CONCERNED GUAM CATHOLIC NAILS IT

Original comment here.

I disagree with what you envision. This is not a win-win situation; in fact we, non-neos, were duped and deceived! The deception was planned, delivered and carried out by our archbishop who publicly claimed that here was a land and property acquisition which would be used as a seminary for the formation of priestly vocations for the Catholic Diocese of Guam. We were LED TO BELIEVE that this local seminary would not only boost vocations, but encourage local sons to the priestly vocation -- NOT SO! So far it has BENEFITTED FOREIGN NEO CANDIDATES and TURNED AWAY LOCAL SONS, informing our local sons that: this seminary is open ONLY TO THOSE WHO AGREE TO BE FORMED IN THE NEO WAY!

As though that level of discrimination and abandonment was not enough of a blow to our Guam son, THE ARCHBISHOP, HIMSELF ADDS SALT TO THE WOUND AND ALSO REFUSES TO GIVE THIS YOUNG MAN A LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION so that our Guam son could attend another seminary off-island! Mind you, this young man was even willing to assume the expense of an off-island seminarian formation since he was denied entrance in the neo seminary -- alleviating our Diocese the expense subsidizing a local son in another seminary off-island! You call that a win-win situation?

You are missing the point of the issue emphasized in this blog. Guam is a melting pot and mecca for all who see the beauty of our island and choose to make Guam their home residence. Guam doors are still wide open and have been for decades – where have you been? That’s not the issue! Do you not see the problem here to be the fact that the neos have CLOSED THEIR DOORS TO OUR LOCAL YOUNG MEN NOT IN THE NEO WAY? … which also (contrary to what archbishop and the neos say in their false marketing of this seminary) closes the door to those “neighboring islands, Fiji and Tonga as you envision, simply because unless you are a neo, you are not welcomed!

And the neos are the foreigners in our island, setting up their entrepreneurial big business under the guise of “evangelization” mind you, yet they close the doors to Guam’s young Faithful Catholic men!

  1. Not pertaining to the comment above. Somewhere in this blog, the name Bugnini came up as the actual pusher of the NCW and the liturgy. So I decided to do a little reading up on him. Interestingly one article states that he made deals with the Masons. How true this is I do not know. Can someone elaborate on this?

    1. Bugnini is a real mystery man. Ignoring all the "rad trad" stuff against him, he still ends up a very questionable character. After being Paul VI's right hand man in creating the new liturgy, Pope Pablo essentially exiles him to Iran where he ends his days. It is interesting that the current pope is skipping over Paul VI and making the two popes either side of him saints.

    2. If you can get a hold of the book: "Liturgical Time Bombs in the Vatican II, The destruction of Catholic Faith through changes in Catholic Worship" you will fall off your seat reading about how this Archbishop Annibale Bugnini was not only "the chief architect of the New Rite of Mass which was composed after Vatican Council II --1962-1965--and imposed upon the Church in 1969", but Pope Paul VI in 1975 removed Bugnini from his powerful position of Secetary of the Congregation for Divine Worship; dissolved this Congregation and exiled Bugnini to Iran! Pope Paul VI believed Bugnini to be a Freemason member. Bugnini, himself said this about his successful hand in the liiturgical reforms: "a major conquest of the Catholic Church" ! Isn't that what kiko is setting out to do, as well? And our archbishop is doing everything he could to help kiko do this!!

    3. Anon 11:46AM...Yup, just one of many, this book is an excellent read and insight of just how messed up things got after they implemented not just the creative Ordinary Form but also all the 'Protestant' practices as you can still see in today's mass. If you were to go to a Protestant worship service I think you'll see it's not much difference to ours today. This brain washing basically led most Catholics today to be blind and not recognise our Lord when receiving the Holy Eucharist.

    4. Tim, recent news on Pope Pablo came out in December 2013. It isn't necessarily that Pope Paul VI is being "skipped over" but that miracles needed to be attributed and approved:

    5. True, but the fact is that his "cause" was not advanced as enthusiastically as the other two popes. He was "neglected". There was a reason for this lack of enthusiasm. He may have been a saintly man, but he was a very weak leader, but the church doesn't canonize saints based on leadership, but on saintliness.

Of course, more curious is the reasons for the enthusiasm for John 23. He was only pope for about 3 years. He didn't have much time to do anything. In fact his only accomplishment was calling the Council and the construction of the schema for the Council, the schema which the bishops threw out on the first day of the Council. So in fact, the designs and desires of John 23 had nothing to do with the actual substance of the Council for which he has been memorialized, and probably canonized. 2. I could not agree more and sympathize with the Catholics on Guam for the apparent betrayal of trust by their own "shepherd's" deceptive maneuvers. I am a priest working in one of the dioceses in the US. I, myself, was a victim of this neo-catechumenal false religion that foments a wedge in the Church. What they have done to my parish for the past decades was truly horrendous. They have caused polarization and discrimination against non members. One problem they cause is their status that is frowned upon by priests and canonists. While they are a movement that openly claim to be a "charism" in the church, they want every priest, bishop and parishioner to kowtow to their ambivalent identity. Problems ranging from liturgical abuses to finances and a host of many others cannot simply be solved because of their refusal to obey diocesan policies. They identify as regular parishioners and that their program is evangelization; they refuse to be branded as a movement or a lay association as a clever ploy to work under the radar and be branded by any category apart from an evangelizing community. I wouldn't be a least bit surprised that if given more clout or increased support from church officials they would commence on a path of INQUISITION against those who do not wish to take part in their CULT. I am sad and my heart goes out to the Catholics of Guam that this persecution is happening. Making the matter worse is Archbishop Apuron's impunity. He doesn't deserve to be a bishop any more than he deserves to be a pastor of souls. He is an insult to Catholicism and a shame for the church.

  3. The Archbishop needs to be sued and take account of his deception. The seminary on Guam-- as he had initially promised to gather funds and legitimacy--was built with the idea of forming local priests to serve the local church of Guam. It turns out, as correctly stated above, that it was a ploy. The Archbishop doesn't care about formation of future Catholic priests in the diocese. He cares about the Neo-Catechumenal priesthood!!!! What a farce. If I were on Guam I would definitely organize and link arms with the silent majority of the Catholics who are now being marginalized to demand his resignation. More voice, more noise are needed to be heard. Start by organizing and a signature campaign calling for his prosecution in an ecclesiastical court and civil courts. Make him pay his donors back. After all what he did about the seminary is a violation of Canon Law's "Ad Dantis Intentionem" that rules on the honoring the intention of the donors. People have supported his cause to build a seminary for future Catholic priests serving the archdiocese and not the neo-catechumenal cult. More power and prayers to all those who persevere in this fight.
