OUR ANGER IS DIRECTED AT YOU

Comment from "Anonymous Parishioners" responding to my being called a "hypocrite" in one of my posts:

6:11 and 8:45AM and to our Archbishop:  Even if we tried we couldn't be supremely hypocritical seeing as the hypocrisies, the divisions and the subtle fraudulence pulled on this Catholic congregation comes from the Diocesan HIGHER-UPS, the HIERARCHY of this Catholic Church on Guam.

No, I and the rest of the Faithful Parish Catholic members are not followers of Tim, nor of Chuck, nor of Fr. Gofigan -- though we are not surprised at the level of infliction coming from what we see of our archdiocesan hierarchy on this priest who has been more effective pastorally in his responsibilities as a parish priest in Dededo than have our leaders on the hill been to this Catholic congregation at the parish levels -- we’re simply followers of our Beloved Catholic Church on Guam!

We love our Catholic Faith, and like everyone else, we want to follow the THE TRUTH which we know is found only in this Church that Christ, Himself, instituted – not one concocted by a kiko or a carmen!

So, READ OUR POSTINGS which come FROM OUR LIPS on this forum.  We are not provided the opportunity for our voices and letters to the editor to be printed in the Umatuna – thus this free forum Tim provides for our minds, our hearts and our voices!  If not Tim’s blog, I’m sure another would have come along to provide us the medium to address what we’ve wanted to for years, but felt stifled!

… and we’re more than glad and find it more than sufficient that Tim recycles all the reasons and the documentation about why we won’t let go nor let you continue getting away with all that has happened and is happening.  The problem is you just continue to turn a deaf ear and don’t want to listen to us nor accept the reality about what is going on in this diocese; and then, you skirt the issues!

Get over your personal attacks and personal vendettas on a handful of individuals who only enable the many more of us whom you’ve neglected and then abandoned -- being that you are our spiritual leader, nurturer, and Shepherd for -- to finally speak of how we feel about having to continue enduring the hypocrisy, the deceit, the calculating shams and dishonesty that we see is causing so much scandal!

The saddest thing that we continue to observe (and neither Tim nor Chuck have to point this out to all of us from the parishes!) is this: Your seeing and knowing about this division; about the spiritual confusion we’re encountering because of the “tug of war” about what is correct or not; what is valid or not; with alterations and refashioning going on involving core Catholic teachings and liturgical norms and practices which the majority of us Catholics on Guam love, adhere to, observe, loyally follow and most of all believe to be true because it is what is taught in this One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church – observing all that, you haven’t initiated anything to demonstrate that you care! Isn’t the responsibility, the culpability on your door steps?

We’re angry, but our anger is directed at you, Archbishop, because the reality and truth is that the buck stops at your door but you ignore it and don’t give us the time of day to correct things, to heal divisions, to level with us and give us the Truth, nor do you show that you even care for this flock.
Seeing how you treat and have treated your priests and Fr. Gofigan and then your regard for the neo is the only example of how you lead this flock that we have to go by.  The gravity of this situation in our Catholic Church, your level of responsibility and spiritual culpability requires that you personally address this, head on, much much more than your simple and mere call for general forgiveness for yourself at one Mass.

  1. I agree, particularly on the fact that the Umatuna, the Catholic newspaper, does not allow Catholics to voice their opinions. It is controlled by the Chancery, who prefer to push their Neo stories and other benign issues. We can't talk to our pastors. The non-neo ones are afraid to raise any issues, and the neo ones are too blind in their obedience. Try writing the Chancery and the only response you get is: silence. Thus, we are left with this Blog.

  2. On this lazy Sunday evening I just read about this war our Catholic brothers fight against their own bishop. Hmmm. You know this is exactly what I mean. Thus is what you get when you follow human authority rather than the Bible. In our churches we do not give that much power to bishops, because the Bible never said you need an all powerful human to command and direct us in our worship. We follow the Bible. We hire our own pastor and we are proud of him.

But you Catholic always fall into your own trap. Your pastor was fired by the bishop and now as a retaliation you want to fire the bishop. Would not be much better if you would just opened up the Bible and put this all bitter fight into the authority of the only one who truly has, Jesus? Just curious.

    1. So on this lazy Sunday we once again hear from Christian Fellow who can't keep away from this blog - like so many others.

So, Christian fellow, my question to you would be WHAT WOULD JESUS DO? If Jesus saw his brothers in error would he post taunts on a blog behind a pseudonym? Or would he engage his fallen away brothers in person?

Let's engage. My number is 483-0467. Give me a call. We'll set up a meeting and I'll give you an opportunity to show me WHAT JESUS WOULD DO.

I have my phone right next to me. Go ahead. Give a call. Would love to meet you. Or have we met already?

    4. It's great that your proud of your pastor. He probably would discourage you from chastising others, but then again, why would he bite the hand that feed him.

    5. Because you, CFFY, have misrepresented, misinterpreted and mis-analyzed the issue between us Catholics, and with an obvious negative non-objective bias, I wouldn't entrust you with explaining the Bible to anyone!
You, ma'am or sir, unbeknownst to youself, just demonstrated why nobody should self-appoint themselves as the authority on the Bible. If you can't describe a situation without gross embellishment, false premise and faulty context, you certainly should leave the understanding of scriptures to the experts. And by experts, I mean the one Church who compiled the book you so desperately want to conform to your liking.
Which Church is that? I would say go ask your pastor, but he knows you pay him to tell you what you want to hear. His job security . . . hows that working out for your so called "truth?"

    7. Sorry, Christian Fellow from Yona, I will not let you dishonor other Bible Christians by posting your other comments that are nothing more than continued taunts from behind a pseudonym. This is very un-Christian of you. It's okay for the Catholics on this blog to do it because according to you we don't follow the bible. So we have an excuse. We are fallen, lost. But you do follow the bible, and yet we see you throwing stones at your brothers in need, and anonymously at that.

Would Jesus do that? Since you won't answer - nor will or have you answered any of the questions I have posed to you - I will answer it for you: NO. Jesus would do what he said to do in Matt 18:15 which instructs you to "go to your brother" when he offends or strays. I have given you the opportunity to demonstrate what a Bible Christian should do, to do what Jesus would do: to go to your brother.

Come on, call me: 483-0467. Let's talk. If I don't listen to you then you can shake the dust from your feet and move on. But at least you can fulfill the primary biblical prescript. Don't you think you should do this? Are you really a Bible Christian? Then do what Jesus would do. My phone is on. Bring your pastor if you like. I'd like to meet him too. He seems to be producing some interesting fruit.
