DEMOTED

Looks like all that Jubilee praying stuff has got Blessed Diego demoted:

http://www.guampdn.com/story/news/2015/12/30/mass-schedules-new-years-eve-new-years-day/78061814/

Along with the "renaming" of the Piti Church from Our Lady of the Assumption to Our Lady of the Annunciation, the above "mistake" (these are not "typos") printed in the PDN is more evidence that the people now running this diocese are not members of our own Catholic Church. They are Apuron's neo-cult colonizers.

Meanwhile, Brother ("I don't care") Tony is planning his next vacation. Wonder which smooth-skinned boy-presbyter he'll take this time.

  1. This brings to mind a stark reality of how poorly our diocese has been run for 30 years.
"Beloved Diego" is actually "Blessed Diego", having been officially recognized by Rome. But San Pedro Calungsod has been recognized by Rome as a full Saint. San Pedro was a helper to Fr Diego and both were martyred for the faith.

So one might ask, why did a helper boy make full sainthood but the man who brought the faith to Guam is only blessed? Were they not martyted together?

Because Guam could not get its act together to do the diligent work required to promote the cause of Fr Diego. The leadership on Guam was too busy glorifying themselves and their two seminaries.
Meanwhile, the bishops of the Philippines did the job they were charged to do and they presented the case to Rome in an orderly and professional way. Too bad these bishops weren't allowed by Guam to present the cause of Fr Diego at the same time. If they did we would be praying for the intercession of Saint Diego.
The same situation holds back the cause for our beloved Fr Duenas. The Vicar general was supposed to lead the promotion of his cause and nothing has happened, and nothing will while this administration focuses all their faith in Kiko.
Not only is our leadership totally corrupted by "the Way". But they have proven to be absolutely inept!

    1. All of which I agree with. But we get what we permit. There was no popular clamor from the people for sainthood for Blessed Diego. There has been no popular demand that our leadership do its job. I'm not talking street protests. I'm talking private meetings with church leadership to move the cause forward. Were there any? I hesitate to think what would have become of Fr. Paul and Msgr. James if not for this blog and I am not saying that because I need any accolades. Even now the majority of people who want to see change are hiding behind the CCOG and waiting. Kudos to the few who stand up.

So while I'm at it here's a few things anyone who cares can do and maybe some already do. Just share the posts from this blog and Chuck White's blog. Share them on your FB page, your twitter account, your email lists. Maybe even print some out and distribute. Do the same with any news story or letter to the editor that supports our side.

I have hundreds of FB friends who I know support our cause. I normally only see two people share these posts. I know why of course. Because then people would know who you are. Apuron and the neo-cult is counting on our fear. So far, for the most part, they've been winning.

  2. I had this conversation with my family over the weekend. Why did Pedro Calungsod achieve sainthood before San Vitores? The answer is simple. The archdiocese didn't have its act together. I was quite obviously was not a priority for the leaders. I'm not saying it was a race, but the roles that each played in advancing the faith speaks to their contribution. If we remain complacent in accepting what the archdiocese is doing, then we'll always get what we've always got.

One of the things I do is sit down during the Jubilee prayer. It's a joke to say that prayer when the leadership of our church have done NOTHING to bring about peace when it is ENTIRELY within their power to do so. Another form of action is to educate others about what's been going on. It's surprising just how many people don't have a clue about the atrocities committed by Apuron and his merry band of thugs. They don't know how the Neo communities claim to be Catholic and yet what they practice and believe is NOT Catholic.

There are many things that have gone so terribly astray in our local church that we must all do our part to correct them. As always, it starts with prayer. But it doesn't end there.

    1. Good point Becky. This deserves a story of its own. The task for sainthood of San Vitores is interesting. Archdiocese of Cebu were very well organized in the process of preparing papers for Rome. Momsignor David was asked torare the papers for San Vitores. He was unable to complete this task. The papers that were completed lacked substance. In a final bid David attempted to have San Vitores placed with St. Pedro Calungsod in Cebu to get San Vitores passed through. The plan failed. David is so unable to complete basic tasks. Try and read his thesis . A first year seminarian could have composed his thesis. I can assure you the guy is not that bright. Impressed Becky you ask this excellent question.

  3. Sad indeed, These are the same people that go through scrutiny with NCW, we know know the quality of their scrunities. It brings to mind, why St. Pedro Calonsog was canonized before San Vitores, was this due to the efforts or lack of it by AAA?

  4. Sadly, our vicar general puts up a facade of smug know-it-all and contempt for others' faults. Yet you try and peel the layers of this charade and you find nothing substantial. You find a sorry piece of apuron-like preoccupation with nothing. At least he tells people he is frail and sick so he gets to maintain distance from others. The people of Guam paid for his nine-year extended vacation in Rome and Europe, yet all we got in return is his loyalty to ncw, not his canon law knowledge, not to mention his other personal bills.

  5. Very few copies of David"s thesis from Rome are available on Island.
Try find a copy you will be shocked at content. It took him ten years to compose a paper a first year seminarian could have completed after a basic course in canon law. How could you possibly expect him to document papers for San Vitores. Archbishop would have been better off employing Tim Rohr to prepare the documents requirements. For sure for sure San Vitores would now be a saint.. Very few on Guam have academic analogy to do the process. Only two people one priest and Tim Rohr could prepare those documents as required by church law.

  6. yeah, a typo is when you omit the second 's' in "blessed." this is a mistake that indicates ignorance and incompetence.

apuron going on another trip?? so ridiculous.

    1. I guess apuron needs another trip because we non-NCWs are so "tiresome." He needs to soak up strength from his NCW pseudo-admirers, ha!ha!

    2. Anon 9:56 you wish! How do you account for 4 plus hits, and take a look at the different countries that log on to find out the dastardly deeds imposed on the Guam laity by NCW. JW and Chuck White are the Paul Reveres of the Church. They have done so much to spread the evil imposed by Kiko and his minions. One thing that I take pleasure is every time you click on JW it ruins your entire day. Obviously you could not tear yourself away. Suck it up!!!!

As early as July 2005 — six months before AAA's January 2006 public revelation of his allegiance to the NCW Cult on KOLG — I knew that (then) Blessed Pedro Calungsod would be canonized before Blessed Diego Luis de San Vitores. I happened to be in the Philippines with family members at that time and, during one of our rare "down times," I was watching TV. As I was channel-surfing, I caught a program on EWTN in which Fr. Bing Arellano was starting to share the story of Calungsod's martyrdom.

I was intrigued because I knew that the young Filipino had been an assistant to Blessed Diego, so I stayed on that channel to watch the program. According to Fr. Arellano's narrative, when the chief hurled the spear towards the priest, young Pedro shielded Fr. San Vitores with his own body and fell to the ground, mortally wounded. Enraged, the chief hurled another spear at San Vitores who was now unprotected. When he was hit, San Vitores fell on top of the body of young Pedro. Fr. Arellano stressed how young Pedro had such great love for San Vitores that he died in the spirit of John 15:13 — There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends.

I once participated in the narration of the life of Blessed Diego Luis de San Vitores to be played during the annual procession many years ago. I barely recall any mention of his young assistant in the priest's biography since the emphasis was on the martyrdom of San Vitores. After seeing that EWTN program in July 2005, I told my family that it was my opinion that Blessed Pedro Calungsod would be canonized ahead of San Vetoers, despite the fact that young Pedro had only recently been beatified — in March 2000, 15 years after San Vitores' beatification in October 1985. The narration by Fr. Arellano that the 17-year-old had sacrificed his life for the priest whom he had served PLUS the devotion of millions of Filipinos at home and abroad PLUS the concerted effort to move Calungsod's cause forward left no doubt in my mind that canonization was not far behind for the young boy.

In 2012 — twelve years after his beatification and 7 years after I watched that EWTN program — young Pedro was canonized. There are many people who ask why the young teen was canonized before the priest he served. Of course, one of the reasons could be the fact that the archbishop has been too distracted with his travels, the demands of his NCW Cult as well as trying to pump out as many presbyters as he can so that the cause of Blessed Diego Luis de San Vitores has fallen by the wayside.

Whatever the reason, the fact remains that Blessed Diego needs to have a miracle attributed to his intercession. That is something beyond the archbishop's reach. IF there has been a miracle and the necessary paperwork has not been completed, then it would be just one more black mark on the archbishop's record. If not, then we need a miracle for Blessed Diego to become St. Diego.

    1. There is ZERO question that the cause of Blessed Diego came to a screeching halt when Pius and his cult showed up, despite the fact that David is monstrously inept.

  10. Has the Archdioxese ever considered naming a parish for St. Pedro? I have a feeling one of the reasons why the people of Guam have not rallied as much for sainthood as the Filipinos have for St. Pedro is because San Vitores was not a Guam native. The Cebuanans rallied behind their countryman for the cause of sainthood. St. Pedro is a saint that stepped foot on Guam. Why isn't he so celebrated on Guam as well?

  12. I volunteered to serve on the Committee for the Canonization of Blessed Diego and the last time we met was Sept. 29,2014. An blatant example of Archbishop's lack of leadership, lack of interest in the Church. My new year's wish is for Archbishop Apuron to resign so that we can truly have a Bishop that will devote his entire interest and effort for the advancement of our One Holy Catholic Church. We no longer need an Archbishop who has abandoned us.

  13. Mary Lou and Tommy – Mary Lou: So impressed with your narration of Fr Bing Arrelano’s little-known story how Pedro Calungsod shielded a spear intended for Diego Luis de San Vitores – a catechist who offered his life for his missionary priest! Stories like this more than likely enhanced and greatly promoted the cause of Blessed Pedro to Sainthood faster than that of Blessed Luis Diego himself – even though his own beatification came 15 years after the beatification of his beloved priest Fr Luis Diego. And the adulation and devotion of Blessed Pedro among his Filipino countrymen – and especially the leadership of the Filipino Hierarchy in promoting his cause – led to their beloved Pedro Calungsod, now St. Pedro Calungsod! Why couldn’t this happen in Guam to have our own St Diego Luis de San Vitores? And this bring me to Tommy Tanaka’s comment (1/1/15: 8:30am).

I didn’t know, Tommy, that you had served in the Committee for the Canonization of Blessed Diego, and that the last time the committee met was September 29, 2014. What was our local church leadership doing all this time? Busy with something else? (No need to answer what that “something else” was!)

It is so sad – Mary Lou and Tommy – that our local church leadership has not put this project at the top of the list, instead of putting all their energy on “something else”.

Unfortunately, the canonical process for the promotion of candidates to Blessedhood and Sainthood, rests squarely on our church hierarchy! And if our church hierarchy doesn’t seem to want to PRIORITIZE this (not just by composing a prayer for us to pray – and let it go at that), is there such a thing as a laity movement recognizable by Rome for the promotion of Blesseds and Saints?

Who is the Postulator for the cause of Blessed Diego? Shouldn’t he be out parish to parish, Mass after Mass, actively and vehemently promoting the cause? There should have been a plethora of radio/TV coverage, print media coverage, plays, skits, novenas, devotions, medals, shrines, booklets, seminars, conferences, etc. – all VISIBLY SEEN THROUGHOUT THE CATHOLIC COMMUNITY.

Was it really a “slip of the pen” that we now have “Beloved Diego Church” in Tumon, instead of “Blessed Diego Church”? Or did the Archdiocese really mean to demote him?

While active in music ministry, I taught my men the then-newly composed song “Diego Luis San Vitores”, and we used to sing it (in English and Chamorro) whenever get invited to sing at the Tumon Church Masses. Has that song gone out of use? I remember when Archbishop Apuron would croon “Felis Navidad”, but I don’t ever recall him singing “Diego Luis San Vitores”, or cutting a CD of strictly religious songs. Maybe he did, and I don’t recall. But I certainly don’t recall hearing “Diego Luis San Vitores” sung on KOLG radio, which I tune to periodically. Has anyone heard it?

If you guys want to talk about doing something to promote the canonization cause of Blessed Diego – count me in! – jrsa (Jan 1, 2016)
