A LETTER FROM FR. EFREN ADVERSARIO

July 30, 2014
Dear Mr Rohr,

My attention was recently piqued by separate verifiable sources about the Archbishop's public allegation of an improper relationship between Fr Matthew Blockley and I while I was in Manila these past months.  It is true I separated from the US Air Force due to my mother's condition.  I wanted to spend time with her, and Archbishop Apuron granted the leave.  During this time I was commuting between Naga City and Manila, and Fr Blockley was gracious enough to offer lodging while in Manila.  Upon hearing this allegation, I was bemused, befuddled and flummoxed by the questionable comedic intent and resolved to ignore it despite some urging from others to demand an apology from the perpetrator.

TIME TO REVIEW SOME FAMOUS SPEECHES BY ARCHBISHOP APURON

Since we have so many more viewers now, it might be helpful to them to know more about the root of our problem:

Here is Archbishop Apuron famously disassociating himself with the Catholic Church by discrediting the Prefect for the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Sacraments who had delivered an instruction in the name of Pope Benedict. For those who wonder how we can criticize "our" Archbishop, at this point, he CEASED to be a Catholic Archbishop because he ceased to be in union with Rome in addition to referring to the Neocatechumenal Way as "we" and "us". Thus he is no longer "ours!"

Why 'Straw Man Fallacy' was used

http://www.guampdn.com/article/20140731/OPINION02/307310012/Why-Straw-Man-Fallacy-used

It appears that Father John Wadeson, in his letter to the editor of July 25, has defaulted to what logicians call "The Straw Man Fallacy." This fallacy can be demonstrated thus: Person A has position X. Person B presents position Y (a distortion of X). Person B attacks position Y. Therefore X is wrong and A is the problem.
I am Person A. X, my position, is as follows:

YINGLING: "ARCHBISHOP APURON'S OPPRESSIVE RULE"

Your Excellency Archbishop Martin Krebs,

I am a protestant convert to our beloved Catholic Church, and did so
here in Guam with the guidance of, then Fr. James Benavente, now
Monsignor Benavente.

THE ARCHBISHOP "HAS BECOME UNSUITED FOR THE FULFILLMENT OF HIS OFFICE"

The following comment was posted at:

Thank you to all the brave people who are now putting their names to their positions. It is time.

By firing Mon. James, the arch is trying to throw suspicion off himself. The arch is the one who has been negligent of his duties as an archbishop. Some points from canon law:
Can. 378 §1 To be a suitable candidate for the episcopate, a person must:

MY RESPONSE TO THE PDN STORY: "CHURCH FINANCES IN SHAMBLES"

The story can be found here. Following is the comment I posted on the PDN website.

Here's a few facts for now. Not that they matter to Apuron.

The 7 million dollar debt was incurred in the building of the Saint Therese chapel and the addition of the museum at the Cathedral. Both projects were approved by all the required boards and councils and ultimately signed off on by Apuron, since HE is the only person who can do so.

The loan is current and is amortized over 30 years. It is also fairly recent. And as anyone with a mortgage knows, the mortgagee makes little headway knocking down the principal for the first several years. Apuron approved the projects with enthusiasm because they made him look good. There will be more facts to come, but for now:

THIS QUESTION DESERVES AN ANSWER

David G asks a question that I believe deserves an answer:

So if you believe Fr. John was innocent, why "bring it to light?" Maybe if you didn't, Monsignor James would still be the pastor. Again Tim, I am not saying your wrong rather, I am trying to fit things together.

My answer:

Well then here, let me help you. Here's what you should be asking. If Apuron believed he was innocent "why didn't HE bring it to light" when the charges were first published in 2004 on a national list? Why didn't HE bring it to light in 2000 when he incardinated Wadeson (who should have told him)? Why didn't Apuron bring it to light in 2011 when he recevied a call from the Los Angeles Archdiocese about Wadeson? Why didn't Apuron proclaim his innocence instead of getting rid of him? Hope that helps.

PNC NEWS STORY. JULY 29, 2014

NOTE TO ARCHBISHOP: THEY WILL STAY AND FIGHT.

TAKE THE POLL

10:59 PM. I made this post at 2:52 PM at which time there were 761 votes. By 8:40 PM the Archbishop's A grade had risen from 11% to 48% with about 10 "A"'s added per minute. The activity continued till 9:20 PM when the A grade rose to 56% and is still continuing. All that activity began after I posted this poll. So we obviously know who reads my blog, as if we didn't know already. (I catch Adrian on here all the time, the Archbishop too.)

It's very simple, Tim Rohr posted hugely embarrassing numbers and the Neo's mobilized. But no matter. Everyone knows that you can click as much as you want on these polls so they don't mean anything. What matters is that we have a lying, lawless bishop and a chancery seething with jealously and hate. It is now on display for all to see. Why else would they release their report to the media damning Msgr. James at the very moment his prayer vigil was beginning?

THE TAGAYTAY TREATMENT...and THE DESTRUCTION OF TWO MORE PRIESTS

3:41PM Link to audio has been fixed

As he left "the country" (as he put it), Fr. John Wadeson, a priest twice accused of child molestation, threatened that he had instructed his lawyer "to proceed judicially against those who will advance this calumny."

Calumny is kind of big word for some of us so I thought I'd provide both a definition and an example. Here's the definition:

NO ONE CAN GET ME - Archbishop Apuron

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Soon, there will be parade of these signs all around the island! Rome! Can you read?

WARNING

Msgr. David C. Quitugua has been appointed to the position of Rector of the Agana Cathedral. As per Canon 558*, as "rector" he is prohibited from performing the following functions:

1/ the administration of baptism;

2/ the administration of the sacrament of confirmation to those who are in danger of death, according to the norm of ⇒ can. 883, n. 3;

MAKE NO MISTAKE

Make no mistake. This is a rally in support of Msgr. James Benavente and a public protest against Archbishop Apuron. It is only because of the class and integrity of Msgr. James, the love he bears our church, and the respect he still has for the office of the bishop, despite his cruel and unjust treatment by the man who currently occupies that office, that it has been toned down to the level of a more general prayer service for the good of our church.

THE CANONICAL CASE FOR MONSIGNOR JAMES BENAVENTE, PASTOR.

Summary

  • The cathedral is both the episcopal seat of the diocese and a parish.
  • The Archbishop is the pastor of the diocese not the parish of Agana.
  • Msgr. James was assigned to the cathedral as its rector.
  • Canon law does not allow a rector to be assigned to a parish.
  • Therefore, Msgr. James is not the Cathedral's rector but its de facto pastor.
  • Msgr. James has all the canonical protections of a pastor.
  • The Archbishop's dismissal of Msgr. James, pastor, was in violation of canon law.
  • Msgr. James is still the de facto pastor of the Cathedral parish.

OKAY. PAY ATTENTION.

I SAID: PAY ATTENTION!

There's been a huge amount of stuff posted to this blog in the last 24 hours expressing your outrage over our lawless Archbishop, and a lot of it has been very well written.

You need to take those same statements and go to the stories that are in the media TODAY and post those same comments there. You need to light this island on fire and the press has given you a chance to do that TODAY, NOW!

ON THE VERY DAY...

On the very day Archbishop Apuron gives us his greatest example to date of how to be evil, violent, oppressive, a disservice to others, lawless, and an enemy of the common good by his ambush firing of Monsignor James Benavente, Pope Francis says:

MSGR. JAMES BENAVENTE REMOVED AS RECTOR OF CATHEDRAL BASILICA

Note: a letter from Msgr. James has been added to the bottom of this post.
At 9:17 PM tonight, KUAM posted a story about the removal of Msgr. James Benavente as rector of the Cathedral. He was also removed from all his other ministries and archdiocesan duties.

I just learned through another source that yesterday Archbishop Apuron had accused Msgr. James of financial mismanagement. Msgr. James asked for a list of the charges and asked for time to clear his name. The Archbishop agreed.

However, this morning, Msgr. David C. Quitugua, the Vicar General, and Fr. Adrian Cristobal, Chancellor, delivered a letter to Msgr. James removing him from his position as rector of the Cathedral and his other duties.

QUOTE OF THE YEAR

"No one can get me."  - Archbishop Anthony Sablan Apuron, Metropolitan Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Agana

Remember that.

And here's another one:

"I have no Filipino blood." -Apuron to a Filipino businessman who asked him if he spoke Tagalog. (He asked because Apuron is a Filipino name.)

ARCHBISHOP KREBS: INCLUDE IN YOUR REPORT TO ROME.

We know now, as per the Associated Press story today, that Archbishop Apuron was contacted by the Los Angeles Archdiocese about Fr. Wadeson in 2011:
In 2011, Wadeson asked the Los Angeles archdiocese for authorization to minister once more in Los Angeles because he was traveling in California. The archdiocese refused and contacted archdiocese officials in Guam after learning he was working there, said archdiocese attorney Michael Hennigan.
Unless the Los Angeles attorney is lying or the AP is making it up, we now have solid evidence that Archbishop Apuron was aware of Wadeson's issues at least by 2011 (even though he should have been made aware of them by Wadeson himself when he requested incardination in 2000 and certainly in 2004 when the Los Angeles report was published.)

ADD THE ASSOCIATED PRESS TO YOUR LIST

On July 25, Fr. John Wadeson wrote to the Guam Pacific Daily News:
Regarding the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, I was never incardinated there. On one occasion, when I asked to celebrate occasionally with a group of families, I was not granted faculties for a divergence with the then-Archbishop of Los Angeles, Cardinal Roger Mahoney. This decision had nothing to do with the defamatory accusation above-mentioned since the name of Cardinal Mahoney was recorded in the same list.
However, on the same day the Associate Press reported:

UNLESS AND UNTIL HIS HOME ARCHDIOCESE CONFIRMS THAT HE IS SUITABLE FOR MINISTRY

Statement Regarding Fr. John Wadeson:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(SAN FRANCISCO, JULY 25, 2014) As with all priests who hale from other dioceses, Fr. John Wadeson was granted permission to minister within the Archdiocese of San Francisco based upon assurances of good standing from his home diocese, in this case the Archdiocese of Agana in Guam.  On July 22, 2014, the Archdiocese of San Francisco became aware that the Archbishop of Agana, Archbishop Anthony Sablan Apuron, had removed Fr. Wadeson from ministry on July 21, 2014,  “in response to concerns in the community.”  Therefore, on July 22, 2014, Archbishop Cordileone informed Archbishop Apuron that in response to this information, Fr. Wadeson would not be allowed to undertake any ministry in the Archdiocese of San Francisco, unless and until his home Archdiocese confirms that he is suitable for ministry. The Archdiocese of San Francisco has informed Fr. Wadeson of that restriction as well, and Fr. Wadeson has willingly agreed to observe it.

We welcome and encourage anyone who may have any information concerning any possible wrongdoing by Fr. Wadeson to contact the Victim’s Assistance Office.

SNAP: CA- Will SF let twice-accused LA/Guam priest work?

Today, SNAP has released another statement about Fr. Wadeson This time it is directed at his activity as a priest in the Archdiocese of San Francisco.

The SNAP statement makes the following four points to which I will add comment:

"First, San Francisco Archbishop Cordileone should tell what he knows about these allegations and explain why Fr. Wadeson was apparently allowed to work as a priest here even though he was ousted elsewhere. Not one of his aides. Not one of his spokespersons. But the archbishop himself."

It appears Fr. Wadeson may have been active in the San Francisco diocese since the early 2000's. Archbishop Cordileone only came to San Francisco in 2012 and 1) may not be aware of Fr. Wadeson's presence or record, and 2) would not have been the bishop who gave Fr. Wadeson faculties to participate in active ministry in San Francisco if in fact he does have faculties. There is the added issue that Fr. Wadeson is NOT assigned to a parish but to a Neocatechumenal Center. And as we already know, the Neo's have their own hierarchy and bypass bishops and pastors at will. What we DO KNOW is that it is Archbishop Apuron who ASSIGNED Fr. Wadeson to the Neocatechumenal Center in San Francisco. Whether he did so with the permission of the then-archbishop is what we don't know. (See pg. 19 of the 2013 Directory for the Archdiocese of Agana).

THE MOANIN' LISA

Someone recommended that I send the stories on my blog to Dan Brown, author of several top selling books such as The DaVinci Code, Inferno, and Angels and Demons, and apparently, given his titles, a master at Catholic Church fiction.

The person who gave me the recommendation thought Brown might want to turn the goings-on in the Archdiocese of Agana into another bestseller and I could get a nice cut on the deal.

I thought about it awhile but then replied: "Nah. Our stuff is all true." Still...Hmmm. Imagine the movie rights. Any suggestions for a title?

WHO IS BLOCKLEY?

Some have seen the name of Fr. Matthew Blockley in the comments on this blog and recently in two PDN stories (here and here). You may be wondering who he is. Rest assured that he is not a name the Chancery Three expected or wanted to see. In fact, rest assured that the Chancery Three are probably hard at work discrediting him, and in fact may have already begun the Tagaytay treatment

If you google Fr. Blockley you will find stories like this one from 2008 essentially involving an all-points bulletin from Saipan Bishop Tomas Camacho to find and flush out Blockley who he considered to be AWOL from the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa.

The story made more or less national news because Fr. Blockley was staying with a priest friend who was also a well-known Fox News commentator, Msgr. James Lisante. Let's let Fr. Blockley tell you the part of the story that is not in the news:

WATCH THIS, WADESON.

Not only am I the only person publicly saying that the charges against you in L.A. are false - even as your Archbishop threw you under the bus and then ran for cover - I am going to hereby defend your right to our material support of you, despite your threat to sue us.

As you can see in the many recent comments, people are calling for you to be cut off from the land of the living financially. I am here to say that no matter how egregious your transgressions may or may not be, no matter what your status is relative to your faculties or "active ministry", as a priest incardinated in this archdiocese, you have the right the material support of your well-being: your stipend, your medical care, your food, clothing, and shelter and whatever else is normally required of a bishop for the material support of his priests.

UMMM, SO WHO WENT TO THE MEDIA??

Priest: Allegation was without foundation

A fine example of the "fruit" of the Neocatechumenal Way. Now watch!

Ousted priest leaves Guam

Father Wadeson says he doesn't want false accusations against him used against Apuron

http://www.guampdn.com/article/20140723/NEWS01/140723012/Ousted-priest-leaves-Guam?odyssey=mod|breaking|text|Frontpage

Really? Wadeson. Really? All the Archbishop had to do was simply present the evidence that you were properly vetted - as is required of any priest requesting incardination in any diocese in the world - and all of this would have gone away in an instant.

HERE, LET ME HELP.

PACIFIC DAILY NEWS, July 23, 2014: "The archdiocese was unable to answer when Wadeson was incardinated, or officially given authority, to be a priest on Guam."

Here, let me help you, archdiocese:

Most Rev. Anthony Sablan Apuron O.F.M., Cap.
Archbishop of Hagåtña

Hagåtña, Guam 96910

DO THE MATH

We broke through 500,000 page views during the afternoon of July 15. One week later, the counter shows 543,608 views. 6,229 average page views per day. That's 260 page views per hour. 4 page views per minute. 1 page view every 15 seconds. And they're not coming to see what I have to say. They are coming to see what "they" have to say.

JOHN, THIS IS FOR YOU.

A reporter called the seminary yesterday and this is what happened:
"I called the RMS in Yona and asked for Father Wadeson and I overheard the person who answered say John, this is for you. Seconds later, the person who answered said, sorry he's not here at the moment."
So they teach you to lie at Redemptoris Mater Seminary. Wadeson is a formator of seminarians. By definition he is their role model. But even the people who answer the phone LIE. Think about this next time you are asked to contribute to this place.

THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS...BUT FOR HOW LONG?

So let's take a look at the "Statement from the Archdiocese of Agana Regarding Fr. John Wadeson" (July 22, 2014):
In response to concerns in the community regarding Father John Wadeson serving in the Archdiocese of Agana, the Archbishop has decided to remove Father Wadeson from active and public ministry at this time.
I. "In response to concerns in the community". Obviously the Archbishop, as the chief shepherd, has no concerns himself. These are just "concerns in the community." This is an admission that the Archbishop would have never taken action on his own unless the "concerns in the community" had come to light, even though his own archdiocesan policy directs him to act, and even though, as he further states:
The Archdiocese of Agana has a policy regarding sexual misconduct and sexual harassment and takes these matters very seriously.

SHALL WE CALL IT PROVIDENCE?

The Wadeson story first broke on July 16, 2014, one year to the date of Archbishop Apuron's attack on Fr. Paul for "harboring" a man who was a "danger to children". An accusation that proved NOT to be true.

And now the local media's "attack" on Archbishop Apuron for "harboring" a man who is very possibly an actual "danger to children" breaks on July 22, 2014, one year to the date of the Archbishop's public attack on Fr. Paul. (See press release, July 22, 2013).

Maybe the Archbishop should start paying attention.

GREETINGS FROM CROATIA!

Dear Tim,

greetings from Croatia!
I am reading your site for a while and I found it very useful and honest. Thank you for the job you do in the service of the Church.
I can affirm to you that we have very similar problems with neos here in Croatia, although not with our archbishop. But, we can be sure that the truth will prevail.
I saw that you had quoted from the Catechetical Directory in your last post. Does it mean that you have a copy of it, an official version aproved by the Holy See. If you have, is it possible to mail it to me, since I could get so far only an unoffical version in italian from 1999? It would be very useful for me, so that I can show it to our priests here.
Thank you very much!
God bless!

P.s. If you want to publish this mail, feel free, but - please - without my name and surname. Thanks.

NOTE TO TONY DIAZ, EDITOR, U MATUNA

Dear Tony,

Your column in this weekend's U Matuna is well-written. I commend you for your courage in calling a spade a spade:
"One of the most obvious and most painful fractures that many of us have had to witness is the shattered relationship between our Shepherd on Guam and our clergy in the Archdiocese of Agana."
You went on to sound the trumpet of hope and called on the Archbishop and the clergy to build unity:
"So please, our beloved Archbishop, our dear brother priests, as the Apostolic Delegate and official representative of the Holy Father said during his recent visit to Guam: build unity, build bridges."

THIS IS ON YOU, ARCHBISHOP.

Sadly, Fr. Wadeson may be wrongly accused. I personally have always thought so. However, these were questions that were never answered. And now they are being asked. Let this be a lesson to all who work with and for Archbishop Apuron.

MONEY LAUNDERING AT RMS

Chuck White has left a new comment on your post "WE SHOULD BE CONTENT TO LET EVIL PEOPLE LIVE IN TH...":

Even if the Archbishop did his due diligence with respect to John Howard Wadeson (something far from certain), WHY WHY WHY is he a seminary formator??? Is there any Catholic seminary in the world where a man who has been stripped of his priestly faculties in a major archdiocese because of two credible accusations of sexual abuse of minors is given the responsibility for the spiritual formation and vocational discernment for seminarians in another archdiocese? Wow. It's not pharisaical to ask that question.

WE SHOULD BE CONTENT TO LET EVIL PEOPLE LIVE IN THE SAME HOUSE - A. APURON.

Excerpts from Archbishop Apuron's sermon today on the parable of the weeds and the wheat with my comments in red. (It appears that now that "weeds" have been discovered in the Apuron garden, we're instructed to shut up about it.)

Some Christians today are like overzealous servants who could not tolerate the evil deeds and the evil weeds. In their zeal to serve God they go on a crusade against what they perceive as evil with the intention of cleaning up the church, our island, the nation, and even the world. In the end they discover that they made a big mistake.

(No, Archbishop. We have no such lofty aims. We are just trying to stop you and your neocatechumenal masters from destroying more people like Fr. Paul. Simple. Oh, yes, and from endangering the "safety of children" by incardinating certain priests who have been kicked out of other dioceses for endangering the safety of children.)

WILL THEY TAGAYTAY BLOCKLEY?

Taal Volcano near Tagaytay
Some of you have seen the name of Fr. Matthew Blockley assigned to some of the comments and have asked who he is? Part of his history is easy to find out on the Internet. The other part is not.

You will soon hear about that other part. But meanwhile, be apprised that the Chancery Three will do everything they can to discredit him, including giving him the Tagaytay treatment...if they haven't started already. Oh, and remember, the Archbishop said "gossip is evil."

DON'T CALL ME, ARCHBISHOP.

In October of 2013, speaking about his getting rid of Fr. Paul Gofigan in front of thirty members of the clergy, Archbishop Apuron bragged:
"...even S.N.A.P. heard about this and applauded me for doing this on this priest and hope that I do not reinstate him because of that..."
S.N.A.P. stand for Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests. I was particularly angered when I heard about what Archbishop Apuron had said because in 2010, when SNAP was on Guam investigating the Archbishop, I was asked to publicly go on the offensive against SNAP in order to defend him. And so I did. I learned later that I had been lied to and that SNAP's visit had been a close call for the Archbishop.

His Eminence, Cardinal Tagle*, Archbishop of Manila, Philippines, will be the homilist today, Friday, July 18, 2014, at 4:00pm, on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the Presbyteral Ordination of Monsignor James L.G. Benavente, KHS, celebrated at the Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral-Basilica.

SPAGHETTI FOR EVERYONE AND GUAM IS THE PROBLEM

The minutes of the clergy meeting with Archbishop Krebs, Tuesday, July 15, 2014
"The people will know."
-Archbishop Martin Krebs, July 14, 2014, to the clergy of the Archdiocese of Agana.
(Extra commentary in red.)

Father Mike Crisostomo begins by reviewing the CARA Action plan. (Note: These plans were put in place as a result of the 2010 CARA study on the Archdiocese of Agana. They were shelved immediately after the facilitators left, just like the recommendations of Archbishop Krebs were shelved as soon as he left. The Archbishop has demonstrated time and again he has no interest in unity. And until now, he could keep that lack of interest hidden.)

The first recommendation of the plan is the creation of various boards to assist the Archbishop in decision making.

Fr Pablo Rodriguez (Rector of the Seminary) asks if we are like a corporation then? (Note. According to the Archbishop's reasons for not including the Seminary in the Archdiocesan financial reporting, the Seminary is a legal entity completely autonomous from the Archdiocese. One wonders then why the Seminary rector, or any member of the clergy at the seminary, an autonomous institution, should be included in a discussion that involves the governance of the Archdiocese? But then, we know why.)

GAG ORDER ON FR. MIKE

Fr. Mike Crisostomo has been told he is forbidden to post in JungleWatch. No. He didn't tell me. He didn't have to. We have eyes and ears everywhere. Like Archbishop Krebs said: "Of course, people will know. There's nothing secret in this world."

In case you didn't know, chancery, he was paraphrasing Luke 12:2:

There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.

JUNGLE SOUNDS

Jungle sounds are back up. Enjoy while you read. I personally find them relaxing. Speakers up :)

PAGE VIEWS

Close to 10,000 views yesterday. (The blogger chart has a different 24 period which doesn't show all the views in Guam's 24 hour period. But still, it's the highest number ever.)

DO THE RIGHT THING, ARCHBISHOP.

  1. It is true and correct to say that Fr. John Wadeson is innocent until proven guilty, but we are not putting Fr. John's innocence or guilt on trial. We are putting on trial the obligations of Fr. John to this archdiocese when he sought incardination and Archbishop Apuron's obligation to his faithful in Guam in addressing said application.

Fr. Wadeson had a clear obligation to disclose all material or significant information in his application to be incardinated here. As a priest, he knows that he was duty bound to disclose the alleged sexual molestations accusations against him from the archdiocese of Los Angles. He was duty bound to disclose the details of said accusations and the result of any investigation. He was duty bound to disclose his last place of incardination, and why he is not incardinated there anymore. He was duty bound to do all this under the eyes of God. He did not, as far as we know.

Archbishop Apuron had a clear obligation to ask the above questions. He was duty bound to discover if there was any kind of criminal or civil record on Fr. John. He was duty bound to take all steps necessary to investigate the background of Fr. John by seeking the references of his previous diocese of incardination. He was duty bound to disclose to his faithful in Guam the pending application of Fr. John's application. He was duty bound to consult his councils on the application of Fr. John. He was duty bound to do all this under the eyes of God. He did not, as far as we know.

These are clear violations of duty, moral and canonical, by both men, and the just consequence of such violations is equally clear as well: resignation by both men. For Fr. John, from being incardinated here, and for Archbishop Apuron, from being archbishop.

Do the right thing Fr. John and Archbishop Apuron, for the Catholic Church, Guam, and God.

THE ARCHBISHOP NEEDS TO CHANGE (OR WE NEED TO CHANGE THE ARCHBISHOP)

A Prayerful Priest responds to Anonymous' call to "let the clergy solve this problem" (in other words "lay people, stay out!)

" ... I pray for everyone that we should all let the clergy solve this problem. ... Remember that each priest share in the priesthood of the bishop."

Please remember that the clergy tried to solve this mess in 2011 when they hired CARA from Georgetown University to intensively study the Archdiocese. After months of individual and group interviews, assembling questionnaire data and analysis, the clergy met for three days to discuss as an entire group and CARA helped them come up with quite a long list of actions to move in the right direction.
It is was epic effort. But nothing ever happened after CARA left. Only the outcry from the laity has worked to bring this back onto the radar screen. If you stop now we will have no way to push the Archbishop to make the necessary changes.

While it is true that we share in the same priesthood as the Archbishop, we do not all share in his practices and values, and spirituality. It is the beauty of diversity many of us are fighting to retain. Clearly, the Archbishop needs to change, if he doesn't we will all continue to see our Church slowly erode.

TOO MUCH TO EXPECT...I GUESS

FR. JOHN WADESON: "I am told that details of our meeting with the Nuncio yesterday have been posted on a blog. I want to express my deep concern and hurt concerning this, especially since the Nuncio explicitly requested this not be done, and we gave our assent to this request."

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED:

ARCHBISHOP APURON: "I don’t want anybody going to the blogs or spreading the news again so that it’s all over the place. We need to start the healing within ourselves and not spread it out there so it becomes like wildfire and everybody interpreting and misinterpreting things."

ARCHBISHOP KREBS: "I would agree that that’s a good idea to be really reserved not to spread what is in here. Of course, people will know. There’s nothing secret in this world. But that we do not actively push to bring into our talks people who are not concerned."

THE TRUTH:

It was Archbishop Apuron who insisted on the gag order NOT Archbishop Krebs. And it's WE who misinterpret things? Right. How about telling us the truth to begin with? Or is that too much to expect from our spiritual leaders?

THREAT NOTED

I won't give you the pleasure of knowing who I am... I am not a coward... I just follow suit with everyone of your little timmies out there. Have fun going insane! your physical appearance says it all... Be very careful!
Live traffic counter notes that the threat came from:

Mangilao Village, Mangilao arrived from junglewatch.info on "JungleWatch: SIGNED: SICK OF IT".

12:06:46

These are the people on Apuron's side. The Kiko's. This is what I deal with regularly from them. This is the real fruit of the Neocatechumenal Way. This is who Archbishop Apuron is. Threats. Lies. Threats. Lies.

ARCHBISHOP KREBS.
DO YOU UNDERSTAND?

I DIDN'T PLAN IT THIS WAY, BUT...

The post about Fr. Wadeson was precipitated by his July 15 email condemning the release of information from the clergy meeting this past Monday with Archbishop Krebs. If not for that email, nothing here would have been said of Fr. Wadeson or his sex abuse record.

How coincidental (?) that Fr. Wadeson and his record, and by extension, Archbishop Apuron's harboring of a person with said record, be made known ONE YEAR LATER TO THE DAY (July 16) of Archbishop Apuron's accusation of Fr. Paul for harboring a person who was allegedly "a danger to children" - an accusation that has turned out to be grossly untrue, but could be VERY TRUE about Archbishop Apuron.

What better way of commemorating the "Gofigan Ambush" than for that ambush to ricochet right back to the chancery on the very date of the original ambush while we surge past a half million views. God is not sleeping.

NOTE TO MEDIA

Do not let the Archdiocese of Agana get rid of you by saying they don't respond to blogs:

Here is the public information that they need to respond to:

"The following clergy have no faculties to minister (no permission to exercise the priestly office) in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Please call the Parish Office and/or the Vicar for Clergy Office should they present themselves for any ministry here."

  • Rev. John Howard Wadeson Archdiocese of Agaña, Guam

SIGNED: SICK OF IT

DEFINITION OF TERMS: You/You clergy = those members of the clergy who object to our knowing what happened at your meeting. (Not all do.)

*****

So you demand our time, talent, and treasure, but you want us to shut the hell up when it comes to your "privileged conversations." What makes you think you would have even had an opportunity for a "privileged conversation" if we the people who are supposed to shut the hell up hadn't raised hell to begin with?

It was the laity who came to your rescue when you were being thrown in the trash. It was the laity who came forward with their "time (LOTS OF IT), talent, and treasure" to stop Apuron when none of you had the guts to because you might get the same treatment as Fr. Paul. It was the laity which banged on Rome's door when you hid in the corners and watched!

It is the laity who are being forced into being refugees from their own parishes. It is the laity who who are seeing the collapse of their years of work to hold their parishes up while you clergy come and go at our expense.

SO THEY'RE ALL IN A STIR

...over my posting about the meeting yesterday. Like it, like everything else, is supposed to be a secret. Whose Church is it anyway? Look for a major post tonight.

MOST EVER VIEWS

We've never broken 5000 views before, but yesterday...

And what is everybody looking at?

GEEZ!

"I am not violating any liturgical principles because the way the Neocatechumenal Way celebrates the liturgy has been approved by the popes from Paul VI all the way down to the present pope..."

- Archbishop Apuron to members of the clergy, Monday, July 14, 2014

"The Decree approving the celebrations listed in the 'Catechetical Directory of the Neocatechumenal Way' has just been read. They are not strictly speaking liturgical but are part of the itinerary of growth in faith...It is the task of the celebration in the small communities — regulated by the liturgical books that must be faithfully followed, with the details approved in the Statue of the Way..."

MEETING WITH NUNCIO: UPDATE

Archbishop Krebs is reported to have said that Rome cannot solve our problems, that we have to solve them ourselves. We know that. Rome normally does not intervene in internal diocesan problems. It depends on the bishop to resolve them. However, our bishop IS the problem. He knows this and he does not care. And before Archbishop Krebs leaves, he will know it too. Then we shall see.

POW! MAJOR UPDATE!

True to form, Archbishop Apuron tried to hijack the very important meeting with the clergy this afternoon with Archbishop Krebs. Instead of letting Archbishop Krebs speak, Apuron had Deacon Kim, the finance officer, go on for about 15 minutes about diocesan finances.

This very important meeting was only to last an hour, and already 15 precious minutes had been hijacked with financial report mumbo jumbo. WTH! But typical Apuron tactic.

Thank God for Msgr. David I.A. Quitugua for getting up and stopping Kim and reminding everyone in the room that they were there to hear from the Papal Nuncio. Msgr. David must have encouraged others to speak up and they did. In the presence of Archbishop Apuron the clergy demanded a private meeting with Archbishop Krebs with Apuron NOT IN THE ROOM.
