This victim of pedophile Brouillard is suing for $10 milllion! Twice as much as each of the other 32 claimants. Will they raise their demands to match his?
US abuse victims got what they asked for. Like $3 billion in settlements! Lujan's clients will win millions each if they testify.
A load of credible US cases is still pending, notably in Los Angeles and bankrupt St. Paul-Minneapolis. With the same Superlawyers working for those victims, they'll get what they ask for too.
I'll be happy if the clergy sex abuse victims get what they sue for. It may sound exorbitant, but ask yourself, what would you be willing to settle for if YOU were the one abused.
It's not exorbitant Anon 7:27 a.m. No amount of money can stop the lifelong PTSD hell those abuse victims suffer, but it can pay for good psychotherapists who will ease their incurable pain.
I think some of these poor victims were conditioned by abusive homes as children. They didn't seem to have any self-defense instincts or mechanisms against the priests and religious who assaulted them. A normal child would have kicked the shit out of them and run screaming for help.

ReplyDeleteYou can sue for any amount you like. That doesn't mean you'll get it.
