THE NEOCATECHUMENATE REACT QUITE VIOLENTLY WHEN SOMEONE CRITICIZES THE WAY

The above is a quote from THE PSYCHOLOGICAL MECHANISMS OF MENTAL CONDITIONING INSIDE THE NEOCATECHUMENATE COMMUNITY

Here are a few other excerpts. Read the whole thing.

"But one of the most serious things is the control over a person's emotions through the use of guilt and fear. In the first catechesis, they talk about the baptismal pool which one most submerge into in order to look at one's sins in the face. One catechist has said, "you must go down into the sewers in order to rise up again with Christ". Another catechist said, "the community begins to grow when you begin to argue with each other and hurl all the putridity you have inside out of you." All of this is very different from what the Church teaches about conversion ("metanoia"). The Church reminds us above all that we are saved by the love of God and that he makes us feel the joy of his mercy even in the midst of our miseries."

"The members of the community become inculcated that they are part of a privileged elite in the church; they are destined to bring salvation to the people they work with, to their families, or even in missionary work abroad which we see in the case of "itinerant catechists". As is written elsewhere, the people often hear the catechists' typical phrases, "The Lord has chosen you and has invited you and no one else". This and other similar phrases let the people believe that they have been "specially elected". This unconsciously satisfies their own frustrated sense of self."

"Whoever has been accustomed to this manner for years finds it incredibly difficult to separate one's relationship with God from this style and to live one's faith, still in the Church, but in a whole other way! It creates a psychological dependence that makes the person end up controlling others and demonizing everybody, too, including bishops and presbyters, who doesn't share the Way with them. One catechist once said, "It's good that we have bishops and priests who don't believe because this strengthens us in our journey; it's a sign that we are on the right path."

Pope Confirms Kiko For Five More Years

According to news report on February, 2014, Pope Francis confirmed Kiko Arguello as Consultor for the Pontifical Council for the Laity for five more years. It is also interesting to note that in 2005, Kiko participated in the Synod of the Eucharist. Considering that he has participated in this synod shows that Kiko is in communion with the Catholic Church. According to the news report:

Pope Francis has confirmed the initiator and leader of the international lay movement the Neocatechumenal Way, as a consultor for the Pontifical Council for the Laity.

Kiko Argüello will serve for a five-year term. This confirmation is in addition to his nomination in 2011 as consultor of the Pontifical Council for the New Evangelization.

The international leader of the Neocatechumenal Way has belonged to the laity council since his appointment in 1993 by Blessed John Paul II, a nomination that continued for the rest of that pontificate and later on, under Benedict XVI.

Argüello has participated as an Auditor in various Synods in the past several years, the most recent being the Synod on the Eucharist (2005), the Synod on “the Word of God in the life and mission of the Church” (2008) and the Synod on “The New Evangelization for the transmission of the Christian faith” in 2012.

On February 1, Pope Francis received 10,000 people from the Neocatechumenal Way in audience at Paul VI Hall. Due to lack of time, the Holy Father was only able to send out 12 of the 40 new "missio ad gentes" teams destined for Asia. Two weeks later, on February 14th, the Holy Father received Argüello, along with Carmen Hernández and Fr. Mario Pezzi, and the presbyters responsible for the other 28 missio ad gentes who will be working in the evangelization of Europe and the United States.

  4. Thank you, "Gino," for entering on cue and demonstrating that membership in the NCW "… creates a psychological dependence that makes the person end up … demonizing everybody … who doesn't share the Way with them." We can always count on you and your violent/vile reaction whenever even the slightest hint of criticism about the NCW is articulated via this blog.

Just waiting to hear from "Old Man from Santa Rita" to chime in. Since Zoltan has allegedly departed from The Jungle, he may resort to posting a comment as "Anonymous," complete with his iconic ";)" to close his comment.

  5. Psychologicaly,Gino demonstrate a stereotypical lack of reconciling his teenager sexual phobias, mixed with unfullfilled fantaisies, that are surging back to the surface under the guise of a pseudo disciplined life of contrition. This of course is not manageable for long periods of time and usually leads to violent outburst of abusive language and/or possible physical extreme reactions that can be harmful to the subject himself or persons near him.
Lets pray for the soothing of Gino's soul.
