TENORIO AND NERO CONTINUED

We left off (here) with Tenorio's reported comment that that "church" has the legal authority to do this.

JW questioned what Tenorio meant by the "legal authority" of the "church" to "do this" since - pursuant to the First Amendment - the "church" has no "legal authority" over the state and the state has no "legal authority" over the "church" insofar as to what the "church" teaches and requires of its faithful.

Before we go on to the rest of what Tenorio said, PNC and K57 (which was the only media to carry the story) could use a little education.

Just what is the "church?"

Whenever "church" is spelled with a capital "C" (e.g. "Church") it is almost always understood as the Catholic Church - for reasons we don't need to go into here.

But the PNC reporter uses small "c" "church." So what is that? A building? A former gas station?

But moving on to Tenorio and again copying from the PNC story:

According to Tenorio, the church has a legal authority to do this, but there’s no question that his experience is evidence that there will continue to be a movement against the rights of those who are living their lives independently in the LGBTQ community.

“I would expect that, unfortunately, those will be the same voices that will try and pass legislation to reduce the number of freedoms and liberties we have here on the island,” the lieutenant governor said. - PNC

As already mentioned, we dealt with the "legal authority" quip earlier, so let's move on to the next thing:

...there’s no question that his experience is evidence that there will continue to be a movement against the rights of those who are living their lives independently in the LGBTQ community.

Unfortunately we cannot even engage Tenorio directly on this quip because it appears the PNC reporter - apparently trying to keep her job for a bit longer than most PNC/K57 employees keep their jobs (these days) - wholly inserted a high-school-freshman-newsletter-twist into the Tenorio story.

The PNC reporter interpolates:

"...there's no question..."

Umm, there's no question BY WHO? You?

Seriously are there any adults at PNC? If so, you may want to help your child reporters. But let's move on to the meat of the thing.

There is an actual quote from Tenorio that we will deal with, but first there's another "freshman newspaper" thing from PNC's child reporter:

"...those who are living their lives independently in the LGBTQ community"

If Tenorio made anything clear, he made CLEAR that the "LGBTQ community" has no interest in "living their lives independently."

In fact, the whole point of "Patti's" interview - and Tenorio's comments in the PNC news item that followed - is that the "LGBTQ community" is willing to do anything BUT... live their lives "independently."

According to Tenorio - or the freshman child who wrote the report - the "LGBTQ community" intends to be extremely proactive in shutting down anyone who dares attempt to "reduce the number of freedoms and liberties we have here on the island.."

Never mind that Tenorio's very position as the island's (and in fact the nation's) first every OPENLY GAY LT. GOVERNOR, is in fact an island-wide referendum on the wholesale acceptance of homo-sex ... and thus same-sex unions/marriages/relationships - or whatever you or they want to call it/they/them. There is NOTHING "independent" about Tenorio's thin agenda.

Meanwhile, there is much to be said by the "silent majority," i.e. certain homosexually oriented persons who have to endure the Tenorio-like labels and who really do just want to live their lives "independently" without the likes of Tenorio and the PNC-child stirring up dust the rest of them don't want. But we'll get to that.

To be continued...
