TO THE ANONYMOUS COMMENTER WHO CALLED ME "EVIL"

Here's to you. Love Kiko.

There have been many requests for a picture of the NCW's co-founder, ex-nun, Carmen Hernandez, so here your go. It does kind of show you who where's the pants in the family!

  7. Some of these so called mended marriages are a forced continuation of conditions that even the Church does not expect these persons to suffer. Pius forcing people to maintain very unhealthy relationships. PIUS. and why, oh why do the Neos always say they were suicidal??? The sad word comes up again and again. That alone is very disconcerting. VERY.

    6. How is it any different than Mother Church's position on divorce? It's not. Divorce shouldn't be an option when the going gets rough or you're not getting your way. That's the problem with society these days. "It's okay to get a divorce when the marriage just isn't working out the way you want it to." Even the Church works to re-build marriages. Marriage can be a glorious thing, and it can be a cross for some. It's wrong to encourage someone to die to the other (Not literally, mind you) and to take up one's Cross? Perhaps, by doing so, that person will build their treasure in Heaven.

  9. Sect or Cult.. hmmm. I went. I listened. I joined. Convevance (?). I stayed for a while. I came to my senses and ran for my life. They followed. Guilt trips. Father Piss called to tell how I would go back to my horrible life. The PDN letters talk of NEO calling people when they are at dark places and introduce them.to God and bring them back to the church. Well they got most of it right. I was at a dark spot in my life, I was looking for God. Father Piss used to bring a Spanish guy with him and Pat. He was so humble, he showed me how to sing and pray, which I do every day. What the PDN girl didnt say is they quickly indoctrinate you into thinking Their Way..is the only way. Quickly superior to those not on Their Way. You went to Mass which satisfied Sunday obligations. Heckler 2 hours long, it satisfied 2 weeks worth of church. Cults have a leader, adept at psychological warfare and ambush tactics. The catechism is poised at the week and those in the dark. God is there watching..I pray he is there to catch the falling and fallen. I've seen give cars to the NEO, let people stay in apartments rent free for months. I won't chastise the kids that are born to serve God, but the dogma or procreate generously to bring more to do gods will leaves many with way too many kids to be supported. I recall once Father Piss ripped me for not wanting to go to the holy land and how I wasn't giving it all up yo Him... I told Father Piss if God wrote the check to the travel agent I'd go.

A cult preys on those in the dark, and keeps them there with psychological antics and threats and my favorite. ..guilt.

I still talk to God. I walk a straighter path than before. I'm looking for another church. But know Jesus git my six.

    1. If you know of any other former neo's, encourage them to come foward. The world needs to hear your stories, whether they still go to church or not. I know that for some, it has left a bad taste in their mouth, and they had come to believe that, the neo is the church, so they just left church altogether.

      Delete
    2. Welcome back to the church! We really appreciate hearing from you because we do know that there are people, other than the leadership of the Neo, and are functioning as virtually good Catholics.

We have heard that it is really hard to have a clean break away from the Neos without the guilt and the fear that they instill in the members that are wanting to re-join the main Church. They have been told that they will get sick or their family may suffer illness and even die! They were told that they were going to go back to their old and unholy lives and go straight to hell.

Persecution and being judged have been cried out so much by the not-so-good Neos, but when you condemn your own members to hell because of leaving, this is a clear view that you yourselves are judging and persecuting..your very own members for doing what they are supposed to do...join to the Neo, learn, walk, then walk away and walk back to the Mother Church!!!

The problems have been really with the leadership, Apuron, Pius, Quitugua and Cristobal! We all must pray and Write our letters to Krebbs!

Please write your letters..it is so integral to reforming and the healing of our One Church.

May I suggest you talk to one of the many good priests or Religious sisters on Guam who can help you. It is not a reason to look for another church.
Thank you for sharing this story on this page. it is important that people learn from your experience of this cult which has taken over the Catholic Church in the western Pacific.

My community finished the Way 8 years after, but no regrets. i know them in and out and Fr. Pius before he came to this island as itenerant catechist. Even read his thesis about the Way at the University of Santo Tomas.

    11. I am sorry that you had a terrible experience, but there is no wrong in "giving" or lending a priest or seminarians or missionary families a vehicle or an apartment or clothing or food or a couple of bucks to get some new sandals or whatever. Lots of Catholics, not just here, but around the world give of themselves to help out parish priests in one way or another. It's much like if a family member or a friend comes to the island for a visit. One might "give" or lend those people a car to get around or a place to stay if it is within their means, right?
Being "open to life" should never be seen as a burden. There are many families outside of The Way that have an abundance of children. Some of these families may have financial difficulty, but they are rich in their own right. Also, it's not like the catechists are in the bedroom monitoring you. Individuals control their own bodily functions. Who are we to deny the right to life? If it is God's will that you have many children, then that is God's will. If he wants you to have no children, then that is again, His will. The Way encourages life just like the Church wants it to do.
When you say that Father Pius "ripped" you. Are you saying he yelled at you? Did he curse at you? Did he damn you to Hell? I didn't go to the Holy Land and I never received a "ripp[ing]" from him if this is what you mean by getting "ripped." He told me that I would be missing out on an experience and encouraged me to go, but it's not like he damned me for it.
If it was matter of cost and a lack of finances, the catechists know that not everyone can afford to just get up and leave for a trip abroad. Isn't this why communities have car washes and bake sales and encourage individuals to go out and work for that money themselves? There are many youth that were not able to afford a trip, but they went out and saved up the money that they earned through their efforts if their families were unable to afford it. They also encourage the brothers to give money, if they want, to help the youths receive the experience of a WYD.
It is not "their way" but God's way that they press upon individuals. They only tell you that Jesus is the way to salvation. If you wish to seek Him through The Way or through the traditional means, then you are always welcome to do so, but their is only one way that they espouse, and that is through Jesus Christ. Many people go to a catechesis, or a couple of them or complete the entire thing and then leave and go about their lives. It's okay. We know that individuals find God in their own way just like God presents himself to individuals in His own way. But, by no means is this one particular experience the same for all nor is it indicative of the experience in its entirety. Everyone has their own experience on what happened. Some better, some worse, much like me saying that the entire Church is messed up because I might have had a terrible experience with a very strict, disciplinarian priest in a particular parish years ago for not doing the right thing while serving mass. No, all priests are different, all parishes are different.

  13. Fr.Matthew Blockley.August 8, 2014 at 4:53 PM

The main reason why I opposed the N.way was exactly because of the reason given in anon 3.43pm. I had seen the division of unity it had caused in England. I believed that if that division happened in a small pacific island it would become a greater problem. Fr. Pius was not happy with me at the time I told him. But I was right look at what has happened in Guam today. I strongly suggest the people of God continue to neutralize this cult operating in the church on Guam. They can have a small community but the leadership of any diocese should not be neo governed. Problem on Guam is that archbishop and his minions are neo owned and this has become a major ecclesial complexity for the local church. The only way for peace now is for the archbishop to leave and new non neo bishop appointed. There will never be peace on Guam why Apuron remains.

Any ideas? I live in Mangilao and used to drive to tumon, so driving isn't a huge deal unless you're thinking Merizo. Help me find a good priest and a nice church fellowship. Where is Father Andres? Father Eric say mass anywhere? My alternative is Christ Bible Fellowship? Tumon used to be ok? Miss that short filipino priest that used to run up and down marine drive. Where to go???

    1. Dear 5:39. There is only one reason to be Catholic. Fr. Andre is the pastor at Agana Heights. Fr. Eric celebrates Mass at the Friary (we don't do "gregorian chanting"). I don't know the "short filipino priest who used to run". My suggestion would be wherever Fr. Paul or Msgr. James celebrates Mass. But the crowds, I understand, will not be "medium sized".

  17. As I was watching the Travis Hoffman show with Father Adrian, i wondered why he was just very repetitive with his answers. When asked about the Mass being said in homes, hotel, etc. he scurried to grab the statutes, flipping through the pages to find the answer. For someone who has been in the NCW his answer should have been spontaneous.

On the answer about leaving, he was not actually honest. My friend would be constantly called to urge him to return. This continued for many months until they realized that he had left for good.

I never questioned my friend on his motives for joining or leaving. This was a personal and if he wanted to say something he would have.

I am just sorry that I was not able to get to ask a question. So maybe someone can do so for me. My understanding is that the NCW have gone back and followed the ways of praying following the pattern of the Jews in the Old Testament.

For them the Sabbath was a Saturday and rest of a Sunday. This Sabbath celebration is practice by the Seventh Day Adventist. I always believed that when Jesus Rose from the dead, as celebrated on Easter Sunday, this became the Lord's Day. Sunday was now the Holy day. That is why I believe that Pentecost is celebrated also on a Sunday.

Father Adrian was not very clear about the journey. The statement about First feeding the body with milk like that of a baby then eating solid food a little at a time is I believe what is implanted in the minds of those walking.

When one says that one of the ten points of the Pope is Sunday should be family day is taken out of proportion. He meant that Sunday should be a day of rest...no work. Spend time with your family. He didn't say that we shouldn't attend mass on Sunday. Now what? Should we just dismiss Sunday and and proclaim it Family Fun Day?

I am sorry, but Father Adrian just isn't fully verse with the meaning of the NCW. I don't even know if he knows why he is there. In other words, he was beating around the bush and didn't give a solid answer.

    2. Pope Francis is aware of the Neos' tactics when a member wishes to leave the Way. He said to a group of Neos in Feb:
"I would like to propose to you some simple recommendations...
The first is to have the utmost care to build and to preserve the communion within the particular Churches in which you will work...
Communion is essential sometimes it can be better to renounce living in all the details that your itinerary demands, in order to ensure the unity among those who form one ecclesial community, of which you must always feel that you are part...
The Neocatechumenal Way, as an itinerary of discovery of one’s own baptism, is a demanding road, along which a brother or a sister can come upon unforeseen difficulties. In these cases, the exercise of patience and of mercy on the part of the community is a sign of maturity in the faith. The freedom of each person must not be forced, and even the eventual choice of someone who decides to seek, outside of the Way, other forms of Christian life that help him to grow in the response to the call of the Lord must be respected."
Read the Pope's complete address at: http://en.radiovaticana.va/storico/2014/02/01/pope_to_neocatechumenal_way_build_ecclesial_communion,_evangelize/en1-769304

I always believed that when Jesus Rose from the dead, as celebrated on Easter Sunday, this became the Lord's Day. Sunday was now the Holy day. That is why I believe that Pentecost is celebrated also on a Sunday."
Is this any different from going to evening mass on Saturday to fulfill one's Sunday obligation? In addition, the Easter vigil is held all through the night in to the early morning hours of Sunday, sometimes before the sunrises and as I have experienced a few times, after the sun rises.
When one completes the catechesis, they are entered in to the Book of Life with their fellow community members. They are now part of a community, a family if you will. I don't see any harm in reaching out to your "family" and calling them up and asking them to join you in a celebration. When something special arises and I am asked to contact brothers and sisters who have not walked for a while, I don't lay guilt trips on them or tell them they are going to Hell if they don't do it our way or whatever, I simply tell them that "Hey, if you've got the time and want to come, this is happening at this time on this day at this place." If they don't show up, then they don't show up. No harm, no foul.
