NOTE TO SEMINARY

Don't know if it they're coming from you but the comments in which English as a second language is easily detectable are certainly not putting you in a very positive light. Maybe because you think the bishop has your back?

  1. The Pope supports us.

    1. Our pope does indeed support the souls of all of us, even the most arrogant of the seminarians.

    2. 4:46pm, If you could answer, I would like to know, if you really want to gather more members, why don't you evangelize to those that are not Catholic?

      Delete
    3. They do. And many have converted to Catholicism from the evangelization. Including myself.

      Delete
    4. The neo's illusions and dreams about the Pope supporting them is laughable, especially since no one else reads nor gets that notion from the Pope's message (and admonition) to them, publicly.

    6. Anon 11:24 p.m. Who are you to judge? Your statement shows your arrogance and the truth that only through walking the "WAY" one will be allowed into the Kingdom of God. Like the saying goes, "clean your house before you clean mine." Convert your family members before you judge the rest of us.

    7. What makes think that person is even catholic? For all we know, he could be from another religion. Your so fast to assume that comment was made by a member of the NCW, which proves your hatred toward the NCW and negative outlook you spread toward the public about us. And if in reply you say, "you guys give yourself that perceptive" then apparently you know very few member of the NCW. If you think you are truly converted good for you, but for myself, I have a long way to go.

    8. Anon 8:00 a.m. I do not need to be converted. I received the Catholic faith upon my being baptized. If a non catholic is baptized into the Catholic faith that is conversion. If a baptized catholic is being so called baptized again that is called being a reborn Christian a Protestant belief.

    9. Anon 8:50am. I've got news for you: we ALL need to undergo continual conversion as Christians. It doesn't stop at baptism. We just don't need to join the NeoCatechumenal Way or any other movement for that matter. Growing in holiness can happen without being in a group like that.

    10. Sorry not conversion but rather spiritual renewal.

    11. Anon 10:00 am: Check the Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1989 and following. Or listen to a good Lenten Homily. Conversion is required and it's a work of the Holy Spirit. We're NOT talking about conversion between religions, so maybe that's why you are confused.

But again, you don't have to join a cult-like group like the Neos to experience it.

    12. Nobody says you have to join. Why do people take offense to what testimonies are given? If it doesn't pertain to you, then let go through one ear out the other. With that said, it is just like the general comments made toward the NCW. It is human for somebody to take offense from insults, so expect a reply (negative or positive). Nobody is holy, not even the members of the NCW. Don't expect too much or you will end up disappointed.

    13. The issue is not your testimonies, but your testimonies during the course of the Mass, which violates church norms and takes advantage of the people. This is forbidden by Redemptoris Sacramentum 74:

[74.] If the need arises for the gathered faithful to be given instruction or testimony by a layperson in a Church concerning the Christian life, it is altogether preferable that this be done outside Mass. Nevertheless, for serious reasons it is permissible that this type of instruction or testimony be given after the Priest has proclaimed the Prayer after Communion. This should not become a regular practice, however. Furthermore, these instructions and testimony should not be of such a nature that they could be confused with the homily,[156] nor is it permissible to dispense with the homily on their account.

    14. While we speak of the seminarians, I am beginning to worry maybe they won't have enough to eat. One seminarian told me some times at supper they have only slices of baloney with no bread. That can't happen in Guam !

  3. It is highly instructive to the "rest of us" that Neo's see some sort of papal imprimatur on their liturgical abnormalities simply because Rome has not definitely condemn them. No, the Pope is treating you like adults, expecting, as would a kindly father with adult children, to respect the rules of the house without having to spank you. How sad that you would presume upon the pope's charity.

    ReplyDelete

    1. They presume because of their arrogance. The Pope did not send them to Guam to convert the pagans - Kiko did. The Pope did not tell them to continue their liturgical abuses - Kiko did. The Pope preaches UNITY - Kiko preaches division, with the holier than thou attitude that is passed down to the NCW members who treat Kiko as their god. How sad they preach about conversion and finding "true joy" and yet, have hearts made of stone. This is obvious because of the all the negative defensive name calling comments they make. Is that true joy? Following a cult leader and NOT Rome, is true joy? That is not from the Holy Spirit. When Kiko treated the Holy Father with such disrespect, did the members of the NCW find joy in that? Just produce the document already!

Religious Conversion to the true Church created by Christ is indeed a gift. But I hope you would agree it is a gift more often derived from sources outside the NCW. In fact, four years ago I was a sponsor for a neighbor who was not Catholic, but converted on the Easter Vigil. She came to this process through a standard RCIA program at Sta Teresita Church in Mangilao. As sponsor, I was required to attend the island wide mass at the Cathedral at the beginning of lent (Rite of Election?). Many conversions through this process from Mangilao, many from Dededo, and very, very many from Yigo. Most other parishes also had RCIA candidates and their sponsors there.
Funny thing is, I don't think anyone was there from the NCW. Why were you excluded from this beautiful sign of island-wide unity and recognition? You might want to ask your catechist why the NCW never participates in this mass that all parishes participate in.
If you were there you would see that many conversions happen every year, and the NCW only accounts for a small fraction of those religious conversions. I don't know why your are excluded from this process, but I suspect maybe your catechist is afraid they may lose you when you realize that the NCW is not the only "Way" to grow in faith.
So anonymous, ask your Catechist at your private mass this Saturday, and then let us know what they have to say. I am sure a lot of people would love to know.

    To anon 2/12 4:46pm -
"The Pope supports us". Yes he does, but he also supports every other charism and movement within the Church. There are hundreds, if not thousands. You are not the only ones, but a very small fraction of the entire picture. Verify this with your catechist and let us know if they disagree. We look forward to your response on this.
But if you said "The Archbishop supports us" I would have to unconditionally agree with you. He supports you over, above, and beyond all other sheep in the flock. I hope why you can now see why we feel so lost. It is not because we need conversion, or that we have fallen into darkness. It is that we feel completely neglected by our Shepherd. Not only does he support you by his unwaivering time and presence, but he also supports you financially in ways he does to no other movement. No other movement on Guam receives a penny from the Archdiocese. Anything they have they work for, and they pay for use of Catholic facilities when charges are the norm. But for the NCW, our Archdiocese has paid millions of dollars. Cost of the seminary, operating costs for the seminary, costs for your presbyters and catechists, and who knows how much in travel costs for our "airport bishop", for traveling seminarians, and for NCW priests who seem to do an awful lot of traveling.
Yes, the Pope supports the NCW and all movements sanctioned by the Church, but two things you should understand:
1.) His pastoral support should not be considered as his acceptance of your illegal practices.
2.) All Catholics on Guam wish the Archbishop would support all Catholics on Guam, not just a very small minority.
I look forward to both anons responses so we can have some real dialogue, and not just short one liners.
    Waiting patiently,
    Janet B

  5. This is why they don't participate in the rites of Christian Initiation outside of their own communities:

In his "Guidelines for Teams of Catechists (Vol 1, p 70), Kiko teaches "Of those who go to Mass on Sunday, say the statistics, only 1.5% are adult Christians."

So when his followers look at you, they assume, a priori and without knowing you, your background, or your prayer life, that you are NOT an adult Christian.

    Who then, is being judgmental?!?

    1. Anonymous 2/14/14 @ 2:55AM: "I don't think seminarians are allowed to blog." That's cute. You certainly brought a smile to my face this morning. Aside from being totally naive, was there supposed to be a point to that comment? The seminarians may not be allowed to, but they obviously do. What's the point of your comment, aside from mere amusement?

    2. AnonymousFebruary 14, 2014 at 9:03 AM your assuming to much, get some evidence. I'm not in the WAY but your comments are way off. I don't thnk they would worry about this petty juvenile blog. Geessshh.

    4. I repeat the seminarians are controlled. 75 percent of Theologians are ordained in the U.S. How is it all of the seminarians here are ordained? How can you even know who is in philosophy or theology or high school for that matter? Where are the M. Div. degrees? We have just as much right to know about the course of study as we do the finances.

  7. Tim I'm assuming your the admin or the gate keeper. I find it entertaining and annoyed how you CATHOLICS jab each other. It seem like you are the man of LAW,LAW,LAW and no sense of mention of LOVE of Christ. So like reminds me of the Pharisees and SADducees. if this you called Christian like then I would rather be a JEW. Come down to earth cuase Christ never did this to anyone, even he love the Tax collector and the Prostitute. So if you choose swin with your own GLORY ( maybe vomit) so be it. It's free country. Maybe one the will make a statue out of you and along with your band wagon. LOL P.S. I'm not part of any you call groups or WAY. HAVE A BLESSED DAY.

    1. Your grammar is very telling and to top it off, you can't even admit who you are! I think you are jealous that people would rather listen to the truth on this blog than to you! You claim to know what Christ would do, yet here you are spitting at Tim! Run away and confess to your catechist that you were playing in the jungle.

    2. Hey don't copy my phrase of erecting statues. Read the blog. Somewhere I stated that the Archbishop should erect a statue of Kiko and Carmen infront of the San Vicente Church, the Cathedral of the NeoCatechumens. Maybe now that the Beloved Chancellor is there, he may just push it through.

    3. The speech of Anon Feb 14 @ 10am is soooooo indicative of his or her affiliation. "VOMIT" Fr. Pius' favorite word and also used as the catechists would "swim in your vomit". Yeah you're really not in the Way. What a joke! By the way I know how he speaks because I was in the Way.

  8. How typical that people like you mix your angry diatribes with greetings like "Blessed". Gives you away. Yes, you're right, it's a free country, and I am free to post whatever I want on MY blog. And you are free to go elsewhere. Bye.

    1. Once again, the name calling. Catholics jabbing each other? No, we're not jabbing. Tim is bringing awareness of liturgical and other abuses condoned and practiced by the Archbishop of Guam. Remember, Christ admonished sin, rebuked sinners, and even got angry when the vendors took over the temple and turned it into a marketplace. What Tim is doing is the Christian thing to do. He is fighting the good fight and trying to help right the wrongs being committed. Isn't that what Christ would do?
I don't think Jesus would laugh and dance because his Sacred Body is being desecrated. He doesn't laugh and dance when his priests, who have holy hands, and who are given responsibility over an entire flock, commit abuses and are guilty of injustice and neglect. The Archbishop is supposed to imitate Jesus Christ and His love for ALL. If you want to be a Jew, be a Jew. If you want to be a Lutheran, be a Lutheran. If you want to be a Catholic, FOLLOW THE MAGISTERIUM!!!!

    2. Look up St. Anastacious he'll tell you, lot's blabbing on the side of your gills and I sense anger in you which result to the dark side. continue to bring down your Roman Church by destroying each other. Satanas must be whispering to your ear, go ahead and bring down the church that Peter had erected. Once again don't confuse me to whoever you claim. The Way? What is that, Is it one way???? LOL I have better things to do than sit and watch you guys destroy each other.

    9. Feb. 14, 4:16PM-- It is precisely that "life" you live as neos and your refashioned Mass that is not convincing the catechized Catholic flock from leaving the authentic and legitimate Catholic celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of The Mass; you therefore have to resort to irreverently disrupting the Mass to do your commercials.

Can't you all show some respect for us, Faithful Catholics, by doing your commercials after Mass, at least? We do not interrupt your community meals, therefore expect that same considereation of respect and reverence for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass we celebrate and attend.

    10. But if we are Catholic already, what are we getting converted to? The person's statement further prooves that there is a separation. Nonetheless, we love you too and our dear Archbishop, which is why we seek the truth.

    11. "Followers"? Jealous? No one following you. I still call him Archbishop. But if he wants to be called "Tony" as he does in the Way he has chosen, then apparently all are welcome to call him Tony.
