TOVES MAKES ACCUSATIONS PUBLIC IN THE MARIANAS VARIETY

Standing by allegations against the archbishop

I WRITE this for the reason of helping my people on the island of Guam to battle and overcome the destruction of our church and our traditions.

Archbishop Anthony S. Apuron, you must cease and desist as I will not. I invite your lawsuit happily. Do what you say as I do not fear you or Adrian Cristobal.

You are destroying our Mother's Church, Our Lady of Kamalen. Has your heart gone cold? Do you not love your flock anymore? With all that has transpired it is clear you are causing destruction to our island church and our Catholic traditions. You must be stopped.

timothy... toves publicized his allegations on junglewatch...unfortunately you did not know he was nuttier than a can of mix nuts... and in that MIX you continued to encourage him... to boost your Viewers numbers... that's why you have no credibility....

Tun Enrique, God Bless his soul was a faithful son of the Church and has given his life in her service. I was fortunate to have been an altar server during his ministry in the Agat Church. It appears that at the end of his life, he wished to reveal certain information that he has been keeping. God bless him for doing the right thing, God Bless his family also. I suppose that for any healing to begin in our church, we have to humble ourselves face the truth, and by the Grace of God endure and overcome.

  3. LOL. And who hired the attorney to shut up this can of "mixed nuts?"

  4. i'm assuming tun enrique is tan mae's late husband? the one who, according to tan mae herself, specifically asked that apuron not be allowed to say his funeral Mass?

although the older generations preferred to stay quiet, they knew good from evil and dealt with it a different way. the younger generations, like john toves, speak out more readily. but the older generations are starting to speak out as well. take courage and fight for your Church.

    1. Tun Enrique is Mae's father. He lived his life as a devout Catholic and dedicated family man. His exemplary service to the Church in Agat spanned the majority of his life, as he lived right across the old convento in Agat. He attended Mass daily and filled in if no altar server showed up. He was attentive to the needs of the priests and the parish, and he often took charge of preparing the church building and grounds for processions and fiesta. The priests and the nuns often turned to him for help as he lived nearby and was always happy to be of service. I believe Tun Enrique would have strongly resisted the Neo take over of the Agat church if he's still alive.

    2. thanks for the correction, anon 11:22. i appreciate it. tun enrique sounds to have been an exemplary member of the parish in agat. i hope his legacy will always be remembered.

i think every parish on guam has, or had, a very small number people who were dedicated to the parish like tun enrique was. i know that in tamuning, we had them. i hope the present and future generations will do the same.

  5. No, Tun Enrique is her dad. He was known as the sacristan for the Agat Church

  6. It is my understanding there have been other tun enrique.s . Men and women who went to the grave knowing the dark side of Father Apuron.

  7. I think Tun Enrique Reyes is Mae's father & not her husband. Just because someone finally came out and spoke about abuse w/priest doesn't mean their crazy. I remember an altar boy from Chalan Pago in the late 60's that was walking to school & came right out and walked into a car & got killed. Rumors was a priest was responsible. Did he tell anyone, most people from our island will just tell them to stop being an altar boy and keep quiet.
How many young girls had kids from a priest. If their families were rich them they were sent away to have their baby and pretend it never happen. We still see them walking around & under the control of AAA & etc. So sad - my father never wanted any of my brothers to become altar boys because of that reason.

  8. For those of you who think Toves is crazy, he really isn't. Spending most of your life away from Guam can have a profound effect on the kind of person you become. Even if you have parents who hold onto the ways of our Chamorro culture while living in the states, you'll spend much of your time with a whole mess of diverse new friends who don't interact the same exact way you did with your friends on Guam. Anyone who says he's crazy, is probably just not used to his approach on things. Call him weird if you like, but crazy no.

    ReplyDelete

    1. So you're saying Toves is the way he is because he left Guam??? That if he'd stayed here he would be different? How? He'd be less weird??? Give me a break. Tim Rohr, CCOG and Toves are leaves from the same tree.

    2. The only thing "weird" about John Toves is that he is saying out loud what people have been saying behind closed doors for years. In fact, it is so commonly known that I all I ever have to do is infer that I've heard of it and I either get a knowing smile or I end up hearing more of the story.

John Toves is certainly not crazy . Some would like to make out we are all crazy including me. I would say we have a visionary leadership and we know change is needed. It's all rather like Donald Trump. Some think he is crazy but in fact he Is not. Visionary leaders are creative leaders they are the best leaders for the times we live in. I have a great respect for John Toves.

  9. TOVES' allegations against Apuron are the same allegations many others have been mumbling about for years. He is not saying anything new. He's just saying them out loud.

Thanks, 3:18. I can understand people's discomfort with my approach. Activism elicits that feeling. Social change has always come about due to that discomfort. I do not do this for vanity. Trust me, I have made my mark here in SF. So, if you will, you can think of me as a natural New Yorker...say what you mean, do what you say. I am only calling out Apuron on what he has done. He must be stopped. So feel free, call me weird, nutcase, little worm, etc. The Hill needs to change.

  11. Look, they want to make this about John Toves. Don't let them. Keep the focus on Apuron and Adrian. The fact is that Apuron could have put Toves away with a simple "I didn't do it." But he hasn't said he "didn't do it." Keep the focus on that.

When I was his altar boy at Mount Carmel in Agat, I was only 10 years old and I knew he was dishonest. You never did feel he was present. He only lit up when he had a chance to perform.

Archbishop, I am reconnecting with ALL your altar boys. You will be exposed.

  12. Hi John Toves, this is the late Fr. Tony Perez. Keep up the great work! I've always believed in you! Keep telling the truth! You are almost there! Also, it may be a good idea to depose all former seminarians from Tai when I was rector, that way, the people will all know the truth! Love and prayers from heaven above, Fr. Tony

I don't know who is writing this, but it is in the spirit of Father Tony. He always said I was his best student. If he were alive, none of this would have happened. HE HAD CHECK-MATED Apuron LONG TIME AGO. That is why he was permitted so much liberty to study abroad and become the magnificent person that he was. If only he were here, he would put a stop to the Hill. Whoever you are, thank you for the memories. Your advice is good.

This is the best process for our church. We need to heal this divided communit by means of a civil legal process to bring this to an end.

    4. Fr. Tony Perez was a highly respected priest. Should he have lived he would have been the one to heal our island community. A compassionate wise intellectual gifted spiritual leader. Yes he had check mated bishop Apuron a long time before he died. I sense he had reason to become a Sulpician in order to leave Guam. Fr. Tony Perez very much aware of pains seminarians priests. Father Tony Perez prays with us from eternity.

    6. Hey John and Anon at 8.51......
Father Tony was indeed a great individual, and a great priest, called back to God way too early.
But God works in strange way.
John, you are right, Fr Tony would have stepped in to protect our Church. I would say he had the fiber to become a great Bishop.
      Unfortunately, we shall never know.
I believe he would wish for us to keep up the fight, to defend our Church. He probably watches over us with an understanding smile.
Father Tony if you hear us, protect your former students, help our Church get over this difficult and dark period, and use of any influence you have to help us.
Do not let us down in this period of need.

His excellency is not so excellent. I was told today he spent the weekend blasting me all over town. What we have now is an Archdiocese in total moral decay. A man whose very presence is now dividing entire families communities. This is the tragic reality of his leadership. He leaves a divided church and a divided nation.

  14. External police investigation into these sexual concerns only method to bring an end to the question of improper behavior. As a church we cannot continue working with this issue causing doubts in the mind of our island. if the Vatican will not assist we need a civil process to investigate the substance of all this. It Is only way we can heal archdiocese.

  15. Correct Anon @7.44, and this exactly why we need to financially support CCOG, so they can coordinate these efforts.

  16. Actually friends, what the legislature needs to do is to wipe out any and all forms of statute of limitations in order for these crimes to be civilly tried at any time. It is important to note too that in the event that this is taken to court the Catholic Archdiocese will try to settle terms or declare bankruptcy. These are their methods to "get away with anything and everything." What I suggest is that the Catholic Church gets taxed. This is the reason why they can talk about politics from the pulpit at anytime and we all need to be more offended with these actions, especially since the NCW is getting away with almost anything because there are no real checks and balances anymore!

  17. Well said 7.45pm. Chuch on Guam needs to be taxed. Very important to stop the abuses of Apuron.

  19. The apuron will be at Mass at FD tomorrow. I was told it is @ 8am. Maybe the parents of FD boys and friends of FD should attend so apuron does not make it an opportunity to blast our non-neo priests in front of an innocent audience. He is invited to a school to encourage students at the start of a new year of learning, not to advance his unsavory agenda of spreading rumors about people he should instead be taking care of. So sad we are simply going through motions to accommodate and tolerate his "excellency" to our "must-do" events. Nothing "excellent" about him in any way, shape or form! Ha! Ha!
