A prayer rally is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. today in Hagatna, in an effort to heal a division within the local Catholic community, according to one of the organizers.
The gathering will be held on the front steps of the Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral-Basilica in Hagatna and everyone, including Archbishop Anthony Apuron and people from other faiths, are invited.
Lou Klitzkie, one of the organizers, said the rally is part of the lay Catholics' efforts to try to heal the division in the local Catholic community. Over the past several months, many of the island's Catholics have been divided by a line in which one side supports the Neocatechumenal Way movement and those who want to keep the old traditions of the local Catholic church.
Klitzkie said she hopes the prayer rally will get the attention of the Vatican to help heal the rift.
One of the more recent controversies in the local Catholic church involve the recent arrest of a young priest, Luis Camacho, who was accused of "custodial interference" over a 17-year-old girl. Camacho has resigned from being pastor of the Malesso and San Dionisio parishes.
Klitzkie said the prayer rally will not mention Camacho, but will offer prayers for the overall healing of the Catholic community on Guam.

  1. Wonder if AAA will be at the Coast360 dinner tonite at the Sheraton. He was there last year. He drove himself in his black hyundai and was by himself, signed in like everyone else, didn't greet people around him, sat quietly and like no one had any conversation with him, said a prayer, ate his food, left...

    1. That's because he got used to people lining up to kiss his ring at whatever event he attended...not unlike the attention the pope receives. But alas, he has so badly tarnished his own reputation and that of his office, people go out of their way to avoid him. I'm sure he goes home seething. That's why he mostly only attends neo gatherings now...the only place he feels welcome. As it should be.

    2. Does anyone know if he attended and if anything happened?

  2. Thank you Lou for your clarification about the objectives of the Prayer Rally. And thank you also for extending an invitation to any and all to attend. And that means, Neos as well as Non-Neos. Clergy as well as Laity. Non-Catholics as well as Catholics. Everyone!

A prayer rally is praying together to God; not praying against each other. Pray for your own purposes, but PRAY! and LET US PRAY TOGETHER. Today's schedule is @4:30 p.m. in front of the Agana Cathedral. It will be a continuing event, so come as often as you can.

If you cannot make it to today's rally, then try for the next one.

  3. Though I am a true believer of prayer; the only way for reconciliation and unity is for His Excellency Archbishop Anthony Sablan Apuron to confess his alienating lies and cover-ups, restore Father Paul and Monsignor James to their rightful positions and to return full control of the property now being used as the NEO Seminary to the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church in Guam. Blood, sweat and tears where used to raise by $40M by the local families in Guam.... It was a sham to have 3/4 control given away to foreigners that don't live in Guam.....He also needs to apologize for his descriptive acts against the former financial counsel and restore them to their rightful positions...He must also direct the NEO Presbyters appointed as pastors to restore their parish counsels as required by canon laws. Leave not one stone unturned in order for healing and unity to exist.

    1. And that is why we can't expect him to do any of these or to do any of these soon.

  4. Agree. Healing follows forgiveness. Forgiveness follows sincerity. Sincerity follows rectification. Rectification follows apology. We still are nowhere nearing getting an apology, so we're a long long way from healing. Suggest we just pray for justice, and all that that implies.

  5. Apuron only feels welcome at Neo gatherings. In truth, he is only welcome until his Neo masters
have no more use for him. Once he is no longer of value, his Neo masters will unleash him and let him play in rush hour traffic in an area known for speeders. Apuron knows this is true. All he has to do is reflect on how he uses others.

    1. And no sooner than he revises the clause "to use in perpetuity," that he will know his true value for them.

    2. 12:27 so you THINK he will change the "for use in perpetuity"???? When? When hell freezes over? Lawsuit. The SOONER THE BETTER. Skin him alive.
