September 26, 2016

Earlier this year Joseph Santos made a promise to Doris Concepcion.

Santos, of the Silent No More organization, promised he would not take down his iconic truck sign until the law was changed on Guam that lifted the civil statute of limitations on child sex abuse cases.

On Friday the Governor signed Public Law 33-187, authored by Senator Frank F. Blas, Jr., that removes the statute of limitations. So tomorrow Santos will be joined by Senator Blas and Senator Frank B. Aguon, Jr. at the gravesite of Concepcion’s son where they will remove his sign as a promise fulfilled to the grieving mother.

The public is invited to attend. The event will be held at 11am tomorrow, Tuesday September 27, at Veteran’s Cemetery in Piti.

For more information, please contact the Office of Senator Frank F. Blas, Jr., at 475-2527 or via email at frank.blasjr@gmail.com.

Note: the press release says "tomorrow" because it was released yesterday. The event is today.

  1. Perhaps, in the future, we can specify the day and date of such events. Instead of saying today or tomorrow, we should say, for example, Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016.

    1. Pls send your recommendation to the senator's office.

    2. I believe the release says : "attend. The event will be held at 11am tomorrow, Tuesday September 27, at Veteran’s Cemetery in Piti."

  2. Good news Joe! With the sign gone, and they will now fit in your truck, is it possible to swing by my home and remove the appliances in my back patio?
Seriously, the island owes you great appreciation for your strong stance against child sex abuse.
Can you add a new sign to your truck -
"When will Fr Camacho and other abusers be brought to justice?"
But don't put it up until after you swing by my house for some white trash.
Joe Santos - an American hero!

  3. A very sentimental gesture. Now that the iconic sign, SILENT NO MORE is going into retirement how about a replacement sign, HON NO MORE!! Every satellite in outer space will be able to pick it up so all the "vaticons" will be able to see how much we think of HON!
HON TAi BALI ( not useful) HON Tai HINASU (not thinking) HON TAI RESPETU(no respect) HON TAI MAMAHLAO (no shame)!!!

  4. I am only seeing this now I would loved to have been there. Joe Santos, Senator Frank Blas Jr. and Senator Frank Aguon Jr. My sincerest thanks to all of you. This bill and Silent No More movement & statement have really been one to the best things to happen on Guam. Thank You. And thank you for the beautiful gesture of respect love and support at the gravesite of Doris Concepcion’s son at the Veterans cemetery. A Beautiful Tribute indeed. Her son maybe gone but his spirit is eternal.

  5. Joe Santos,Senator Frank Blas Jr and Senator Frank Aguon Jr, I want to extend my Sincerest gratitude for the beautiful gesture of love, and support for being at my son's graveside as promise to take down the sign honoring him when the Bill becomes Law...
