JUST TRYING TO BE HELPFUL

Posted by Chuck White

Dear Archbishop Hon,

I'm sure you were as shocked as I was to hear Mr. Leo Tudela's story the other day about being molested by a priest and a religious brother.  Just in case your team is still trying to find out more about the "Brother Mariano" mentioned by Leo in his testimony and in the Pacific Daily News the other day, I thought that I'd share with you some stuff I obtained from the National Archives via Ancestry.com.  Just a few clicks away, actually.

The first record is Mariano R. Laniyo's Social Security death record, and the next two records are Authorizations for Inter-Island travel, which seem to have been necessary back in the days of the Naval Government.

Here you go:

Mariano R. Laniyo
  • Born September 25, 1927
  • Residence: Chalan Kanoa, Saipan
  • Arrived in Guam on or about May 9, 1950 on "Miss Guam", a commercial boat, declaring his mother, Asuncion R. Laniyo as his next of kin (in case he was lost at sea, I guess).
  • Arrived in Guam again on or about August 16, 1951 on "M. V. Dean Bros", a commercial boat, claiming the Bishop of Guam as "next of kin", probably because he was already in religious life, or was about to enter religious life. Bishop Apollinaris Baumgartner OFM Cap. was the Apostolic Vicar of Guam at that time.
  • Mr. Laniyo was approximately 27 or 28 years of age at the time of the incident described by Leo Tudela.
  • Died June 1, 1994

Thank you Chuck White. You have proven how easy it is to get information in this day and age, when getting information is the goal.

I dare say that Hon would mope about the unknown Brother Mariano hoping we would soon forget all about it.

The Chancery has been running in "dumb mode" for so long it is no longer capable of actual thought or common sense.

My hope is that Hon will actually hire someone because they can think, rather than someone because they wear a white collar.

Hon - do you get the message?

  2. Amazing that this archdiocese has a spot on team to handle any sexual abuse cases. Lol. No wonder why it's taking Mr. Archbishop Hon so long to find Mr. Tudela. If it weren't for the Internet or ancestry.com these days then maybe the this predator might never have been found. I'm sure this archdiocese has records. Oh but wait, brother tony closed down the museum the same day it was opened. Tooooooo much history that can't be released to the people of Guam.

It's amazing how Junglewatch became a flock of lemmings. Lemmings are the animals that go crazy when the season is coming. When they reach the critical point of craziness, lemmings climb a highland and start to run in large flocks toward the ocean. Now, highlands usually end in deep ravines and great abyss near the beach where the rocks break. Our flock of crazy lemmings would not care about the rocks and ravines just running and running without ever stopping to think. So all of them end up falling into the deep breaking their necks on the rock bottom of the abyss. They die by the thousands and have no way to return. That is why lemmings are considered the suicidal race of the animal kingdom.

Is this not amazing? For the lemmings of Junglewatch the calling of monetary gain is like the calling of the ocean. Limitless amount of dollar bills wave in front of their eyes, like the waves of the ocean. They cannot resist this calling. So they flock together and run. Run to picket, run to protest, run to file lawsuits against anyone whom they dislike.

You know that this flock of jungle lemmings is just as sick and suicidal as the lemmings of the highland. You know it because they go against courage, honesty and stature. You know they are suicidal, because they go against the appointed administrator sent by the pope. You know they want to be crushed in the rock bottom of the abyss, because they don't have honor, respect and integrity. I wish I could stop them by telling, hey crazy lemmings, get to your senses and turn back right now because the edge of the rock is approaching! Ya'll all down to the deep and will be annihilated! Stop in the name of Christ!

But they do not listen to me. They just run and run without ever stopping to think. I am left nothing to do but pray. What else could I do for them?
