ANOTHER APURON

By Tim Rohr

During the Funeral Mass for Fr. Mike Crisostomo, Archbishop Jimenez interrupted the Mass at the Offertory, walked right past Fr. Mike's family in the front row of the Cathedral, and shook hands with Lou and Josh (Guam's governor and lieutenant governor).

There were many who thought his actions odd, if not disrespectful, given that this was a Funeral Mass for one of our own priests, and an occasion of much grief, not just for his family, but for all of us in the Archdiocese of Agana.

Many were willing to give Jimenez the benefit of the doubt for that actioin. Maybe he was just being friendly.  However, there were some who thought he was campaigning.

Apparently he was.

Seriously. Blessing an event is one thing, even though blessing a campaign rally is already stretching it. But walking the sidewalk? Joining in the wave? WHAT THE HELL?

Jimenez is showing us who we thought he was:

Another Apuron.

  1. Doesn’t our bishop realize we can’t vote him in office…OR OUT!
Why is he campaigning for Josh and Tina?
At every mass I go to I’m asked to pray for an end to abortion, euthanasia, and capital punishment. I wonder if the bishop asked them where they stood on these issues. And if on the wrong side of moral justice, why didn’t he ask them to public ally change their stance before he would bless the campaign HQ?
Terrible image for the Church, Archbishop Ryan. It’s time for you to start thinking of the people before thinking of yourself and your need for recognition from the rich, and the powerful.

    1. It appears he's been bought, and it was inexpensive.
