There are two Letters to the Editor in today's PDN relative to our church. One is a response from Dr. Marjorie DeBenedictis to a previous letter which impugned the honor which Catholics give the Blessed Mother. Dr. DeBenedictis provides an excellent catechesis on Mary with just a few words.
Maria B. Duenas weighs in on the Fr. Paul controversy by supporting an earlier letter from Eileen Benavente-Blas.
For those awaiting an update on the Fr. Paul situation, all we know for now is that Fr. Paul is still not allowed to say Mass or preach, that he has not resigned as pastor, and that a motion to reconsider has been sent to the Archbishop by Fr. Paul's canon lawyer, Fr. Dacanay, S.J.
We also know that should the Archbishop not reconsider, the case may go to Rome, probably to the Congregation for the Clergy.
