Protesters Gather Outside as Cardinal Presides Over Mass at Cathedral
Written by Janela Carrera
Cardinal Paul Cordes is on Guam to teach some courses at the Redemptoris Mater Seminary in Yona.
Guam - A visiting cardinal presided over mass at the Dolce Numbre de Maria Cathedral Basilica on Saturday as dozens of other Catholics stood outside the church holding signs in protest. Continued.
NOTE:
It seems odd that a Cardinal of such rank, especially a former Vice President of the Pontifical Council of the Laity and a member of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples which oversees all of Guam, not just the Neocatechumenal Way, would have no presence amongst the majority of Guam's Catholics. The "Mass" if that is what it can be still called, may have been "open to the public," but the actuality of what occurred at said "Mass" would have automatically estranged any non-neo initiated Catholic.
If there ever was a sign that Apuron has not only chosen sides, but is now advancing a full-fledged assault on non-Neo Catholics, it was the presence of a major Vatican figure (albeit retired) whose presence was reserved only for the neocatechumenals.
P.S. If the news report is right and Cordes actually relayed a blanket endorsement of the NCW from Pope Francis, or even gave the impression of such, then he is culpable of misleading the Catholic faithful and fomenting further division in this archdiocese.
The Pope has encouraged the neocatechumenals to be faithful Catholics the same as he encourages us all. There is no specific endorsement of the neocatechumenals. In fact, the only specific "endorsement" Pope Francis has ever given was to the NCW "charter," as he called it when he demanded on April 3, 2014 that Kiko be faithful to it - since obviously Kiko was NOT.
In fact, Pope Francis went further two months earlier when on February 1, 2014 he addressed 12,000 neocatechumenals saying:
"It would be better to renounce to live in all its details what the itinerary of the Way would demand, in order to ensure unity among the brethren who form the one ecclesial community."
AND on March 18, 2016, the pope again hammered on the them of "unity" and demanded "respect for the whole ecclesial body." (Did you get that Apuron???? "Respect for the WHOLE ecclesial body!")
Dear Cardinal Cordes, those are WARNING SHOTS, not an "endorsement."
As per usual, the Cardinal sits there while the Kiko wanna be Generrini shouts at the neo victims. Just like the Pope sits there and and listens to the maniac! Kiko, that is.

ReplyDeleteWhere is Archbishop Apuron?
Is it true that Bro. Tony is in Qatar? Or, dropping Adrian off in Rome for Canon Law school? With him, the Vicar General and the Chancellor under the sheet, OJ is in charge and apparently enjoying himself tremendously.
