MARRIED TO CHRIST

Posted by Tim

In the post below, Rose de los Reyes has shared more about this brutal truth which takes the clergy sex abuse crisis to a whole different level: the fathering of children and then their abandonment - with the help of the church which you and I support.

Immoral and corrupt clergy are as old as Judas himself, and as a percentage of the population, there are probably no more of these bad guys than are in the rest of our society, in fact, perhaps even less. And certainly there are good and saintly clergy. Much more. Many more.

It is time though to turn our sights on a different sort of abuse. And from Rose's comments, I believe the book she references gets into it: a certain cult of acceptance, not only for the fathering of children, but more generally, for the sexual dalliances of the ordained.

In fact, it is more than a cult of acceptance. It is a cult of purposeful flirtation, seduction, and even competition among women to "score" a priest, or at least a seminarian.

I'm going to stop here because I'm angry. I have seen it...and it sickens me. It sickens me as much or more as when I see a pathetic, aging male trying to pick up on another man's wife. In fact, it is much worse. For the target of these women's diseased affections is MARRIED TO CHRIST.

  1. Bad Filipino priests have been dumped into California for over 30 years. Our parish got an active pedophile who drove around with piles of cheap teddy bears in his car to use as bait. The Pastor went into a justifiable blind rage and quickly dumped him back on the closet queen-bishop. The perverse priest disappeared.

One of the most brutal Los Angeles cases was nicknamed "Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs". Seven native Filipino priests raped and impregnated a Filipino Rectory housekeeper's 16-year-old daughter. She kept her baby.

All 7 of the priest-rapists escaped from the US unpunished, enabled by evil Cardinal Roger Mahony who blocked all attempts at restitution. The victim finally received a lousy $500,000 settlement from the Archdiocese when she was well into adulthood and had understandably left the Church.

We've had our share of native Filipino womanizers and homosexual pedophiles here too. Lax bishops enable their escape to the Philippines unpunished every time they're caught. Bishops in the PI don't punish them either.

In general, Filipino priests here tend to be racists who only like their own extremely clannish and clericalist people. They don't interact well with Americans, and vice-versa.

  2. I stopped attending St. Anthony's Church here on Guam due to the clannish Filipino priests and people there. I attended St. Anthony's for 9 years and never felt welcome. A priest recently asked me, "What would help you feel welcome at St. Anthony's?" I joked bitterly, "Make me Filipino."

  3. In mid-2015, the State of Oregon also had a horrible case involving a native Filipino priest, Fr. Israel Bien. The fake orthodox Archbishop of Portland is squarely responsible for allowing the pervert to escape unpunished. He's back in the Philippines with his family, explicitly refusing to return to the U.S. and face an Oregon arrest warrant.

A 15-year-old male parishoner where this homosexual was Pastor found a small spy camera attached to a rest room toilet at the church. He advised his father who contacted the freak. The camera suddenly disappeared and so did the priest, a young man in his 30's who was Ordained in the US.

The enabling Archbishop of Portland Oregon won't put any pressure on PI bishops to extradite the pervert, so another one got away free to re-offend and his US Archbishop can conveniently close the case. He couldn't care less how traumatized the betrayed parishoners are. The filthy priest's clerical status remains unknown. Nothing has been said about him being laicized.

    1. You can read the story here. Now does HIS brother know where he is or is He keeping quiet.

    2. Bien's brother knows where he is because his family hid him when he fled the US. The enabling Oregon archbishop knows where he is as well.

The laicization article cited is dated September 2016. Bien fled the US in July 2015. What took so long to get the process going and why isn't the Oregon archbishop trying to have him extradited and prosecuted on the US arrest warrant?! He's a dangerous predator who should be registered as a sex offender.

  4. Extradition is done by civil prosecutorial authorities, not by an employer or victim.

    1. I know that. The issue is that the spineless Oregon Archbishop didn't do anything to help authorities capture Bien and have him returned to the US for prosecution. He just sat there playing shocked and let the pervert's scofflaw family hide him, assisted by complicit Philippine bishops.

He knew where Bien was and in view of the Oregon arrest warrant, he enabled all of them to intentionally break the law by hiding a known fugitive. Wherever Bien is now, he's just Vatican paperwork waiting to be rubber-stamped so the rotten Archbishop of Portland can happily deny his existence.

No justice for the victims. If the church toilet videotapes are still intact, innocent parishoners' faces might be seen on them, children included. Worse yet, Bien is on the loose in a lawless third world country and free to re-offend.

As filthy and devious as Bien is, there's no way his US seminary didn't know that he's a predatory homosexual. The freak never should have been ordained. The bishop who ordained him is guilty as well.

    2. Apparently you do not know as much as you think you do.

I was an Assistant U.S. Attorney for 6-1/2 years and my cases included international extradition.

There is little or nothing an archbishop, employer, or victim can “do . . . to help authorities capture [a perpetrator] and have him returned to the US for prosecution.”

I understand your righteous anger, but you are blaming the wrong party.

In most cases when Philippine citizens are not extradited, it is because the Republic of the Philippines declines to do so. The reasons range from legal, political, lack of resources, to corruption.

Since an Oregon arrest warrant was obtained, the local prosecutor would be responsible for working with the USDOJ Criminal Division, Office of International Affairs.

If you have personal knowledge that the archbishop withheld information about the perpetrator’s whereabouts, you should inform the local prosecutor.

Otherwise, you are indulging in misinformed and uncharitable finger-pointing.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.

    3. CNMI Lawyer, I don't care if you're Clarence Darrow reincarnated. You don't live in the Archdiocese of Portland and you don't know the details of this case.

The Archbishop knew that Bien lied about contacting the police about the toilet camera and he gave him time to escape. He also knew that Bien's family was hiding him because he said so. All he had to do was give authorities their PI addresses. If he did, it wasn't until the pervert went on the lam again. There has been no official communication with Bien's former parishoners on the status of his pending laicization.

    4. Dear CNMI Lawyer, not sure how much time you want to spend on this. This is the same guy who tries to tell us how to run the Archdiocese of Agana when he doesn't live in the Archdiocese of Agana, but says because you don't live in Portland you have nothing to say about it. Oh well.

  5. Let us order Father Gobbi's book for our parish priest! I will order two for Barrigada parish.
    To Father Gobbi:
"Let the faithful be an example with an austere manner in life by repudiating fashions which are ever
increasingly provocative and indecent, by opposing in every way possible the spread of immoral literature
and entertainment and this continual flooding from a sea of filth that is submerging everything.
"Let them be a good example to all by their purity, their sobriety and by their modesty.
"Let them flee all those places where the sacred character of their person is defiled. Let them form about My
Priests My great white army" (1st November, 197 3).

"TO THE PRIESTS, OUR LADY'S BELOVED SONS"
The book calls for Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
    • It calls for unity with the Holy Father and the Bishops in union with him.
    • It urges us to live out faithfully ones baptismal/priestly consecration.
    • It calls upon us to listen and to act upon the motherly urgings which Mary has made to us time and time again
    but especially at Fatima.
    • It calls upon us to bring others to a renewed devotion to Mary.
This book is in the form of inner 'locutions' made to a humble
Italian priest by the name of Father Stefano Gobbi.

  7. The late Fr. Gobbi's controversial Marian Movement of Priests has totally disappeared from this region. A few fundamentalist priests and other visionary chasers used to meet at a local church on Sunday afternoons, but that ended several years ago without attracting new members.

Fr. Gobbi and his Movement lost traction by advocating Vatican-condemned visions at Bayside NY and Garabandal. He was also heavily involved with the alleged Medugorje visions which bishops there say are diabolic. In addition to that, Fr. Gobbi was banned from speaking at Fatima by the local bishop. He cannot be classified as a mystic, because that designation is applied to canonized saints only.

    1. And we should believe bishops because...?

    2. In this case, the protesting bishops were right. During the 1980's, every money-grubbing con artist visionary on the planet made the rounds of US Catholic churches. They were packed to overflowing with idiots falling out and emptying their checkbooks.

High profile dioceses in this region attracted all of the big ones from Medjugorje, Ireland, Italy including Fr. Gobbi, Ukraine, Colorado, Canada, etc. They hauled in a fortune. I was standing right next to my Pastor when he ordered that well known Ukrainian "visionary" off of the property.

Several excellent churches became home bases for followers of these frauds and they were totally ruined. Normal parishoners left in droves and never returned. My favorite church of 30 years fell victim to the insanity. I left it over 20 years ago when Medugorje fanatics, including the once-orthodox Pastor, wrecked the beautiful place. Nothing but major financial scandals related to Medjugorje and endless fights with the local bishop.

    4. Dear anonymous?? Have your read the book? I think not. Your judgement misses the "message".

The Jewish Pharisees called Jesus a Fraud.

Souls drawn to our Holy Mother's message are fanatics? You accuse these fanatics of "wrecking" your parish which was once-orthodox. There is nothing in Fr. Gobbi's book that is unorthodox.

Like every movement, egos, greed and envy can detract from the "message".

Our Holy Mother called Priest, Her Beloved Sons and called them to consecrate themselves to Her Immaculate Heart. The message is pure.

Our local priest need our prayers and our support to rekindle their "fire" and shepherd their flock.

      What is your solution?

    5. Bruce A Williams, I read Fr. Gobbi's book out of curiosity when it was published and didn't like it. Copies of it were being given away free because only people in a few fundamentalist parishes and Charismatics would buy them. Self-proclaimed mystics were always unpopular here.

If you understood my comment, I clearly said that Fr. Gobbi was censured for promoting Vatican-condemned "visions" at Garabandal and Bayside New York, both of which remain in major disrepute. Being an outspoken advocate of Medjugorje which was condemned by local bishops didn't help his mission either. His misleading disobedience was inexcusable.

If Fr. Gobbi wanted to focus his work on doctrinally sound Marian apparitions instead of on himself, he would have used any of the approved visions with Fatima, Lourdes, Guadalupe and Knock, Ireland being among the best known. All of those shrines have official multimedia and multi-lingual websites that are very informative and they also accept free e-mail prayer requests. They're easily found on Google.

    6. I read the book and liked it. The message was "pray for our priests" for they are under attack. Nothing new. It's an old message which never goes away. Satan never sleeps. As for any apparitions or private revelations of any kind, approved or unapproved, we are free to do whatever we want with them. AS for Medjugorje, my wife and I experienced a personal miracle. As for the others being in "major disrepute"...so? I am personally in "major disrepute" by people who would rather that I shut up.

  8. Empower these children throughout their lives.

The issue of children born to priests who have broken their vow of celibacy is international in scope (as would be expected of a “catholic” church).

NPR reported on this the other day, with a focus on Ireland. http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/08/22/545243614/irish-bishops-advise-priests-with-children-how-to-face-up-to-responsibilities

In the Marianas, the surname Mangloña (“child of the air”) reportedly had this historical origin.

Regardless of individual and combined fault of priests or women who may “target” them, it is important not to lose our focus on various types of support and lifelong encouragement for those born into these circumstances.

  11. With all of these endless clerical disasters, I can't help but reflect on the brutally deceptive "Good Old Days" when we were dumb Catholic school kids who reflexively idolized all priests. Gone forever are those days!

Since the abuse catastrophe, the number of priests I trust and respect can be counted on the fingers of one hand and I've known all of them for at least 15 years. Sadly, some genuine saints have passed away.
