DEAR ARCHBISHOP SAVIO HON TAI FAI

Archbishop Savio Hon Tai-Fai
Secretary for The Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples
Piazza di Spagna, 48-00187
Rome, Italy
Email: segreteria@propagandafide.va

January 26, 2015 (Agana, Guam)

Your Excellency:

My apologies. Sorry to bother you again so soon. I know you are now aware of the very unbecoming behavior of our archbishop, as this weekend, he again publicly smeared Msgr. James Benavente by including a copy of an internal review and a list of accusations with this Sunday's archdiocesan newspaper.

However, I did not expect him to go even further.

Yesterday afternoon, I began receiving calls from the local media asking about these accusations. As you may know, the media is quite used to coming to me when there is an issue involving the local church.

I did not know why they suddenly were calling me. I figured that maybe someone sent them a copy of the archbishop's accusations or they themselves had picked up a copy since the U Matuna (the name of our Catholic paper) was distributed to all the parishes on Guam.

I was in a hurry to go somewhere with my family at that time so I didn't have time to question. However, I advised the callers that:
Msgr. James had been asked by the Vatican not to engage the archbishop or any of his accusations publicly.  And since last July, when the archbishop first went public with these accusations, he had been waiting for an opportunity to discuss these matters personally, confidentially, and charitably with the archbishop but not only had he not been afforded this opportunity, he is yet to be given in writing a copy of the many accusations against him which have now appeared in the press at least four times.
As mentioned, I did not have time to ask the reporters how they found out about the most recent publication of the accusations, but I found out when I returned home and found this in my email:

The above is a picture file. The attachment is the report which was included as an insert into this week's U Matuna. The full document can be found here:

This is an email from the chancellor, Fr. Adrian Cristobal, to Jolene Toves and Sabrina Salas, two reporters at a local TV & Radio station, KUAM.

Archbishop Savio, not even the most despicable politician treats his worst enemies this way. Yet we have an archbishop and a chancellor and probably a nun who works in the chancery, not only willing to lower themselves to this level, but repeatedly if not eagerly so.

Seriously, Archbishop Savio, what are we to think of our religious leaders, especially our own archbishop?

Signing away a multi-million dollar asset belonging to the patrimony of the Archdiocese of Agana  in secret and without the proper approvals is one thing, but this consistent public trashing of a priest-son is beyond what most decent people could ever imagine.

Sadly, this kind of behavior has turned the Catholic Church on Guam into a laughingstock and huge source of scandal, even for non-Catholics. Truly, this has gone beyond anything remotely human and we are beside ourselves with disbelief and grief for our Church.

Note: there was some concern that the gmail address is not really Fr. Adrian's and that he might have been framed since he did not use his archdiocesan email address which is: acristobal@archagana.org

However, here is the google profile belonging to cristobal.adrian@gmail.com.

Michael Jucutan is the neo vice-rector at the cathedral.
Patri Piju is Fr. Pius (the Samnut)
Edward Garcia is a neo member of Fr. Adrian's Barrigada parish.

  1. Let the whole world see how evil, scandalous, and vindictive they are. Adrian's agenda is to wear the miitre. He has ruined vocations, people's lives, and has come between families. The Neos blamed Tim for giving this info to the media...open your eyes people! It was the chancellor himself seeking vengeance and power.
Archbishop Savio and Archbishop Krebs, we the Catholic faithful of Guam, the concerned Catholics, hope you realize that the leadership of Anthony, Adrian, David, Pius, Kiko, and the Gennarinis, are not interested in healing and reconciliation. They have their own "mission" - to bury the non Neo clergy and to force the Neocatechumenal Way on all our people. They have no respect for the Magisterium of the Church.
Members are resorting to use their children as human shields, singing Kiko songs and forcing non Neos to listen. Why the children? Because in our culture, who will question the children, the innocents?
They are devising schemes to force the Catholic faithful to give to two fake seminaries, even to the point of threatening priests and laying blame on pastors if their quota is not met.
We are tired and spiritually exhausted from all the evil these people on the hill continue to carry out. What a test of faith! But you see, this is part of their agenda - to wear us down so that we become one of them, giving in to the oppressors. We no longer respect this leadership, just as they have forsaken Rome.
What more will they do to hurt Guam's people? Guam's priests (not presbyters)? Monsignor James has remained quiet and humble since they began their public scourging of him in July 2014. And yet, they continue. Adrian, why do you feel so threatened by Monsignor James? Because of his kindness? Intelligence? Work ethic? Why are you so jealous of him? Why are you so vindictive?
Anthony and his advisors need to grow up. If not, then go play somewhere else. The people of Guam don't want you here anymore. Take your kikobutts with you.

  2. Adrian has been JEALOUS of Monsignor James since the seminary days. Adrian has many underlying psychological issues. Zoosadism ring a bell Adrian?

  3. They weren't in the seminary together. James was ordained in 1994...

    2. They were at FD and St. Joseph's together. Also, Adrian was at the Cathedral-Basilica then got transferred out as soon as James was ordained. Ouch, right?

    3. Yes 12.50pm. Adrian so pissed off with Apuron and James. Even saying they were lovers. Around 1994

    4. Exactly...Msgr James was in the gifted and talented class. Adrian was always in remedial training. Lol

    5. Tim, I can't make out the words in Adrian's e-mail to the media. I tried to enlarge the page but still couldn't make out the words. Would you please give us an enlarged copy that we can read?

    7. 2.01pm. Honestly the most gifted seminarian from Guam in St . Patrick's Seminary between the period of 1982 to 1994 was a Filipino priest . Monsignor James was gifted in personal qualities of charism that serve him well as a priest. Adrian, well honestly, he was send for special educational classes in Berkley.

  4. More evidence! How will the Kikobots spin this now. Deny/deflect/attack? Maybe they'll say Tim faked the email, lol. Or even better, Tim got it illegally. Don't they realize that they are public enemy #1. Stupid is as stupid does.

  5. Oh Tim, stop your silly games. No need to explain anything. Adrian has always been Jealous of Jimmy since the seminary. Anon @ 6:55 AM is right. To top it off, Jimmy was on a very short list for elevation to monsignor. Who wasn't on that list? Cry baby Adrian. Here's a message, Adrian: maybe if you took your ministry and responsibilities more seriously you wouldn't have to be so jealous and bitter about how Jimmy and your other brother priests continue to be fruitful in their ministry. Now you're sitting behind a computer screen on a keyboard playing catch up by defaming Jimmy and all those other priests you're jealous of. Isn't it funny how you'll always be a puppet and will never rise to greatness and holiness Mother Church demands of us priests because of your own accord. Remember those days...sitting in the living room at the Cathedral rectory while your mom would cook for us and your family would roam the parish as if it were their own home. Remember how the altar servers were your tentagos. Get this for me. Get that for me. Do this for me. Do that for me. The smell of popcorn on weekend nights in the living room. Enjoy your chancellor throne while it lasts because like every assignment that you've ever held, it will soon change and fade away because nothing you ever do lasts. And that's because it was never good-spirited to begin with.

    1. Typical pampered and spoiled brat accustomed to having things handed to him in a silver platter. Adrian, get a real job and get a life! Give it up already because you are a legend in your own mind. The harsh reality is you are lower than whale turd.

    2. Adrian, since Edivaldo is higher than AAA on the NEO food chain, he's directing AAA to appoint him as the new Chancellor due to your ignorance.

    3. Yes, yes, please take Edivaldo, one year in our parish is more than enough. Thank you Tim for your good works.

    4. Omg. Just had a visual of Edivaldo going around Chancery with tight shirt and short shorts. THE CHANCELLOR. Forget it. One way ticket to Brasilia to be with his close familia.

  7. Again our local media Outlets need to start doing some real investigative reporting on these sorry excuses for a bishop, priest and nun who are ruining and tearing apart our Catholic Church on Guam!

    1. Sure local media needs to investigate this bishop, priest and nun. Deep dark history protecting evil before neo arrived.

  9. Rome, we understand the need to be judicious and careful in assessing the crisis of our Church on Guam. The situation is getting worse not better and I am sure someone is keeping tract of the posts, they can see the frustration of the Catholics. We need to act sooner rather than later. I am sure you can assign several investigative professionals to end this "madness" on guam. Please, Please. There is an average of 8 to 10K hits on this website. The interest from around the world is obvious. We have to stop the embarrassment and bring closure.

  10. be aware, this weekend there will be seminarians visiting parishes talking about.....get this, AAA (Archdiocese Annual Appeal) no longer Charity Appeal. I guess it's another approach to giving them money. The appeal starts on or after Ash Wednesday. So from now till then you will be visited.

Mr. Tim, Thank You for the continued education you are doing via this blog.
You always respond truthfully, honestly and professionally unlike those who dislike your approach and have a lot of hate for those not walking ''The Way''.
    God bless you.

    1. No thank you RMS!!!! I'll save my money for those few in Malojloj so that they can attend a real seminary.

  11. Let them speak...maybe the people will wake up and realize their money is going down the drain. After hearing the likes of Gabriel Camacho, Michael Jucutan, Edivaldo and et al, I decided a long time ago not to donate a penny to this appeal. Now that the seminary doesn't even belong to Guam, who cares what happens to them and that property? We want our local men to be properly formed, not recruit from Europe and other foreign places. As I stated before, if the neos want to take all that credit for that seminary, then let the neos fork it out!

By the way Tim, great interview this morning. Adrian and those "in authority" should take some notes about how to speak and respond properly.

    1. I don't think it has anything to do with knowing how to speak and how to respond properly. It all has got to do with speaking the truth. And Tim speaks the truth and so it sounds beautifully. When the heart and the mind and the spirit are in synch, it will sound beautifully.

    2. @4:44 what? I thought RMS still owNed by Archdiocese. That is what the Chancellor says. How come nobody asks Father Pablo anything. He sure flies under the radar. Let's get the story on this once and for all.

  12. They all envy Msgr. James because he is true to his vocation. Apuron, Adrian, David, and the rest of that crew either never had a true vocation or exchanged it for ambition a long time ago. They are all self-serving and look only to court the favor of those who can elevate their status. They are the Pharisees of our time. Jesus put them in their place when he walked among us. Perhaps Pope Francis will see fit to do the same. A quiet resolution would not be appropriate here. It's high time for the Holy See to do more than lead by example and exercise his authority as the caretaker of Christ's church. He needn't admonish them publicly but their abrupt removal from offices held will resound well enough for all to see that the prime authority of our Church holds the welfare of the faithful paramount. We should all implore the pope to act swiftly before Apuron further escalates his unholy agenda.

  13. Archbishop Savio,

What is wrong with Diana's statement using the words PERMISSION and INSTRUCTED? Did Rome INSTRUCT the NCW to celebrate the mass the way they do? Can you double check this?

    AnonymousJanuary 26, 2015 at 9:22 PM

Yes please explain if the objective is to bring them back into the main church by way of the small communities, why is the neo mass celebrated differently from the mass in the main church?

    DianaJanuary 26, 2015 at 9:37 PM

    Dear Anonymous at 9:22 pm,

We already explained this to you so many times. We already said that we had the permission of then Pope Benedict XVI. If you do not believe us, then by all means...write a letter to the Nuncio and let them know your concerns. In the meantime, we will follow what we were instructed by the Pope.

    1. Simply ask her to please provide the reference to the permission by the pope.

If my recollection is accurate, I believe "The Dianas" claim the instructions were given VERBALLY to Kiko because, per "The Dianas," unlike Protestants, Catholics don't only rely on written words.

"The Dianas" also claim that no secret recordings were made of the PRIVATE MEETING between Pope Benedict XVI and Kiko when the Pope gave his VERBAL instructions to Kiko so their "Knowledge" comes from hearing the words of the Pope issuing forth from Kiko's mouth.

      Delete
    3. Correct. They will say they have verbal permission. But it's not from the pope. It is allegedly from Cardinal Rylko to Kiko. However, this would contradict what Archbishop Apuron said on December 17, 2014:

"Rome has approved it – even the way we’re receiving Communion. That they receive the host standing and they can sit down and everybody who receives it and they eat together...Rome has given permission for that. And it’s somewhere I need to find out where exactly, but they told us that permission is given."

According to this, the instruction is written and "it's somewhere". According to the counter, he has had 42 days and 18 hours to find it, and he hasn't. He hasn't because it doesn't exist and it is another lie. And so is the verbal instruction.

  14. RE: Church loans. Archdiocese implies that these loans were made without Apuron's knowledge and consent by Msgr. James Benavente. Can't either side show whose signatures appear on these loan documents? Can't witnesses to the signatures (notary public, loan officers, et al.) say something for or against either side?
