. In fact, any mention of sex abuse will probably be avoided. The Vatican will default to "lapses in administrative decisions."

We have to understand that this is simply what it is, while at the same time, recognizing that we have accomplished our goal which at its most basic has always been: APURON OUT!

On the civil front, I am hoping that Apuron's victims and Attorney Lujan will NOT settle out of court. While charges against clergy who are either dead or dead broke, out of court settlements are going to be better for everyone.

However, the charges against Apuron MUST go to court. And the reason is not just so that the victims can find justice, but also because of what we can learn through depositions from the likes of Cristobal, Quitugua, The Waldo, Apuron himself, and maybe even the "Dakon."

There is good reason to believe that a lot more than just the covering up of decades-old sex crimes was going on. And now that Quitugua has been elected to the Presbyteral Council by his peers, and personally appointed to the College of Consultors by Archbishop Byrnes, it will be all the more fun to see him squirm on the stand.

APURON ADMITS GUILT....OR AT LEAST HIS ATTORNEY DOES

Yesterday, after a status conference at the District Court of Guam, the "trained lawyer" said this:

"...my client is not considering settling any cases until such time as a canonical trial is complete."

If Apuron did not commit any of the abuses he's accused of, then why is "settling" even on the table? If Apuron is clean, then his "trained lawyer" would have said:

"My client is not considering settling cases because there is nothing to settle. He did not do the things he has been accused of."

But she didn't.

THAT STRANGE NON DEVOTIONAL NEOCATECHUMENAL CORPUS CHRISTI

Posted by LaPaz, Jungle Watch Correspondent from Spain.

Let me tell some brushstrokes of history on the fest of Corpus Christi for us, catholics.

The feast of the Corpus Christi dates back to the end of the 13th century thanks to the visions of St. Julian of Mont Cornillon (Belgium) and the well-known miracle of Bolsena.

Saint Juliana was the prioress in the abbey of Mont Cornillon, the center of a movement of Eucharist adoration from which come some customs as the bells during consecration. Since she was young Saint Juliana showed great veneration for the Blessed Sacrament and in her visions the Church, represented by a full moon, appeared with a black stain that meant the absence of a fest in His honor.

Apuron knew what he was saying when he said "no one can get me." Of course, in the end, God will "get" us all. "Vengeance is mine," says the Lord.

But meanwhile we must do our utmost to "bring about the Kingdom of God on earth," even if it means purging our church leadership of those who "harm the little ones" and for whom Christ said "it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea." (Mt. 18:6)

Sadly, things have gotten so bad in our church because we have come to care more about being "nice" rather than being truthful.

Somewhere along the post-Vatican II way we got "good" mixed up with "nice." Or maybe we didn't get it mixed up at all. Maybe we found that "nice" was an easy place for the cowards to hide. I can't help but think of how "nice" is probably one of Satan's most effective tools. Read on:

A REALLY BAD GUY

This is great. It will renew our resolve to go after this charlatan for trafficking in bogus government documents. Here is just a partial list of Quitugua's slimy and vicious acts against the faithful of this archdiocese (links forthcoming):
  1. November 21, 2011. Participated with Apuron and Alberto in the theft of the Yona property from the Archdiocese of Agana.
  2. December 6, 2011. Lied to the Archdiocesan Finance Council, knowing that the Yona property had already been given to RMS.
  3. December 6, 2011. Threatened the Archdiocesan Finance Council and accused the members of a “vulnus” (trying to harm) Apuron.
  4. July 16, 2013. Wrote the letter demanding that Fr. Paul Gofigan resign as pastor of Santa Barbara and crafted the threat: “or face a more arduous and painful closure to your assignment.”
  5. July 26, 2014. Wrote and delivered the decree removing Msgr. James Benavente as Rector of the Cathedral. Refused to give Msgr. Benavente a list of the charges against him.
  6. August 3, 2014. Closed the Cathedral Museum one day after it was opened.
  7. August 4, 2014. Illegally withheld paychecks from Cathedral employees unless they signed a confidentiality agreement.
  8. August 7, 2014. Confiscated documents from the Cathedral that would have exonerated Msgr. James of the charges of financial mismanagement.
  9. December 5, 2014. Denied John Toves a meeting with Apuron and threatened to call the police if Toves visited the chancery again.
  10. January 23, 2015. Publicly trashed Msgr. James Benavente in the Cathedral parish bulletin by publishing a so-called “internal review.”
  11. November 29, 2015. Published in the Umatuna a bogus certificate of title for the Yona property, perpetrating a hoax that Quitugua was originally party to.
  12. June 5, 2016. Signed the decree banning the Concerned Catholics of Guam and decreeing it a “prohibited society.”
  13. September 7, 2016. Refused entrance of LFM to RMS saying that Cardinal Filoni had instructed that “no such visit can be made to the seminary.”

PDN - OPINION: Why are so many Guam males killing themselves?

The following was written in response to the Pacific Daily News' invitation for a submission for today's Sunday Forum topic: "How can Guam better ensure equality to people regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity?"

By Tim Rohr

For the purpose of the following, a “male” is defined as a human being with an X and a Y sex chromosome and who “gender identifies” as a biological male.

The U.S. suicide rate, categorized by sex, is scandalously disproportionate. Among males, the rate is four times higher than females, according to the National Institute of Mental Health in 2014.  On Guam, the rate is six times higher, with males making up 87 percent of suicide victims, according to “A profile of suicide on Guam” in 2011.
