I’m not sure of the intent of your demand. But a few thoughts. The words “total abstinence from a life of love” is telling. The primary “life of love” for a priest is the Church. In persona Christi he “marries” the Bride. This is part of the package and he should not be a priest if he wasn’t willing to accept this from the start. It’s obvious that for him a “life of love” does not mean the priestly vocation of “love” for the Church, but for a particular human relationship. He is welcome to it, but he is not welcome to the priesthood at the same time, and for the same reason that I, as a sacramentally married man am NOT welcome to a “life of love” apart from the bride I am married to.
