It would appear that this is also one lesson the Archbishop has taken to heart. He will obey Kiko and Pius no matter what they ask him to do. This is truly a sad era for our Archdiocese. To think that we are getting ready to celebrate 70 years of freedom from Japanese occupation, but now we have another type of occupation on our shores.
When will we get to celebrate VK Day? (Victory over Kiko Day). I celebrated my personal VK 2.4 years ago! Praise be to God for that.

ReplyDeleteA Neo-friend of mine told me confidentially (for fear of recrimination) that the “Hail Mary” prayer to the Blessed Mother is never said at any Neo activity or prayer service. And by extension, the Rosary is not any part of their prayer service. Is that true? If so, WHY NOT? Perhaps a Neo could respond, or a non-Neo who knows might want to share his/her knowledge. If the answer is “it is not recited/prayed by Neos”, please provide some solid basis for the answer.

I can quite understand why our non-Catholic brethren do not, because Mariology (Immaculate Conception, Virgin Birth, the Assumption of Mary, the special veneration given to her, her special intercessory role as Mother of God, her messages at Lourdes, Fatima, and other places; etc.) is not part of their beliefs. The Neos, on the other hand, claim to be not just Catholics, but the “fullness of Catholicism” as Archbishop Apuron had described and defended that definition/description in one of his radio interviews. So, if they (Neos) are the “cream of the crop” among Catholics (as they claim to be), why do they not honor Mary as the rest of us “normal” Catholics do? Is it a sin to do so? Is it wrong to do so? Is it blasphemous to do so? Do Neos believe (like the rest of us “normal Catholics” do) in Santa Marian Kamalin, the Patroness of our island, and after whom we have named our cathedral: Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral in Hagatna? Do they attend the December 8 procession every year, but not say the rosary? Do they have a song/hymn to the Blessed Virgin Mary like every Catholic man, woman, or child who is non-Neo can sing “Abe Nanan Yu’os” to honor Mary?
