Another problem I see is if all the priests coming out of the RMS on Guam are incardinated into the Archdiocese then unless the they are incardinated eventually somewhere else the Archdiocese will be financially responsible for them in retirement. That is a heavy burden for the Archdiocese of Guam.
ReplyDeleteYes, that is a major problem. Once they are ordained in this diocese, we are responsible for them for life, even if they never spend a day here. Of course there are those who would gladly give more if they could be assured that the money would be used to keep some of them away...forever.
DeleteSince the pope has the authority to annul a marriage, does he not also have the power to annul the ordination of any of those ordained seminarians who did not receive proper formation? Just asking. If not, then maybe we setup a trust fund with special restrictions prohibiting its use to support any neo agenda and then donate to the fund instead of to the archdiocese. Then Apuron can kiss his personal treasury goodbye.
DeleteEndowment for priest retirement for the Archdiocese of Agana was established from the estate of the late Archbishop Felixberto Flores. This amount is fast dwindling because of the current recipients. Unless apuron does the same thing (unlikely, very unlikely), the Catholic faithful of Guam will be forced to support these ingrate neo presbyters of apuron's slavish ncw ambitions.
ReplyDeleteI thought Msgr. Zoilo Camacho also donated part of his property near Marbo Cave so that a home will be erected for those who are retired? This property is good for farming! Does anyone know about this?

ReplyDeleteCorrect 4.45pm. Priest retirement fund established from the estate of Archbishop Flores. Flores intended the money to be used for the sons of Guam and priests who at least gave 25 years of service to the Archdiocese. Tony went against the wishes of Archbishop Flores by using these funds for supporting all the misfits ordained by him for Guam. funds from this account were also given to sources other than retirement of priests. Suspect Tony needs to return around four million to various diocesan accounts including funds owed to a religious order.
Seems apuron only knows how to spend lavishly and give away money and property that is not his - cavalier generosity to individuals who never helped to establish the Catholic Churches in Guam.. Bad stewardship all around. This is a grave and irresponsible use of authority. I often wonder why he has been allowed to go as far and as long as he did to misrepresent donor intent. The grievous irresponsibility continues, and we are complicit.

ReplyDeleteMight be rhe wrong place to post but any updates on Deacon Steve? If I remember well, AA gave him till the 19th to step down as a member of CCOG or get fired. It's now the 22, and I haven't heard anything yet.
