  1. fr. edivaldo,

"Virginity loss in a young age???"

Really, viginity loss??? Who English-ed you!

No need to go to your site, fr. Diana Edivaldo Oliveira,

You No make no sense anyways. Thank you very many, but we happy this here in our JungleWatch. (I'm only English-ing this way, so you can really understand my message, get it fr. Juicy?!)

  2. Nope. Diana ain't Edivaldo. How did u come to that conclusion?

  3. Huh? Why would Tim need to use a pseudonym if he's already using his real name? And what's wrong with men wearing skirts? Are you saying that skirts somehow make a man less of a man? What about men who wear kilts? I guess reasoning with the unreasonable will just cause me a headache. There are probably a lot of people who cohabitate including some of your Neo-brethren but I guess it's a-okay so long as you're getting scrutinized about it. As a matter of fact, many of you Neo seem to think it is okay to continue sinful behavior so long as you justify it by saying it's your cross to bare and your struggle. Maybe this is okay because you believe in going straight to heaven? Why try to change if we are inherently sinful creatures with no ability to change our behavior, I think this is where the NCW falls short of truly helping people... Just keep on keepin' on with your bad self!

    2. Yeah, this blog isn't that popular...thats why it has over a million views right?!

  4. Yes, the NCW claims that they have saved the youth from despair. How many of these young people go to celebration on Saturdays, celebration of the word on Wednesdays, and then afterwards as they gather with their social group outside the WAY, one only hears vulgarity....Such fruits! How many post hard rock music on their web site? How many send posts of illicit pictures to one another? The list can go on!

Do not tell me about shacking up, viginity lost, illegitimate children, etc. For me, I lost my virginity and I have 2 children. Yes, I was very young and naïve, but I learned things the hard way. Are they illegitimate because their father didn't want them? They have a father. He just chose not to be a part of their lives.

I didn't have the guidance of a mother. She was always gambling. My father was a drunk who couldn't hold a job down. I had to fend for myself and got stuck with the wrong crowd. I turned my life around without the help of the NCW or anyone else.

It was a struggle to finish school, but I did. It was a struggle to bring two children to UOG to attend classes. It was a struggle for me personally to go on food stamps, welfare and other programs for the needy. I had to swallow my pride for a while until I was able to finish of my college education and get a good decent job. Now I can say that I have survived and I am still surviving.

My children may not have the best of everything, but they have all the Love and support that I can give them. Although I did not really grow up in a very Catholic atmosphere, my children are. I am proud to say that finding my way back to the Church I did on my own.

When my little ones say Mom, you forgot that we need to pray before we go to bed, then I know I am doing right. When I see a glow in my son's eyes after receiving communion and my other son just all smiles when he walks up just to get blessed is a blessing in itself for me.

Do not go preaching to me about the many youthful fruits that the NCW has produced. Many of them are as fake as they can be. Why do I say this...no FRUIT has the right to ask my boys..WHERE IS YOUR DAD? HOW COME WE NEVER SEE YOUR DAD? These are the fruits of the NCW that turns me off to their style of Christian living...TWO FACED!

    2. I am very proud of you. It came from your heart and with so much love. You didn't need a community, you need to believe in yourself. God bless you and your children

    3. Thank you 8:30, you did this on the strength of your own Faith and you persevered wonderfully!

May God continue to bless you and your family!

    4. Anon 11:14pm, we actually DO need a community, it's just that we don't need a community with all the cult-like control and overbeariing "catechists" in charge.

  5. Yep, the fruits of the Neo...... very rotten indeed!!

  6. Typical NEO knee jerk response. Attaching the person, not the issue is the best defense the NEOs have, right O.J.? Get a grip. You are on the losing landslide and you should be ready when the mud slide rolls down from the hill that you are standing on!

  7. Sure sounds like Edivaldo! Please Mr. Juiceman, don't insult our intelligence because we're not as dumb as you look!

  8. All these NCW do is justify their actions and practices. This should not even be a issue if we were one CHURCH and did things together. Instead they do all these different things without us and get mad that we question their practices! Really? So it's do as they please? Maybe we should go and use the crying room at the Cathedral too! For crying out loud.....Get a life and come back to the Catholic CHURCH or go and be a Protestant and attend St. Pauls or Christ Bible Fellowship? No more giving to the second collection thats for sure.

    1. I won't even give to the first collection anymore....worried that a required percentage goes to the Archdiocese, which, to me, spells NeoCat funding. I give my alms directly to the non-Neo priest after Mass and explain why I don't want my Sunday offering mixed in with those inside the money basket. I explain it's to cover the priest's (or parish's) needs in a manner the priest sees fit.

    2. Heard this years ago that AAA gets one Sunday's collection each month from the parishes.

    3. why does having a second collection seem to be the norm on guam now? back in the day, at least at st anthony, those were uncommon and they always explained what they were for.

    4. @rey d
the Archbishop saw that is was working in Yigo so now everything they ask for is funded by second collection. The problem with this is that the special needs of the parish can no longer avail of this, because as you said, it is becoming a normal thing, required by the archdiocese.
@AnonymousSeptember 3, 2014 at 7:49 AM it used to be every fourth Sunday goes to chancery, then it changed to 10% of parish income. Don't know what it is now.

    5. in the interest of financial transparency, all parishes should inform parishioners what the second collections, if any, are for. long ago at st anthony, i think they used to say it was for the air conditioning or some other maintenance-related expenses like that.

assuming that second collections really are for additional parish-related expenses, then perhaps the parish is collecting it because that's the only way to get the people to give more. that is, maybe people are more inclined to give $5 for the offertory collection plus another $2 for the second collection. but they're less willing to give all $7 during the offertory, opting only to give the $5.

these amounts look small, but sadly realistic based on my own observations during Mass. given those amounts, i'm amazed the parishes can even afford running the aircon during Mass. i can only assume they must have some generous anonymous donors who give money some way other than through the sunday collection baskets.

i myself have been guilty of being a cheap giver. but i do tend to want to give more if i knew where the money was going. regardless, i do need to be more generous.

for a challenging and provocative book, i recommend fr thomas dubay's happy are you poor: the simple life and spiritual freedom. it's relevant for the era of pope francis, since Gospel poverty is a theme of his, even though the book itself was published long before him, in 1981. ... unfortunately, though, it's also challenging in a different way: fr dubay's writing style makes me fall asleep. :)

    6. rey d..the parishes are already assessed for the % to give the Chancery. It makes no difference whether you put it in the first or second collection.

      Delete
    7. If it is a fixed amount rather than a %, it makes no difference if you give it directly to the parish priest or not. He has to remit the fixed amount before having money left for his parish.

    8. i'm okay that a % of collections go to the chancery and to rome. the Church, local and global, needs $ to operate. but i also trust that it's all used for the good of the Church. on guam that trust comes into question.

where i live now, parish and archdiocesan expenses are quite visible. i don't want to or need to know how much each staff person gets paid. but we know the various ministries and other costs that the parish collections support. the same goes for the archdiocese's annual Catholic appeal, st vincent de paul, and all other special collections. and because of this visibility, it makes me want to give even more. why can't guam do the same? i think that's what many Catholics on guam have been asking the archbishop to do.

  9. I bet the new NCW leadership at the Cathedral is looking for something and/or everything to hurt and tarnish Monsignor James and then say "SEE" we told you so. Really? Is that what these NCW are all about "Drama" and "Division". This is all we see now. All "NEO's" running the Archdiocese. I guess that was part of the "MASTER PLAN". And they say there are not shoving the WAY down our throats? Think again People, this is happening right before our eyes. Rome please hear our Cries for HELP.............................

  10. Anonymous on September 2 at 2:47, what is the purpose of your comment? Take your seat back at the children's table and let the grown ups do the talking.

Aside from the specific issues that Tim has raised regarding the NCW's lack of adherence to its statutes, there is a persistent tone of superiority in the arguments being made by its members. Have you grown too big for your britches? Let's make one thing clear, the NCW is nothing more than an itinerary for adult formation. It is not the source of the Catholic faith, it is not the authority of the Church, and it is certainly not an authentic witness to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Yet you speak as if though God Himself handed His church over to Kiko. As if we were somehow lesser for not embracing the Way.

In fact the NCW revels in taking credit for God's work as made evident by these ridiculous testimonies. For all of you who have truly experienced the saving power of God, it is not the NCW who has delivered you. The NCW has no divine power. Only God can save. He may have used this itinerary to bring His Light into your darkness but now He enjoins you to use your free will to seek the one and only Truth.

Ask yourself one question - if Jesus Christ appeared in His glorified body during your Eucharistic celebration, would you really recieve Him reclined at your table as if He were your buddy and not your creator? I should hope not. And as Catholics by our own profession of faith we must believe in the real presence of Christ during the transfiguration at the moment of consecration. Does not ever fiber of your being yearn to lay prostrate in the presence of your maker?

Now you decide whether the Way is geniunely Catholic.

    1. Anon 1:33PM, When you said "And as Catholics by our own profession of faith we must believe in the real presence of Christ during the transfiguration at the moment of consecration." Did you mean "transubstantiation" instead of transfiguration?

Amen to your write up! The saints knew of God's saving power and certainly didn't need the Way. They always gave credit and praise and glory to God, not some human entity (i.e. Kiko, The Way). I find it quite disturbing that the neos were so excited to go to the Philippines to see their Kiko, but didn't get too excited when the Pope, Our Holy Father, visited Korea. Just a thought.

  13. So is their no punishment for a priest pretending to be a female blogger? If this bishop knew about this could he get in trouble with Rome? Im not from guam so i just know what is posted on the blogs. It just seems very wrong that a priest is hiding behind a female character while nothing is done about it.
