GUAM DAILY POST: Temporary stay issued in sex abuse cases

Judge Michael Bordallo of the Superior Court of Guam issued a temporary stay of 20 childhood sex abuse cases that were filed in Superior Court against the Archdiocese of Agana and the Boy Scouts of America, to see if the parties can agree on the mediation process. CONTINUED

  1. I hope the archdiocese will own up and take responsibility for the grave injustice it hid for many years. To think even if Rome had no clue is really concerning because then bishops would have free reign on their assigned diocese. No one to oversee them is really sad. With a permanent assignment, bishops get comfortable and greed and power get easier to exploit. It's no wonder brother tony got away with so much. 30yrs is a very long reign.

    1. Bishops DO have "free rein/reign." That is the meaning of the word "apostolic." Every bishop is a descendant of the apostles and every diocese is essentially it's own Rome. And this is also why the "floor of hell is paved with the skulls of bishops." "To him who much is given, much is expected."
