MY OP-ED IN TODAY'S PDN: NO MAJOR CHANGES IN CATHOLIC CHURCH

In "Pope risks losing part of Catholic flock" (Sept. 21 Pacific Daily News), Brett M. Decker begins by saying "Pope Francis has put the world's 1.1 billion Catholics on notice that major changes are on the way" and suggests those changes will be to church teachings on "contraception, abortion, and gay sex."

    Yes, Guam needs re-evangelizing. There are many people who call themselves Catholic, but you do not see them in Mass. These are the non-practicing Catholics. And then there are those Catholics who only come to Mass on Christmas and Easter. There are many people who call themselves Catholic, but they do not know what it means to be a Catholic.

    1. Yes, and coming from a group that openly and brazenly violates the General Instruction of the Roman Missal with every celebration of the Eucharist, making their liturgy ILLICIT.

  2. I am a Catholic! I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church! I don't believe in having so many communities, it gets so confusing as to where I would really fall in as a member. The only community outside the Catholic Church that I am a member of is the Community First Credit Union. They have free checking and good rates.
