GUILTY

Posted by Tim

If there was ever anyone who incriminated himself by his own actions it is one Anthony S. Apuron.

In the Father Paul affair, he incriminated himself by blabbering about how he had been stalking Fr. Paul for two years. If disobeying an order was the real grounds for firing Gofigan of Santa Barbara Parish, then there was no reason to stalk him for two years. Yet this is what he said he did at a clergy retreat in the Philippines in October of 2013.

In the Msgr. James affair, if the charges against Msgr. James were true then Apuron shouldn't have had any problem in giving Msgr. James the written list of charges. Yet he refused. Apuron NEVER gave Msgr. James a written list of charges because Apuron knew that Msgr. James could refute them.

In the RMS property affair, if Apuron knew that what he was doing was a good thing, then we would have seen a big announcement in the Umatuna about his giving the property to RMS "for perpetual use." We would have seen such an announcement because we had been told ad nauseum about how RMS was "gift for Guam." So giving the property to RMS "for perpetual use" would have been something to celebrate. Instead, the gift was kept under wraps and was only discovered three years later.

Regarding the sex abuse cases against him, if Apuron was innocent then there was no need to go into hiding and attempt to change his appearance. If he was innocent he would have walked outside into broad daylight and invited an investigation to clear his name. But he didn't. He ran and hid.

  1. This is true. over many years I requested a private meeting with Archbishop Apuron last being in 2010. He never responded. I am still waiting for him to call me after 25 years. He did see me about three times in public but kept his distance. However,I am praying he will apologize to all he destroyed be it in body mind or spirit.

  4. As bad as people can be, we have an obligation to pray for their conversion and salvation. Yes, they should be held accountable, but we will all be accountable for sins.
Could someone relay to us outside of Guam, has the NCW been obedient to Archbishop Byrnes re their MASS? Have they put a stop to the alterations as requested? I hope so, because that is another form of abuse.

    1. Jesus explicitly condemned child abusers. Don't waste your time praying for them.

  5. Apuron is as guilty as hell. No doubt about that but, as the old adage goes: "He who fights and runs away lives to fight another day". We can only hope that this filthy fugitive's days are numbered.
