You are right. I am not building bridges. I am burning them. I am burning them because I am doing exactly what the archbishop is doing. Within 10 days of the being told by the delegate to “build bridges”, AAA publicly trashes Monsignor James. Why? Because Giuseppe showed up and told him to. So who does the archbishop respect and obey, the delegate from Rome or Giuseppe, that is to say the Roman Catholic Church or the Neocatechumenal Way?Delete
And the sacraments? Typical Kiko-kook. -

Pope Francis has decided to establish a Special Commission for the study of the reform of the matrimonial processes in canon law. Take a couple of years off to learn the new material. Go ahead, Father Michael and Corrine can take good care while you are gone.

Adrian and David are not the profile of Francis bishops.
I believe the Nuncio's "suggestion" was directed to the archbishop, not to the laity. It was a "suggestion" only because he does not have the authority to order the archbishop to do so. However, given the Nuncio's office, one would think that the archbishop would take it more seriously. It is a test to see if the archbishop would restore his own humility and begin to reach out to the congregation he has estranged. Apparently he has no intention of doing so. But it's only a matter of time before he will have humility thrust upon him - either by his superiors in Rome or by God himself.

Anonymous (September 21, 2014 at 3:44 PM), I believe your observation is accurate — the Nuncio's "building bridges" recommendation was directed at the Archbishop and other clergy members, and not the laity. However it didn't take long before the Archbishop continued to BURN his bridges when he removed Msgr. James one week after Msgr. James celebrated his sacerdotal anniversary with Cardinal Tagle in attendance, 10 days after the Nuncio departed.

Yes I read the story awhile ago. It is difficult to detect who are the good and bad guys in this particular story, especially since Call to Action supports those who oppose the bishop. I'll look at it further.
ReplyDeleteCall to Action and Voice of the Faithful are two organizations mentioned in the link above. Based on everything I know about them, I would put them high up in my "bad guys" list. Based on this link, http://reform-network.net/?p=2938 it sure sounds like this bishop's "crime" is purging his diocese from dissenters, heretics and liturgical abuses. No surprise that CTA and VOTF would do everything in their power to oust this bishop. Bishop Dewane is originally from Wisconsin. If I'm not mistaken, CTA is based there and their dissenting and heretical views would be something he's very familiar with. I have no doubt he's doing his very best to protect authentic Catholic teachings in his diocese.
