As far as I know, this is the first public disciplining of a layperson by a bishop in our diocese. I've redacted the person's name so as not to cause him/her any more grief. Jimenez's letter to this poor layperson reminded me of Apuron's public trashing of Fr. Paul and Msgr. Benavente back in the day. But this is an attack on a layperson.
Jimenez calls for charity. Really? Charity would have been to keep whatever the issue is between him and the layperson.
Can you ever imagine Jimenez writing a similar letter to one of the Neocat elite in this diocese, who routinely flaunt his authority?
No. Because he's afraid of them.
