PALE MIKE CRISOSTOMO WITH PATTI ARROYO ON K57

Posted by Chuck White

Pale' Mike discusses the appointment of Fr. Paul Gofigan to be the rector of the Agana Cathedral Basilica.  Will Fr. Paul be allowed to exercise authority over the Neocatechumenal Way there?

  1. AAA must be pissed about this appointment, or wait his location is unknown and was stripped of his power....

  2. He was removed from Santa Barbara because he told Fr. Pius and group that they can come in under certain conditions. They were upset at Fr. Paul for trying to set them straight in their practices and rituals. I hope he imposes the same conditions.

    2. - I am extra proud because he comes from my village of Barrigada! If only he can be sent to Barrigada so we can get rid of those awful pictures and bring back Unity to Our San Vicente/San Roke Catholic Church! From My Lips to God's Ears!

  4. could it be that since the collections are going down all the faithful who so want Fr. Paul to return to Dededo will now follow down to Cathedral so they can gain back the money lose through this good priest????? Slick and Quick this here decision. No sense saying to stop the cash flow because the Dededo Parish will give for their great friend and priest. just saying.

  5. A much welcomed announcement, Fr. Paul is an excellent homilist, the Agana parishioners can now begin to return to the Cathedral. It has been embarrassingly empty. The faithful were driven away by poorly formed presbyters assigned by Apuron.

Great news about Fr. Paul !!! A well-deserved assignment (and a vindication!). I look forward to the official announcement about Msgr. James’ return. When that happens, part of the CCOG’s battle mantra --- RESTORE --- will be accomplished. One “R” down and two more “R’s” to go! There are criticisms of Archbishop Hon and the perceived slow pace of cleaning up the mess. I think those criticism are borne of years of mistrust for the Archdiocesan leadership, the multiple problems in the Church, and the neglect of the Faithful that have gone on for years. It is understandable that some of have this view. But one of the take-aways for me from this interview is that the Presbyteral Council has held meetings to address clergy assignments. And other meetings to restore Fr. Paul and Msgr. James to their former (or more choice) positions. To first focus on clergy assignments is a great strategy. The Faithful are served “at the trenches” by their pastor and parochial vicar(s). For this reason, Pastor assignments are important. Because there appears to be movement in that area, to me, it demonstrates the Archdiocese has a prioritized concern that the Church properly serves the Faithful … at the trenches. And that is a good start. Keep the clean-up going!

    1. Thanks for the encouragement, Rose. May I recommend a careful reading of my most recent post:

I took your suggestion and read it! It is a most excellent explanation of the distinction between a rector and a pastor! Thank you, Tim! In light of that information, the “R” for “RESTORED” is pre-mature at this point. BUT, while not quite what we want, the rector assignment is a step in the right direction.

    3. Every thing we have seen so far has been a chess game.

    4. - But the chess game is finally getting close for the True Katolikus on Guam to Say - CHECKMATE! But baby steps so that all will be won within the Legal System!

    5. Trust me. You don't know Gennarini. We are nowhere near close. It is only the huge amount of effort and money spent behind the scenes that is forcing Hon to concede these small steps. Stop the celebration and fight more now than ever before.

    6. Yes, please. Troops do not celebrate in the middle of war. They have to continue to watch their backs and keep a close eye on, and anticipate, the actions of the opposition. The soldiers also occasionally need to be relieved from the tranches and new fighters brought in. Arise, Katoliko!,
