WHO CONTROLS THE SEMINARY?

Relative to this discussion, the following articles from the Redemptoris Mater Seminary documents of incorporation are:

ART. IV. The purpose of the Corporation shall be to establish and conduct a House of formation to prepare men for the priesthood...following the life and practice of the Neocatechumenal Way..."

ART. V. §2. The number of members of the Executive Committee shall not be less than six and will be elected among those who have knowledge of the Neocatechumenal Way upon presentation of the Pastoral Council, i.e. of the Board of Guarantors.

NOTE: The Board of Guarantors has complete control over the selection of the Executive Committee.

The Board of Guarantors are:
1) Archbishop Apuron,
2) Giuseppe Gennarini (3 Howard Place, Englewood, NJ 07631)
3) Claudia Gennarini (same)
4) Fr. Angelo Pochetti (6502 Jackson Str., West New York, NJ 07093

  1. Mr. Rohr, I understand that each seminarian must be approved by a team of people before they can be ordained. Can you find out the names of the people on that team? Are they from Guam? Si Yu'os Ma'ase.

    1. The local cathechist team Fr. Pius, Pat and I believe the seminarians cathechist from his home country must "scrutinized" the man before he can be ordained. This is an arduos experience and is done mostly by lay people. I'm not sure if this is done in other religious orders, but I thought this was very strange.

  4. Tim, I did some research on the names and interestingly, they are tied to other places. Claudia & Giuseppe are both the Treasurer for the Redemptoris Mater Seminary of the Archdiocese of Florida. Fr. Angelo Pochetti is also listed as the other Treasurer of the same diocese. Then, these same three names are part of the Domus Jerusalem, Inc. as Directors -- the treasurer for the Domus Jerusalem is Edward Condon who is married to Carmen Gennarini. -- the president of Domus Jerusalem, Inc is non other than Cardinal Sean P. O'Malley. I don't know what this all means, but in regards to the Seminary in Florida, listed as one of the treasurers is Sister Elizabeth Worley who also happens to be the CEO of the Diocese. How does a Father Angelo get to be treasurer in 2 separate states and 2 completely separate entities?

    3. There are Redemptoris Mater seminaries in Newark, Brooklyn, Denver, Washington D.C., Boston, Dallas, and Philadelphia too. I wonder what of a big color chart of the directors/guardians/treasurers of all of them would look like.

According to this article which can be found in the EWTN library archives, it states that Archbishop Apuron petitioned for the RMS to be opened on Guam. It further states that his petition was approved by the NCW initiators Tun Ko', Tan Mame' and Pale' P. (The three stooges).

Why didn't the Archbishop send his petition to Rome? Why do the THREE STOOGES have to approve the establishment of a seminary?

Let's face it folks, the reality is that the NCW cannot make any decisions without the approval or consent of the THREE STOOGES! SILENCE,DON'T QUESTION, LISTEN and OBEY!

    1. I do not know much about facts but doing a quick search I found the following in the Vatican Website:

Can. 242 §1. Each nation is to have a program of priestly formation which is to be established by the conference of bishops, attentive to the norms issued by the supreme authority of the Church, and which is to be approved by the Holy See. This program is to be adapted to new circumstances, also with the approval of the Holy See, and is to define the main principles of the instruction to be given in the seminary and general norms adapted to the pastoral needs of each region or province.

§2. All seminaries, both diocesan and interdiocesan, are to observe the norms of the program mentioned in §1.

Can. 243 In addition, each seminary is to have its own rule, approved by the diocesan bishop, or, if it is an interdiocesan seminary, by the bishops involved, which is to adapt the norms of the program of priestly formation to particular circumstances and especially to determine more precisely the points of discipline which pertain to the daily life of the students and the order of the entire seminary.

Which means that no matter who is deciding, controlling, ruling this seminary... EVERYTHING must pass by the Vatican and be approved. So why are people questioning the validity of this seminary? This group claims to have 120+ seminaries around the world; what makes anyone question the orthodoxy of this one? How does it differ from the other 119+? The only reason I may think is because somehow the Bishop is bypassing the 'boys-club' in terms of finance and this so called 'boys-club' would like to have their hand on that prime real estate and it doesn't sit well with them. As my father always says... follow the money and you find the devil.

    2. For the NCW, it really doesn't matter what the Vatican requires. We have already seen how they treat their Statute. They give lip service to the Vatican to get their rubber stamp and then they obey Kiko.

Again, in the end, what matters is the GOOD of the young men who are desirous of the priesthood. The question we all should be asking is WHAT IS BEST FOR THEM? There's a very easy answer, and Pope John Paul II has given it to us. Nothing less should be accepted.
