SICK!!

We have heard that the Chancery is saying they will terminate Catholic chaplain position at GMH because the Appeal did not provide enough money to fund the position.

Really? What a joke.

So now we're going to let people die at the hospital without access to the sacraments while Apuron flies around the world with his boys.

That's SICK! And I'm not referring to the patients in the hospital.

  1. Actually Tim, let him do so. My family and I have had no problems calling a priest to administer the sacraments to our loved ones be it that they were walking the way or not. On the other hand, our priest is in no way affiliated with the WAY.

Maybe this action will prove something. Will the Priest walking the WAY, LEAVE their community gatherings if called by their own parishioners to administer the sacraments or will they be shunned? Will these presbyters or any diocesan priests walking do their duty and put the needs of a parishioner first and foremost over the community. Will these presbyters find coverage or will they just let things pass? It would be interesting to see?

After all, Eddie Garcia, from the Parish of San Vicente told a non walking member that they couldn't use the chapel for funeral rosaries because the COMMUNITY COMES FIRST. Let us see where these presbyters' priority lie...is it the community or the parishioners.

I say, let the Chaplain at GMH be removed because of funding...and we will see what happens.

    1. Tim, Recommend you re-post ANON@4:05PM on a separate header to show how this NEO/NCW Cult continues to abuse the parish resources by denying NON-NEO members (who actually funded the building of that resource) from using it. I was in Guam when the chapel in the back of San Vicente was built (1988). This clearly is abusive as the intent of the chapel was for early morning mass and to accommodate the multiple rosaries for the parishioners.

    2. Unfortunately there are dying souls at GMH who may not have the connections you do to a priest. How said, that the bishop of this diocese is willing to abandon souls in their last agony - some whom may be desperate for a last confession.

My father, who recently passed away, stayed away from the church for nearly 30 years due to his anger with the church. But he knew what the eternal consequences were and two days before he died was visited by a priest. I can only hope that my father made his confession and was reconciled with God.

Apparently Apuron doesn't believe in any such need.

    3. Prayers for your fathers soul, Tim. I was hospitalized for 8 days. No chaplain ever came.

  2. It seems to me that if we only had to support our local boys in their vocations, we would have enough funding to go around.

  3. They should cut some chancery staff first - that would pay for a few hospital chaplains. I can think of four names right of the bat.

  4. The arch's problem-solving skills are dismal at best. No other solution than cut the chaplain's position at GMH? This is not the kind of leader we need or want. Those hospitalized will not go wanting for prayers and spiritual comfort if the chaplain's position is axed. I'm sure there will be volunteers to visit the sick and tend to their spiritual needs at GMH. The arch's tactics won't work. He keeps trying to bully and strong-arm us but we're not having it.

  5. Your only hurting your community when you stop giving money. There are other ways to approach this.

    1. The idea is to find other ways to support the church without it getting into Apuron's greased hands. But feel free to tell us about the other ways.

  6. I guess the trip was paid for by what was collected for the charities

  7. Apuron receives approximately $27,000 every year from the Navy for Fr. Tom McGrath's services as the Navy Chaplain. Given the normal stipend of $900 per month per priest, that's enough to support three chaplains. What do you do with the rest of the money, Archbishop? Incredible that you are willing to let people die without the last rites so you can fund your frolic with your toy boys.

  8. very disturbing. this isn't an optional service. to anoint the sick is one of the obligations and duties of the bishop as administered by his priests! and along with that, there's also the duty of the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.

for apuron to hold the hospital chaplaincy hostage is another outrage. another major line item in the list of reasons for us and rome to call for his resignation.

  9. If the RMS is the recipient of the majority of the funding of the AAA, then that is where the cuts should be made. Start with sending some of these seminarians to other RMS locations, or just send them home.

Then again we know that someone, unfortunately, other than our Archbishop is the authority who makes these decisions.

    1. only glanced at the Umatuna this morning, was it 26% being given to the RMS? If so, I thought only 10% was given and all other funding comes from elsewhere. Please clarify because I did not take the Umatuna home!

  10. Disturbing News that Guam Catholics could die in GMH without the Sacrament of the sick

The GMH chaplain is of far greater importance than pouring money into a seminary that produces half baked priest's who become problems for the archdiocese. Eg Luis camacho .

  11. archbishop is given a cut by the NCW for the use of the seminary on Guam. Personal income from RMS
