BYRNES: "THAT'S NEWS TO ME!"

KUAM: Archbishop Byrnes: "I stepped into a pretty hot mess"

Living on Guam now for almost two weeks, Archbishop Michael Byrnes says he is in the early stages of rebuilding the local church. "I stepped into a pretty hot mess, seriously," he shared simply. "I know that's not news, but that's news to me. So that's all I about have to say.

"I know I've got a lot on my plate trying to make sure that I kind of structure this will help me navigate through this thing."

The new archbishop's top three priorities are to ensure that victims assistance prevention education is solid, to meet with all priests especially those who have expressed they've felt neglected over the years because of Archbishop Apuron's close connection with the Neocatechumenal Way, and to attend to the Archdiocese's financial situation which he described as "dodgy".

Archbishop Byrnes also discussed several other issues related to the Redemptoris Mater Seminary and his controversial decision to send Fr. Adrian Cristobal to study canon law in Canada.

Additionally, he discussed how the archives at the Chancery are in such disarray.

  1. Byrnes is still in shock. The last disaster of the type he'a facing was St. Paul-Minneapolis MN and that's been boiling for around four years.

It resulted in resignation of the closet queen Archbishop, bankruptcy of the Archdiocese due to hidden pedophile priests and sale of the chancery/archbishop's residence.

The courageous Chancellor/canon lawyer who blew the whistle, Dr. Jennifer Haselberger, resigned in 2013 and she is in private canon law practice: Canonical Consultation. She has a very informative blog. The same type of atrocities that sank SPM are what's sending Guam down the drain.

  2. Archives Do not exist Adrian David destroyed them few days before Archbishop Hon arrived. There are no documents Archbishop Byrnes. Can't imagine how ken spends his day in the archives.....I guess filing all PDN articles on Apuron .....

  3. If Byrnes can prove they destroyed the records, they should be laicized and turned over to civil law enforcement for prosecution. In the real world, no one gets away with that. Enough of pampering criminals who aren't fit to be priests!

    1. Yes...enough of allowing this Apuron dictorship to continue. It is time to defrock Apuron before the church is given back to her people. We must remove the evil person in order to let the church move on.

  4. Reportedly, only 3% to 4% of RMS's support comes from the archdiocese. The rest of it is paid by unidentified, international Catholic foundations and Propaganda Fide in Rome. If PF is involved, that makes RMS official mission property.

The former resort hotel was bought for $2 million around 10 years ago, but a "conservative" estimate puts its current value at $75 million! More than enough to bail out the archdiocese and compensate the abuse victims.

You need a certified financial statement from one of the leading multinational accounting firms to tell you what is actually going on over there because something stinks to high heaven. I smell money laundering.

    1. RMS has hit the Big Leagues at $75 million+. Pres. Trump's hideous gold penthouse in New York City cost $100 million.

  5. He needs to first identify the Neo priests and group leaders or else they will still be feeding him the wrong information and ideas. After those priest are identified, he needs to put them straight by sending them to seminary for proper training under the Capilician Order or any order other than the RSM order or Apuron's order. Then he needs to have a common rules and regulations for all the Catholic churches in Guam. Now, it seems that that each church has their own set of rules and regulations. It seems that in some churches, the assigned priest has the final word. Whatever happened to the advisory council of each church? Lord, we ask that you guide your sevant Brynes in listening to the people, giving the church back to the proper group of people.

    1. Poor Byrnes isn't up to this monstrous task. Guam needs an archbishop with killer instincts.

    2. I must say that a big red flag went up when he said "It's news to me." assuming he has no reason to not tell the truth in this regard, we must assume that information about the disaster that is this diocese was intentionally withheld. Now why would Felony Filoni do that?

  6. A lot of critical information will be withheld from Byrnes in order to protect the guilty. He can't trust anyone.

He has to stop acting like a deer in the headlights and let those reptiles know he means Business. Like find out immediately what's actually going on and start kicking butts.

Get that Finance Director-CPA he hired to see what else is missing aside from personnel records and give him a certified, itemized statement of archdiocesan assets, not a memo saying "You're broke". With abuse litigation pending, he has to know exactly where every cent is. If he doesn't know, the victims' greedy lawyers certainly will. He'll have to stay several steps ahead of them at all times.

Byrnes is perceived as weak and not the sharpest knife in the drawer. If he doesn't get his act together soon, the clerical wolfpack and the Neocats will blindside him at every turn in order to save themselves and their malignant interests. They'll effectively neuter him and go on with their evil business as usual.

  7. Dear Archbishop Byrnes: We sympathize with you as you now try to wade through the "hot mess" you stepped into. Obviously you cannot solve all the problems by yourself. You need help. But who to trust? If your decision to send Adrian to Canada was based on others' advice, then you know those people cannot be trusted anymore. Replace them and remove them from any position requiring your trust. So, who else to trust? Make it possible for the laity to communicate with you and you alone directly, not through your Chancery staff, and you will get to know what's really going on, thus helping you figure out whom to trust. Perhaps an e-mail address which only you can access, or a locked drop box which only you can open. For now, you cannot trust anyone.
