THE "RED POPE"

One department accused of resistance to financial reforms is the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples – known as Propaganda Fide – that oversees and funds the Church in mission territories.
The 400-year-old office has extensive property holdings and a degree of autonomy: the prefect in charge of the department – currently Cardinal Fernando Filoni – is known as “the red Pope”.

The Prefect oversees the Catholic mission territories and is traditionally dubbed the "Red Pope" as a reflection of both the power of his congregation and the red vestments of the Cardinal Prefect. The office's sizable resources (furnished by income from its long-maintained Roman real-estate holdings) provide a significant amount of funding to the efforts of the developing church, and the congregation's cardinals are responsible for recommending appointees to the episcopacy in mission areas, mainly African and Asian countries, a task that falls to the Congregation for Bishops in more established locales. Archbishop Savio Hon Tai-Fai is Secretary (Filoni's deputy) of the Congregation. Their knowledge of China and the government-controlled Chinese church will be crucial in resolving diplomatic issues between the two entities.

NOTE: SMH. Hon can't even handle a small dispute between normally non-confrontational and peaceful Guamanians. How's going to handle Communist China???

  1. Regarding Filoni - An answer to why Filoni is so bossy and Hon maybe scared of Cardinal Filoni is that he also took part in the 2013 conclave that elected Pope Francis, and was considered to be a papabile, or possible candidate to be elected pope. [5]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fernando_Filoni - What a scary thought that one is for Catholics worldwide not just Guam.

    1. It's red alright, and it's called Dirt Devil, and the name sure fits!

  3. Saw an interview with Hon in Rome he said he operates with a big network. Guess we are off the radar of his network and he's on his own. Pretty wobbly.

  4. One thing which Tim had revealed more than three years ago, through his letter to the American conference, was the duplicity of Apuron in having Guam named as a land of mission, in order to get substantial money's.
In his letter Tim had demonstrated why and how we were not a land of mission.

It is now clear that Apuron did not actually just act that way, to get some money but rather to facilitate the NCW fairy tale, and most importantly to allow Guam to fall under the responsibility of the Congregation for the Evangelization of people. I strongly suspect that the move from the American conference of Bishops to the one for Oceania was also greatly fueled by that intention to put Guam under that same Congregation.
This is why the Neos are so arrogant in their attitude, because they know they are protected.
By the same token it made it very easy for the Neos to push for RMS and the cover of the Institute of Theology for Oceania. Their verbiage on the reasons for such Institute is self explanatory and logical in that context.
Another piece of the puzzle just fell in place.
I knew we had our fingers on something weeks ago.
    It is now Crystal clear.

    1. I appreciate your explanation of the Evangelization reach in Guam. It comes like smoke ahead of fear. I am ready in hand with shovel and dirt. Lets smother this bitch of a fire.

  5. Your comment, Frenchie, gives me more reason to believe that they sent Hon, though obviously incompetent, to Guam because Filoni needed one of his own to protect Neo interests, more than to answer the concerns of the Guam Catholics. Saving apuron would be nice but if "push came to shove," apuron would be "thrown under the bus." Which is how I see things now.

    1. I wont be surprised if filoni baloney saw fit to punish hon for his apostolic failures on Guam by suggesting that hon be appointed to replace the self-exiled apuron...

the baloney man would state, the administrative mismanagement that hon demonstrated qualified him for the position, considering apuron was just as bad if not worse...

filoni would say an obedient neo, is better than an honest priest..

  6. Push Apurun under the bus? "Please make sure to wash the tires before allowing any school children on that bus"

  7. After reading all comments I think removing Pius is okay now because they put Hon to take over. One of them has to be here to watch over "their interest".
Where is Hon staying? Chancey or RMS.

  8. It's a bit unsettling when one considers the immense control held by Filoni and his penchant for absolute power in advancing his agenda. It is evident that we need to keep the pressure on and must remain strong and resolute in our fight to make our Church whole again. The battle lines have been drawn and we intend to keep moving forward!

  9. A Mar.,2013 NCR article described Filoni as a "fiery supporter" of the NCW. Scary thought!
