What is an Apostolic Nuncio?
An Apostolic or Papal Nuncio is a permanent diplomatic representative of the Holy See (Vatican) to a state, international organization, or in the case of Oceania, a geographic region. In short, he is the Pope’s ambassador to Guam, and the person most able to assist us in transmitting our concerns about what is going on in the Archdiocese of Agana to Rome.

  1. I think Archbishop Krebs' relation to Guam is "Apostolic Delegate," not "Apostolic Nuncio."

  2. According to this article in Wikipedia:

"Apostolic delegates are also sent to regions such as the West Indies and the islands of the Pacific. These delegates are also appointed nuncio to at least some of the many states covered by their delegation, but the area entrusted to them also contains one or more territories that either are not independent states or are states that do not have diplomatic relations with the Holy See."

Oceania is listed as a Nunciature with the following included: Australia, the Cook Islands, Fiji, Guam, East Timor, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia (Federated States of), Nauru, New Zealand, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu.

    1. Guam could go either way. It is politically aligned with the U.S. and is not an independent state. However, the archdiocese is aligned with the CEPAC, the episcopal conference of Oceania which falls under the Nunciature of Oceania. I've only ever heard the Nuncio to Guam referred to as "Nuncio."

    2. I emailed the Apostolic Nunciature of NZ. They confirmed that Archbishop Krebs is the Apostolic Delegate to Guam. Also, notice that in Fr. Gofigan's letter to Archbishop Apuron, he copies "Most Rev. Archbishop Krebs, Apostolic Delegate to Guam."

    3. After listening to the audio footage of Archbishop Krebs' meeting with the clergy in July, we got the true answer that it's either way. Just hearing how Apuron was constantly trying to correct Msgr Quitugua (the elder) every time he said "Nuncio", we now know who posted the comment on January 14, 2014 @ 2:00 AM. Wait, 2:00 AM? I guess he does sleep well.

  3. Since the incident with Father Many who was in Toto, people have been corresponding with Archbishop Balvo while his was the Nuncio. Nothing was done. Do you think this Archbishop Kreb as Nuncio will do anything?

    1. Good point. I mean, Krebs is also an archbishop and so may be inclined to protect his elite group. But maybe he'll be different and actually do something constructive. But don't hold your breath.

  4. Hi there, the nuncio's address in the second half is still showing the old one on the "how do we address him?" section.

  5. Tim, is AB Krebs' email above his personal email? I also went to the NZ website and the email posted is nuntius@nunciature.nz. If you could kindly clarify this for me. I sent an urgent and confidential email to the above email address a few days ago, I don't if he will respond or received it ? Thanks.

  6. Priests in my community are drunkards and home wreckers. Stealing peoples wives and destroying marriages and families. Many witnesses to these incidents. The Catholic Church is losing face and worshipers are seeking other religions to join abd leavethe Catholic Church. I too am looking at leaving the Catholic Church. I have proof of these happenings. Who do I communicate with to help with these? Who do I send the evidence to? Who do I communicate with on these ? Please help!

  7. Dear anonymous at 12.35, unfortunately some priests do not hold up to their vows. Several Popes have warned us about the dangers of so called "career priests" (for lack of better terms)
The examples are unfortunately legions. The offenses run the gamut.

When confronted by evil, (and this is a manifestation of evil) we are like most human being faced with a choice, between, ignoring the facts (either going on as if nothing happened, or moving away) and confronting the fact.
I sense that you are facing this choice at this time.
If you choose to confront the evil, you must be certain that you are willing and able to fight that fight.
The first thing, is to find clear minded persons, who like you will not put up with that situation.
The second thing, is to establish your dossier: time, place, witnesses, incidents....anything that will demonstrate the evil, as well as your good intentions.
The third thing is to bring it to the attention of your Chancery. In order to do so, you need to have a positive approach in order not to turn the people that are supposed to help against you.
At the same time, you need to be ready for rejection. Often questions of internal politics come into consideration, which you might not be aware of.
In order to avoid this, getting inside information if you can will be helpful.
Fourth, you have to be armed with patience while you give the benefit of the doubt to the Chancery to take corrective actions.
Fifth, if corrective actions are not taken, document everything, communicate with the nunciature of your place of residence. Learn about the inner workings of your diocese, create alliances, notify the outside world. Continue and do not give up.
It is hard work, but it is also a soul saving work.
Good luck, and God bless you.
